  1. What kind of creature is the godbeast? I feel like that would give us a good visualization of how the landscape would form around such a huge skeleton. Depending on how many ribs are on the skeleton we decide on we could use that to determine how many magic users we would need for our ruling council. Another thing that got me thinking is the Ossaiarch Bonereapers. A place like this made of bone and magic out the wazzu would be a prime target for them. All I can think of is it is just too far from Shyish for them to have gotten there yet or the skeleton isn’t made from bone in the first place . Maybe a form of stone but then there are the petrifex elite guys who use fossils. We could opt for it to be made of some magical stone that defies logic just to make it unappealing to the Ossiarchs. I just want to put it out there that I think one of the stable human shanty towns shanty towns should be called “Bone Town”.
  2. It’s been a while since I’ve posted on here but a recent thread got me thinking of my unfinished projects. I based a bunch of my treekin I had soaking some December when I got them as a gift for Christmas. A cheap 20 us and 5 months and I gave a cool unit. I plan on getting the treelord from that generation as well. If I was to play I would hope my opponent wouldn’t care if I allied them in. Summon a lifeswarm next to them and they could do their job. My next aspersions are to get 3 sets of wyldwoods to decorate. On my productive side I have begun a 40k army as I like the direction they are going by moving the story along. I hope you guys don’t mind but here are my Ynnari war band. It started by chance of two sets of scourges and a headless Farseer and a few dire avengers with a metal harlequin lead me to pursue the project as a way to collect models from all kinds of factions and editions all the way back. After I finish touching up the last few wyches and such I am going to do a batch of old dire avengers that would be a fun destraction. I have a set of Thundewolf Cavalry as well as Necron Warriors I intend to paint for fun. I have a set of clanrats and bloodletters I might build and paint. I have a considerable Tzeentch army I expanded on and sold but was returned that I have been sitting on the fence about keeping and I am at the point that I am going to keep it and paint it to be something worthy of my tribute to my first true army.
  3. I’m not sure about pocket realms hurdling through the realm of chaos. Maybe a hidden realm gate leads there and chaos cults use it to move in reinforcements or flee if need be. i was thinking more on the duality if the Azyrite faiths versus those that we considered heresy to build on my earlier post with vampire covens masquerading as nobles and Nagasaki death cults preying on the downtrodden using them as will vessels of sacrifice to fuel the power of the necromantic cabals. You could have slanneshi pleasure cults, Nurgle plague congregations, Tzeentch cabal meetings as much as hidden Khornate gladiatorial fight clubs . Maybe separate the city by segregation based on class instead of race so the rich have the best defensive parts of town alll the duardin, aellves, and oomgi ass have to dwell in close confines. question is do the dominate the landscape around their city with outposts and free guild forts all over the place. one thing I think we should all do is try and write from the perspective of the characters or armies you would prefer to be canon there like how there are shameless plugs for all the new kits in the BL literature that comes out with a release. It’s a good technique to try and narratively make a mediocre or bad unit you like seem awesome in the lore. Sell your arguments you know.
  4. What realm should this take place in? Should there be a situation like Hammerhal where trade is from the realmgate or like Excelsis where trade is done based on a magic substance like a realmstone? I think if we stick with a realm they have talked about a lot then it would give us a better framework to build on as well as providing how the laws of physics function there. What type of god beast are we talking here? Like an Ignax level power or something more like the squig one that burned up in the sun. I think something like the lodestone griffin from Chamon would be cool where it is so powerful on its magical nature that it warps reality around it.
  5. i think we should just start coming up with ideas and once there are a bunch you start the voting. I vote a Tzeentch cult rooted deep in the city with all that entails. Maybe Nagash Worshippers corrupting people to necromancy resulting in gang wars between the two
  6. I would be interested in writing something once you all have it hashed out which way you want the setting to go. I tried this same exercise and it helped motivate me to paint which is always a good thing. I do think posting writing to the forums is the way to go so we can represent TGA. Maybe that’s the name of the ruling body in the setting.
  7. They look a lot like some I did when they first came out
  8. I posted on the discussion but I feel like I’ve seen the name Celennar before. Do you happen to know if I’m just crazy or was it in one of those books? also with their new name I feel like they are gonna be elven expansionists with a sprinkling of genocide mixed in.
  9. I know this is a bit vague but I remember somewhere there was a mention of Celennar somewhere in a Battletome.
  10. I wonder if they’re gonna continue down this train of inventing new monsters like the mount for the new chaos lord and the Idoneth King’s seahorse with their new mounts. It seems they are trying to lean as far away from horses as they can with the newer Aelfs
  11. Trust me that’s a the better path hahaha.
  12. Made quite a bit of progress on these guys, the contrast paint with a light dry brush really made a good looking effect.
  13. This is the first time I’ve used contrast paint on anything and I feel like I used it the right way but the way it runs on flat surfaces and often leaves difficult to reach areas like the tops of these kurnoths is kind of frustrating as you need to use a light base coat for them. I think it works better than just slapping agax earthshade on them but I’ll relegate this stuff to just another tool I can use to diversify my color range in my Sylvaneth collection. As an aside here are some better pictures of my durthu who has become a point of shame and pride at the same time. Some of the yellow looks good but most of it is just embarrassing. i gotta say that compared to how I painted when I stared this blog I have come a long way and that taking a step back to recollect and fix things like this guy has made it a fun learning experience. I’m really looking forward to getting these treekin stripped and built.
  14. I’m kind of excited to see where they go after the the malign portents arch is over with.
  15. I made a little progress on my tree-revenants and arch revenant. I dry brushed a tan/grey Mix to try and brighten them up. I did a little on the durthu as well. Let me know what you think.
  16. if Tyrion and Malerion both get new factions how many Aelven armies would there be? A dozen including the Cities of Sigmar subfactions?
  17. During the end times he undid the magic vortex that siphoned off most of the power from the winds of magic in a gambit to infuse the winds into himself to become powerful enough to stem the tide of chaos but it backfired on him. He acted as Lileath’s catspaw in the beginning of the end times.
  18. Bretonnia wasn’t very noblebright lol. The disparity between peasants and knights was so greater than in the real feudal system. Apparently Mannfred sold those guys out to Chaos which is weird because they went to the effort to come up with the story. Though to be fair the End Times was a huge chuck of lore to digest in such a short time.
  19. I have a feeling teclis is going to make another vortex of magic to try and mitigate the damage from the necroquake.
  20. That is unfortunate. I’m sure some people wouldn’t be apposed to using them in either of those ways. Which warscroll would be appropriate the greatswords or scythes?
  21. I recently got 8 Treekin and I was wondering how I could bring them into a Sylvaneth army as allies as they are classified as Wood Elves under the alliance matrix. Does anyone know a way to keep the Sylvaneth allegiance and still field these guys?
  22. You keep whipping that Sylvaneth army. Why doesn’t he bring numbers to counter your big bricks? Even with gnarroot Sylvaneth would be hard pressed to be skaven in the hero phase with 3 verminlords casting on top of the Grey seer and ikit klaw
