Lavy
Was getting very tired of my wanderers and wanted to play an army that not only looks good and has newer models but also plays completely differently. So I landed on BoK and picked up the chaos side of the big starter box, the bloodbound starter, and have some other toy soldiers coming in the mail. While assembling my models I've been trying to decide on a paint scheme for my new army. Not entirely sure if I wanna go traditional red and brass. Maybe the community here can help me with some inspiration; traditional or nontraditional, post your painted BoK armies here!
Render
Here are a few shots of my WIP army. Hopefully the picures are clear enough. I 'm going for a more toned down, gritty color palette and painting style (this part partially due to laziness). Note that I have done zero basing, as I'm very indecisive. It'll involve a large basing effort later on, but oh well. Also, a bunch of the models still need finishing touches (highlighting, changing skin colors, etc). Onto the models! Blood warriors with gore fists. A few small conversions to avoid any duplicate models. Blood warriors with dual axes. Tried to go a little more for an effect representing rust and/or dried blood on the armor. Banner /icon not at all complete. Wrathmongers - somewhat inspired by Kratos from God of War. Not sure if I'll stick with the skin scheme, but it's fine for now. Mortals group shot! Bloodletters. Not a big fan of the tongues or alien heads, so I chopped both off. Used green stuff to make hair/a mane of sorts on the heads. I enjoy working with green stuff, and I like making the models my own, so I find it worth the extra time. That's all I've got for now! chord
I agree I'm not a fan of the tongues on the blood letters. They look great much better without tongues
spenson
Did you consider buying some old bloodletters ? They kinda look like what you want. (Image I found on google)
Render
I do like the old models but prefer the more dynamic poses and the lithe look of the new ones. Would love to see some more armies!

Charles
This is the first army I have ever painted and really enjoying trying to recreate the Eavy Metal style in the battle tome.
Bueno
Glad to see you starting BOK, they are a great fun army to play and can still be competitive. I went for a non traditional scheme to my army, going down a beastial marauder/barbarian theme. mastercrafted
Very rough WIP of my blades of khorne paint scheme. Partly inspired by the archaon cut scenes from total war warhammer - my aim is to do a big chaos grand alliance led by the big man himself eventually. Gonna do disciples of tzeentch with a variation on the scheme as well.
Praecautus
Valkia in plastic, easy to build plus the dark eldar set costs the same as the resin model so you get a load of free bits including more wings... And my khorgorath and a chariot

RuneBrush
I went for a fairly standard Goretide colour scheme. Have recently started to do the flesh a pale colour for a bit of visual variety I have also reaslised I have a distinct lack of photos of the army actually fully finished! Stealth_Hobo
I chose a fairly monochrome Iron Horde color scheme for my army with some rust and grime added to it and it's a real blast to paint, pretty quick, too!
