  1. Aaaannnndd done! Fifteen chameleon skinks and whatever that fugly little guy in the middle is supposed to be. Just kidding! I know that's Oxyotl! I'm still pretty sure Dracothian beat him half to death with the Ugly Stick. He looks like someone was trying to create a model designed to be racially insensitive to skinks!
  2. The Marathon of Seraphon marches on! So I'd heard that skink priests and and starpriests were handy to have around. But what do in this age of quarantine when new models are unavailable? 'Counts-as' and conversions to the rescue! I love my skink chiefs on foot and I'm sad they don't have rules anymore but they make fine priests too! Then I needed a Starpriest but I didn't want another one of the actual model. So I did a simple conversion with some Engine of the Gods bits as ruins or archaeotech. Regardless it's there to make the model match the Starpriest in height. After this it's on to the chameleon skinks!
  3. Lovely job the spire tyrants! I haven't even primed mine yet! I have a quick questions about this little bestie-gor. I have a Beasts army that I'm painting dark blue and black for the skin and fur. I really like your scheme as well and I think it would match my current colors but be different enough to provide some variety. Would you mind going over how you painted the skin, fur, and horns? Thanks! 🐐
  4. Just finished up a Dankmeme Troggboss for my friend (also for the solo Aos campaign I'm playing)! Awaken! Musta-krakish! King and Death to Worlds!
  5. I'm continuing with the update to the Seraphon: Hunting Packs complete! Gods! Salamanders are an ugly model! Next up, a Troggboss for a friend. Then Saurus Knights and Chameleon Skinks. One day I may even paint a battleline unit!
  6. So this question occurred to me during my run today. I don't know if this even has an answer but thought I'd ask. My question's pretty simple but important: who calls them Seraphon? Is that their name for themselves? Is it their Azyrite (free people from Azyr) name? Is it how they're known to the mighty Snotlings? Or do we just not know?
  7. You say this and all I picture in my head is a drunk guy chasing away some ground hogs and trying to live in their burrows! 😄 Itty-bitty living space!
  8. I've been slowly working through my Seraphon one Battlefoam tray at a time (I touch up everything in one foam tray before moving on). So I've completed my Saurus Guard, a Sunblood, and the new Realmshaper Engine. Those last two were purchased for the new release and I really like how they turned out!
  9. So during my stuck-at-home time I've decided to focus on my Seraphon. My entire army is almost completely painted except for 6 models. Those will be painted of course, however the majority of my hobby time is going to be updating the paint scheme on the rest of the models. I've learned a lot since I started my Seraphon nearly 5 years ago. They were my first AoS army and I've definitely improved since them. I'm painting them up as Coalesced and so I want to have brighter colors that stand out from 3 feet away. Here's an example of of old vs. new.
  10. Here's an interesting alternative to the forced command trait issue that they've tried in the new Seraphon book. So each of the Constellations has the typical Battle Trait and required Artefact and Command Trait. The Command Trait, however is only for a specific type of General. For example, the Fangs of Sotek Constellation has a Command Trait that has to be taken by a SAURUS General. You do not have to field a SAURUS General, however. So if you have a SLANN or SKINK General they can take one of their own keyword specific Command Traits. Dracothian's Tail - SLANN General Fangs of Sotek - SAURUS General Koatl's Claw - SAURUS General Thunder Lizard - THUNDER LIZARD General on a MONSTER mount Now I don't know if taking a different type of General than what is referenced in the Command Trait for each Constellation is some kind of crippling handicap. The book arrived just before quarantine started and I haven't played any games with it yet. I do like that you have options! 🦖
  11. For what its worth, the Godsworn Hunt are a joy to paint. I love them even though I don't play much Underworlds anymore. I mostly use them as allies for my Beasts of Chaos. They were the starting off point for the color scheme of my Untamed Beasts (and any future S2D models.)
  12. I love the natural tones on the Thundertusk, as opposed to the typical white or ice blue I always see. Also, a lilac giant! Awesome! PS: Bonus points for shading the nips. Very important step. I think Vince Venturella has a video about that somewhere. 😉
  13. Oooooooohhhh! That explains why I couldn't find it! Thanks! 🦕
  14. So speaking of Stegageddon, I'm a huge fan of the big dinos as well. However I have a question. I know Thunderlizard makes Stegadons into battleline, but can someone point me to the page that removes the restriction on the number of Behemoths? Everyone keeps saying its in there but I just can't find it. Thanks! 🦖
  15. Now I know! And knowing is half the battle!
  16. So just to clarify, are you saying that the lowest possible value on a die roll, regardless of modifiers, is 1? Examples: Roll 2 and Rend -1 =1 Roll 2 and Rend -2 = 1 Roll 2 and Rend -3 = 1 The modified dice roll is then compared to the bastiladon's save which is still 1+ and therefore it passes. Am I getting that right? If so, I think I've been playing save rolls wrong this whoooooole time!
  17. I currently have three AoS armies, Seraphon, Beasts of Chaos, and Free Cities. The lore for the first two are kinda nebulous. However the lore for the Free City of Hogsface (a suburb of Hallowheart), closely follows the podcast, Hello from the Magic Tavern. https://hellofromthemagictavern.com Enjoy! It's only 300-some episodes! 😀
  18. I made a thing. I inflict it upon you now.
  19. Finally. The cycle is complete. 😔 All the books will be updated for AoS 2! I'm not certain but this might be the first time in 30 years that GW will have one of games systems fully updated! I'm really looking forward to this! I love my dinosaurs and have looked forward to the day when we'd get updated rules. My only hope is that our big dinos get updated rules to reflect the fact that you're fighting a gigantic, freakin' dinosaur! Let me have sweet Jurassic Park moments; Stegadons plowing through troops like a living battering ram, Bastiladons smashing Chaos warriors aside with their tails, Carnosaurs eating lawyers, splendid! Also, giant magical aztec pyramid thingie...pretty sweet! Definitely gonna pick one up, paint it, and loan it to my FLGS since it will make excellent terrain for AoS in general! So the Seraphon are turning into the "Coalesced", huh? Hmmm....sounds like they are gonna start living in the realms themselves if I had to guess. They've been mentioned several times in lore and Black Library novels as living amongst the Free People in Star Temples or something like that. I hope they begin establishing temple cities and the giant magical aztec pyramid thingie seems to suggest this. Lastly, since it seems its the unwritten law that I have to complain about something...this free dino-flavored (ew) ice cream I have is ok I guess, but its just too darn cold!
  20. Apologies if this has been discussed earlier but I've been pondering our Battlemage on his Griffon. I have a mostly Freeguild focused Hallowheart army and I've found the General on Griffon to be very good. So now I'm thinking how good TWO griffons would be! But am I misguided? The Griffon herself seems pretty choppy but the 5+ save kinda sucks. The Battlemage's spell is also handy on such a mobile platform. The mobility of the Griffon doesn't play well with the Hallowheart Battalion but a trio of Battlemages on foot are not too expensive. I've rarely ever heard of people using him so what does everyone think him? PS: I'm not interested in making my army ultra-competitive. I know the Sorceress on her Dragon is prolly better but Dark Aelves are evil and smelly!
  21. Freeguild general: A - Always useful though he does lend the army towards static play which can be a problem if you need to snag objectives. General on griffon: A+ - I love my General on Griffon and he always does serious damage to whatever he goes after. Hurricanum: N/A Luminark: B - A handy support piece but not nearly the damage dealer it was. Battlemage: B+ - Squishy but versatile and interesting. Hallowheart has lots of fun spells for these guys! Battlemage on griffon: N/A - I've never used it but I am quite curious about how it performs in Hallowheart. Freeguild guard: B - A decently tough anvil when they have swords and mystic shield. I enjoy casting Warding Brand on them and watching the explode when my opponent kills them. Greatswords: B+ - They always do more than I expect when they get a chance to hit. They are rather squishy and slow though. Freeguild handgunners: N/A Freeguild crossbowmen: C+ - The extra range and shots are nice for harassing but I don't expect them to be a major threat. Demigryph knights: A+ - Really hard hitting Outriders: N/A Pistoliers: N/A Flagellants: N/A
  22. Hi! I'm Kamose. I don't mind losing; I just enjoy the chance to play with my toys. To be fair though, I haven't lost EVERY game I've ever played. In a dice game like Warhammer where I have the freedom to pick my opponent I'd have to be a ****** or the unluckiest person in history to lose EVERY game! I'm gonna assume you mean tournament play since if you really don't care about being competitive then you, almost by definition, don't care if you lose. I would say that if the imbalance between units is ruining casual games then the responsibility for adjusting your gaming experience falls on the players. GW makes a game that can't satisfy everyone "out of the box". Its not possible so don't expect it. At a tournament there are certain expectations and balancing factors that are set and controlled by the tournament organizers. The players generally have little say in the matter. They have to accept what's given and decide whether or not to attend. In a casual game, however, the only people who can adjust their experience and expectations are the players. If two people are playing casual games and one continues to curb stomp the other, then its the responsibility of the players to adjust their game so that it is enjoyable for both of them. If one person refuses to change how they play because they might lose, then that person is selfish and rude. That person needs to learn some empathy. No different than the kid who plays too rough on the playground and refuses to stop when asked. Its unfortunate that GW backed off on this idea, but when AoS was released there was an explicit expectation that players would discuss and work together to "balance" their own game and make sure both players have fun. Even with points, FAQs, balance adjustments, Errata, and the General's Handbook those conversations are still just as important as ever. Also pick-up games with strangers kinda suck. If that's the only way you can ever play AoS...I'm sorry.
  23. Very rounded and blunt if I'm understanding this correctly. No chance of accidental poking.
