  1. Taking a bad monster is actually worse than no monster. The carmine dragon and bindi aren’t showing up. And I don’t think droths perform if you don’t have fyreslayer stuff for them. Especially not just one. But maybe. I am not the most interested in buying fyreslayer stuff to play ko of cours and lrl get mortal wounds cause their spear and arrow tips are super sparkly😛 what does or does not get mortal wounds barely coincides with mystical stuff. Being really fat and charging into something is mortal wounds. Poison is mortal wounds (on hit no less). Sparkly arrow tips is almost the gold standard of mortal wounds. Dropping bombs is mortal wounds. Anything and everything can be a mortal wound.
  2. Eh, I feeL like I have less flexibility in what works for KO then I had before. You he competitive community in my area was probably axed by COVID, so it’s not as big a deal I guess. But it’s still a bit eh.
  3. having spent time reading and wathcing games, my estimation for KO have gone down. The edition really is pushing monster heroes and mortal wounds, one KO don't have and the other KO have to really skew into (in ways I don't find super fun)
  4. The all about mortal wound thing is a serious worry for me. Means only, what, like a quarter of the armies in the game are actually viable? Hope your army gets blessed by the mortal wound fairy, or just go home?
  5. yes you can still use the guild triumphs
  6. Yes, Lumineth are the most obvious current example. The people writing the rules really seem to love the lumineth.
  7. The designers have provably buffed armies they are passionate about. I don't think they've ever cared about making the armies they play better at beating their buddies, but you can tell which factions they care more about by the amount of neat rules lavished upon them.
  8. Gotrek was an engineer once upon a time and really enjoys inventions
  9. Too bad you have to buy a physical book to get a bad version of them
  10. It was, because GW clearly cared more about elves than dwarves in old fantasy. I mean, check the end times. The dwarves essentially have their entire named character list murdered by sniktch at the start and then play second fiddle to.... elves and humans the entire time. The dwarves were done super dirty. And the trend looks like it is continuing. I mean KO are so interesting as models and a faction that I had hope someone in GW had real passion for them, But no, it looks like what they really care about is more elves. And this sucks. KO being lumped into Fyreslayers and/or disposessed is GW going "Eh, this interesting steampunk army we made? we're out of ideas, so here, you get to be in the new dwarf army and never see an expansion of your range ever again." And this is worse for fyreslayers that have just been done dirty full out.
  11. KO has a large amount of bespoke and flavorful rules that I don't think survives a merger. And also, it's super insulting to throwaway merge dwarf armies when the game is "here's an elf faction. And an elf faction. Look forward to a third elf faction. And be prepared for a possible fourth elf faction"
  12. Archaon is pretty unstoppable right now if you don't build in a number of mortal wound effects.
  13. I mean, Adam Smith really is far too leftist and we shouldn't be mentioning such a left wing thinker.
  14. A dude in Russia with a wiki makes a more usable rules only digital version of GW's rules than GW does. Like, at this point GW should hire him.
  15. A dude in australia with a scanner makes better digital versions of GW's rules than GW can with all the millions behind it, and this is very frustrating
  16. You're just in too deep to realize that GW over charges for almost all of its services. Especially for its rules. GW hella overcharges for its rules
  17. what they're doing with codexes, and likely battletomes, is trying to double dip. They have the ability to be put into the app (Though it's super janky cause the 40k app is a mess), but you have to buy a physical copy and like input a code or some such utter nonsense. So to have a digital version of the book (that is currently, like, strictly worse than a pdf or even epub), you have to buy the physical copy and the app. Now they try to pretend paying for the app isn't required, but without that sub, the way the 40k app is structured, you get quite limited functionality with your purchase.
  18. People are way overthinking this. It's about making monsters more attractive.
  19. 6th Ed highly promoted murder lords in small high damage cav units
  20. any army that has a hero monster with a 3 plus base save is in a wonderful position now.
  21. I mean, LRL get the charmed position of having enough mortal wounds to matter in a meta that's going to have plus three to save on bas 3 plus save monsters that can also heal. General Cabbages and archaon are going to be pretty much unkillable without mortal wounds.
  22. I mean, it's more a Richard lionheart than a churchill, and kings regularly fought on the battlefield with their troops. But AoS setting is so big that the game FEELS smaller if all you play are the godking and their personal retinue
  23. Don’t rest your hopes on FAQ. It’s the first step on the road to disappointment
  24. archaon made out like a king with only 30 points while becoming so much deadlier and harder to kill. And it's not like archaon wasn't good already.
