  1. I think the new BR BoC battalion lets the Bullgors from the battalion get a +1 to hit whilst within 12" (probably wholly within). And thought I saw Warherds do D3 MW on the charge on a 4+. Something I guess. With that Turnskin story, I hope we can mutate things in our next tome, besides just into Spawn, which I also like. Finally got a named character with that BR shaman though! Hopefully we get one for each hero type eventually to do great things....unspeakable, but great.
  2. Oops, duh! Yeah, that's a great mounted set of doom. And a Bloodstoker to get those knights in there for sure. I'm almost leaning towards reforming my Khorne army to be more Slaves to Darkness for double tome duty in case I want to Despoil sometimes.
  3. Hmmm, for fully mounted cheapo screens, maybe Marauder Horsemen? Not that cheap actually but they're on horses! Or you could mount some bloodletter torsos on chaos hound bodies for Flesh Hounds but they'd be like pseudo daemonic centaurs, which would at least look mounted. Or just ally in some Chaos Hounds, which while not mounted, are fast to keep up and function as screens, and cheap. Cenitgors as allies maybe but the models are expensive. For the hammer, because sadly Skullcrushers are for some reason not hammers but mere anvils, how about a unit of 6 Varanguard? With Daemonforged Blades they do MW on 6s to hit, and can attack a 2nd time in combat once per game. And of course with Blood Tithe, they could do it again, and again! Pretty tanky themselves too with a 3+ save. And might as well toss in a foot Chaos Lord to make them attack twice, or thrice? Not sure if 3x is possible, but would save some Blood Tithe for other things. Can't think of other cavalry hammers actually. With 18 Skullcrushers, hard to fit in too much after Varanguards. You'll most likely want at least 1 Slaughterpriest, and probably a Bloodsecrator; a Bloodstoker would be good too.
  4. An entire Khorgorath army, with them as battleline if (some unit here) was general would be excellent! Sort of like OBR, but blood constructs instead of bones, but also with skulls, which are the best bones for the best god. I run Beasts of Khorne, but am sorely hating Gors. With Brass Despoilers they fit in as super cheap battleline of course, and make for cheap Tithe points. But seeing that army above, me thinks at least 15 Flesh Hounds might be the new ticket. I like their unbinding ability, and they can actually do something in combat, at least more than Gors ever will. Seems like Karanak would be good to have too, as he can get a free unit of Hounds if he makes it to his quarry. Not sure I want to keep running Beasts of Chaos, just haven't liked how they play, and I hate running hordes of crappy little guys. Of course who knows if I'll still be able to use my Bullgors in Khorne in v3.0 if tome battalions go extinct?
  5. Well if they do come out with Chaos Duardin for real, like plastic GW kits instead FW, I may have to sell off half my other armies to pay for a new army then. Because I already sold my Azgorh army to pay for my new armies a while back. Circle of life..... I expect some solid artillery if this pans out!
  6. So prescient of you! Really neat conversion. I have my claws crossed that the Stardrake and Dracoths will be rightly feared in the next tome, and hopefully a Stardrake general will make Dracoths battleline. That would make Kragnos really mad.
  7. I was about to start assembling a Skyborne Slayers army but I agree, it will probably not make it into a new Stormcast tome. And who knows what other changes v3.0 will bring. I'm just hoping my Stardrake and Dracoths get a battalion all their own, and Dracoths become battleline if the general is on a Stardrake, cuz Kragnos needs something to really hate.
  8. You can always come over to Chaos; Slaves to Darkness can have plenty of sorcerer action with units that could be mostly dead and animated by warp-magic alone.
  9. Did Cockatrices change at all with the BR book? Or is an army full of those still a 'viable' thing? It's just so ridiculous, but I wouldn't mind trying the flock for giggles.
  10. I think the giant Khorne Dragon is actually more appealing than Kragnos, aside from costing an extra US$440, and being FW resin, and having a base the size of a standard sheet of paper.
  11. Welp, that article convinced me to paint up my Mournfangs and run the Eurlbad. Thanks, PlasticCraic! Gonna have to see what my FLGS even has in stock anymore, they haven't been open for over a year (cuz virus), and still don't want to open for gamers who can prove they're vaccinated. But at least they'll have at least one Kragnos model in stock, as I'm not taking him.
  12. Do we really think Battletome Battalions are going away? Or are we just getting those Core Battalions in addition to our tomes' options? I am fearful my Bullgors and Khorne models won't get to play together if we lose the tome battalions. My Ogors don't care as much, though losing the Goremand and Eurlbad would kinda suck.
  13. Spell Eater Curse does not unbind a spell. It makes it so the spell is not successfully cast. Auto cast just means successfully cast without rolling for it, counting as 12 in that Teclis case. So the Spell Eater Curse does negate Teclis' super ability there.
  14. Yeah, that would help him out, but also erase the advantages of my Stonehorn and SoBs army. Made up my mind I'll just not get Kragnos and use my prepayment as store credit for other things; 760 points will just not be viable. Guess I should hold off of other things though as these new rules rumors make me too uncertain of how I will want my armies to reshape.
  15. Do these apply if using a Blades of Khorne army with Brass Despoilers? Also is there a leak somewhere saying that battalions are going away? I keep seeing mentions of this but no blurry pictures or anything. Cuz then I pretty much won't be using my Beasts at all as Beasts of Khorne is my preferred and only winning way of running my Bullgor heavy forces.
  16. What's the favorite artefact for a Gatebreaker General? Portcullis seems decent enough for a 6++, I mean anything vs MW is welcome. But I'm almost leaning towards Chamon's Perfect Plate of of Protection for some anti rend-1. Also, for his Command Trait, Monstrously Tough or Extremely Bitter? I'm going with Bossy Pants tomorrow as hitting vs the support heroes is very key to making the little enemies more vulnerable. But having at least the General hitting also vs say Idiots with Flags might be a good way to go vs screen units. 5 extra wounds is pretty solid too though. Louder than Words seems possibly good too.
  17. Oh, wow, I really didn't think they'd be going away. But I'm guessing Ironguts will still be good anyways. Or maybe some Maneaters might make for a nice change of pace? They seem like a nice in between, and with their run n charge bonus effect they could be a good shock unit.
  18. Old forgotten Malal is whispering to use him in every game 11 times to master his utility. But the Gulping God grumbles that I should save the money as store credit for more Gutbusters....and candy and chips. I'm not sure which voice to listen to.
  19. One thing he really should have had is an ability to leap over units much like Megagargants do with Longshanks. At least on a 2+ or something, and on a 1 he can't jump that high. I mean, he is super huge with a giant powerful behind! Saw a closer up picture of his mace and shield, those are some nice bits. The mace almost looks flexible, like bound fibers for the shaft. A giant black-jack of sorts. Looks like for his Rampaging Destruction charge if he charges into multiple units, he can do D6 MW to each on a 2+, OR he can pick 1 monster to do the big MW to; but not both. If he can make it into multiple smaller units at once, that would be the ideal target point. Plus then if he takes some wounds back he can yell at them for even more MW. And wreck their houses. RAWR!
  20. I'm almost thinking a wizarding army casting Life Swarm and Cogs and Prismatic Palisade (to block some LOS) would make Kragnos pretty good, even if he is like 700+ points. Not that Destruction has the best wizardry, but some can get pretty decent casting rolls off. Skragrott or a Fungoid Shaman for example. Guess we'll just have to be patient to see the real lowdown.
  21. Here's my new idea for a mass of Ironguts: no Tribe Tyrant (general, Crushing Bulk, Longstrider, Ghur's Gutplate maybe?) Slaughtermaster (Bloodfeast, Bloodrock Talisman) 3x8 Ironguts (battleline) 2x20 Gnoblars, maybe 1x40 instead for less drops Tyrants Gutguard extra CP 1990 total The Tyrant could make all 3 units of Ironguts fearless on turn 1 I think with 3 CPs to start. Bloodfeast to give a unit an extra attack, which on Ironguts is awesome. Gonna give it a whirl next time I get a chance with Gluttons proxying as Ironguts.
  22. I just saw the blurry Italian points cost. Clearly those are metric points. American points should be less because of the conversion formulas. If I'm incorrect in that assumption, I'm gonna just have to resell him and get more Leadbelchers, a Tyrant, maybe some more Ironguts, Gnoblars, and an Ironblaster.
  23. Ooh that's weird looking! Very golem-ish.
  24. I am, I ordered one/paid already. I'm sure he won't be super great afterall but darn it, I like the model. Looking forward to making the crustiest bronzeyist ancient shield possible.
  25. I went ahead and prepaid/preordered a Kragnos. I do like the model, and am hoping we'll be pleasantly surprised at his points cost and/or BR rules accompaniments. However my model purchases are often like my stock picks, they perform like ****** once I buy them. Guess I shoulda gotten like 14 more Leadbelchers to make an Underguts army. Oh well, at least AMC stonk is up!
