  1. I think we're in good shape! Looks like only the A-rok Shaman went up by 15 points. Possibly the Warparty A-Rok a bit but I'm more interested in running 2 big Shaman, 2 Skitterstrands, 6x5 Spiderriders, 2 Fungoid Shamans, and a little Web Shaman, plus a couple endless spells. This will be a thinking arachnid's army now with all the CA/CP business, plus monsters and magic stuff.
  2. Oh wow I didn't notice that Battleline part either! Now I feel alive again
  3. Well I'll still run my Gluttons, as they're all nicely painted so it would suck to try and convert them to Maneaters. So I'll make some Maneaters! Still Gluttons with IronFists can get some MW in if they take a whole bunch of saves. Maybe bless them with a 6++ from HoTT and add an All Out Defence vs a nonrendy enemy? Leadbelchers should be able to Unleash Hell with D6 shots per dude I think, so that's something maybe worth extra points?
  4. Hmmm, well I saw this leaked photo, and I'm thinking of selling off 1 Gatebreaker and 3 Mancrushers, as I don't want to make another 3 Mancrushers to run a SoB army, much less with only 1 Gatebreaker. Pretty lame. I have plenty of Stonehorns anyways for a monster mash. Then I could be fiscally responsible and keep Kragnos in the box until we see if he gets a green blood transfusion!
  5. Guess that's worth a wait'n'see.
  6. I'm gathering by the lack of posting that NOBODY thinks Kragnos is worth taking now. He's going on eBay then.
  7. That would be worth putting Skarbrand in the Vanguard Core Battalion! And have the Thirster near him with the 6" pilein thing (Unfettered Fury?). I've got Khorne Mortals, but the daemons are starting to whisper to me now....
  8. I just made 10 skullreapers but they’ll do nicely in units of 5. Shame we can’t bloodstoker three units with one stoker though, he’s got a triple whip! My next idea for Khorne is triple Daemon princes with two or three mindstealer sphiranxes to AoS the army in striking first This will help mitigate the MSU effect to some extent Could be good for Nurgle and Slaanesh and Tzeentch too....but those gods suck 😛 allied plague priest though is good
  9. Oh that's a good point. I have read others thinking there's no point to Grand Alliances anymore, with Morathi as an example of how not all of Order is orderly and together. Skaven don't play with Chaos either, and Ogors can't ally with any but Troggs. Such utter bleak hopelessness, and it's not even 40k!
  10. The changes to coherency are kinda bad for our spider-riders, as they need units of 10 for the drummer and icon don't they? Feels like most of them won't get to bite. But should be easy to fill out some core battalions, though I'm bummed about not having the Skitterstrand Nest anymore for Matched Play. Anybody have some strategies brewing in their minds about the new edition? Thought I read somewhere Gitz were on the forefront of the batteltome update list. Frankly I might just go endless spell heavy with like 3 Webspinner A-roks. That's a change I've been liking the looks of. Scuttletide can be twice as annoying for people! And I think Emerald Lifeswarm will be very useful as well. Can't remember what Malevolent Moon does but looks so cool I'll paint it up for sure.
  11. Maybe he'll have some goodies in the Destruction Allegiance in the Core Rulebook. That's the only thing left besides a 200 point drop in the GHB that might make me want to use him.
  12. Can't his monster rampage thing prevent the Unleash Hell?
  13. Right, 4 drops: 1 drop from the Battle Regiment and then 3 from the units in the Command Entourage. I saw somewhere that the least drops 'steals the initiative'. Hard to say if that means players roll off for the initiative but a lower drop count can steal it from the roll-winner or if it's like now where the lowest drop-count just wins the initiative.
  14. I feel like an ambush CA would have been a nice one to add to generic list. Tomorrow I might do a preliminary practice match between my Khorne mortals and Ogors just to see how some of what we know plays out.
  15. Do we know if allied units will be able to count towards Core Battalions or not? If not I don't think we'll be seeing too much of Kragnos being used at all.
  16. D'oh! Just saw those today. Looking at the new Core battalions, could do something like: Command Entourage: FLoSH, 2x Slaughtermasters Battle Regiment: Butcher, 2x8 Ironguts, 1x4 Ironguts Bloodgullet, yadda yadda.....depending on points changes, there's 80 points wiggle room in that, and 4 drops. Not bad.
  17. What the heck are those?! A Kraken-eater shouldn't be that crappy in combat; and that named Tyrant is no picnic either.
  18. Units like Bestigors who can run and charge will be in great shape with that new Core Battalion who can use at the Double for free. Hmmm, HMMMM.
  19. I already have a friend who's griping about his Tzeentch Horror Spam Changehost is in jeopardy I won't miss that army if it goes or....changes!
  20. No worries, we'll all have to buy new updated Battletomes within the next year probably
  21. Thinking about Sons of Behemat, I don't see how they can really do any of the core battalions with 3 Megagargants. LAME.
  22. Stormcast and Lumineth and Kruleboyz too with all their ballistas, and Khorne with Skullcannons! And if they're not Legends yet, Legion of Azgorh.
  23. I think with the new Endless Spell rules the Lifeswarm will be really useful.
  24. I remember the good old days when the Stoker could stoke anyone, including Skarbrand! Perhaps they could get the universal effect back with a tradeoff....roll a D6, and on a 1 the unit gets angry and strikes back at the Bloodstoker and does a MW, but on a 2+ they are whipped to a frenzy. Seems fair to me.
  25. With the Skaven Lightning Cannon, the roll just determines the power of the attack and is not a hit, wound, or save roll. If he had the battalion called Arkhspark Voltyk, 1 Cannon in the battalion can be chosen and subtract 1 from the power roll....so if he rolled a 2, that becomes a 1, and all 12 dice roll equal to or greater than 1, and thus 12 mortal wounds! Not something any but Rockgut Troggoths can withstand. But rats die to vomit very easily, besides straight-up squishing with big hands.
