Nice work, I had to look closely before I noticed they were on individual bases on a larger tray, it blends very nicely. It's a nice pale blue colour that you've used and the extra little details like the bats look great. The Troll Hag's tree staff is maybe a little bit over the top though, most of the spindly bits would break off as she carries it.

Thanks guys, the idea came while listening to an episode of Facehammer, I think Russ said something along the lines of yellow being an aggressive colour which I very much agree with and he's done a cool stylized Bloodbound army with lots of blood which got me thinking of doing the yellow with lots of blood for the blood god.
The straps were going to be brown but I was really trying to limit the colour palate used on the model to cool colours other than the yellow, so I went with the blue/green, I might actually tint these more towards the green. I'll try and take some better pictures when he's finished, the yellow is a little bit more orangey brown looking (like JCB yellow) than it looks in the photo. I think my camera picks up a bit too much green or something.

Thanks Ben, it's Vallejo Extra Opaque Heavy Goldbrown, with some GW Tau Light Ochre to shade and GW Ushabti Bone to highlight.

Next up; I've finished the Spiderfang Grotlings and the Blue Horrors...
I purchased a Tzeentch Screamer Chariot kit to upgrade my Silver Tower set, you get 3 Blue Horrors, a Herald, an Exalted Flamer and 2 Screamers, so it's a good value way to bolster the dark minions of Tzeentch. I did a little hand swap on the Silver Tower Horrors as well so they aren't exactly the same, one has a clenched fist the other an open hand. Actually now I look at them I realize I haven't finished painting the teeth on the one on the right. In fact the ones from the chariot kit I painted after the Silver Tower ones need another highlight on the skin to get them to match. I wanted to give them a very bright magical look. The main colour I used was Baharroth Blue (Edge) washed with Coelia Greenshade. blended to Fulgrim Pink (Edge) on the tentacle tips.
The Spiderfang Grots were slightly more difficult to paint, I wasn't as impressed with the detail on the Grots, it's a bit soft sculpted is the only way I can describe it, (might just be the way they had to go on the sprues), the teeth for example really need to be painted properly as triangles and I haven't done this properly on all of them yet. The eyes are also a bit tricky, I did paint pupils on one of them but it sort of looks weird as theres 4 eyes and not to mention its a pain getting the brush in there.

These look great. I was wondering what size bases have you gone for with the Free Peoples as I need to try and get mine rebased at some point?
Thanks, I went with 25mm for the rank and file and put all the characters on the size up (32mm). For the Cav I'm using the 60x35mm and then with the mounted characters the slightly larger 75x46mm ones. The Warmachines are on 90x52mm bases.

Nice stuff, I love the use of the classic WHQ archway, it fits perfectly.

Good work, I ordered the chariot too as it is a great value way to add some exotic enemy types to WHQ.

I love the classic blue scheme, the snow bases work really well with it and is a little unusual on Lizards, good work!

Lovely paintjob I really like the burnished gold on his shield in particular.

It's really cool to see the full starter set ready to get painted. You've done a great job of undercoating that cardboard, I think you've missed a few patches on the models though!

This is a cool army, the fact you did it in 3 days is impressive. The tufts will definitely improve the look, the other thing that stands out as a bit rough is the teeth/horn/bone colour on the Araknaroks, it could do with a bit of sepia shading or something.

Nice start, the colour theory is good with the purple and green, although a purple base traditionally looks a bit odd it kind of works for AoS. Have you got a realm in mind where these bases represent, maybe metal, death or shadow? An idea for you: you could use small patches of crushed purple amethyst crystal on the bases instead/as well as, static grass tufts. This way you could paint the bases a more natural colour eg. brown or grey but still have purple on the base to contrast the green. This could represent the mineral rich terrain of the realm of metal maybe. If it was realm of metal some kind of wire bristles would make cool "grass" maybe from electrical wire.

My Yellow Bloodbound

Although I've not finished the first one I've now painted another Slaughterpriest as I wasn't 100% sure about the blue spot colour with the yellow, and I wanted to try green, (maybe a more foresty green would have been better) but I think I'm leaning towards the original blue now anyways, opinions welcome.
Again I still intend to add more blood effects, just want to get the colour scheme down before I do. I highlighted the skin properly on this second one and I'm fairly pleased with it but I'm actually starting to doubt the brass trim, I painted it more gold looking on the second model, maybe I need to try silver trim or even just all yellow on some of the core starter set dudes... Not sure.
