  1. We found it was a passion project of some of the design studio staff. It was probably green lit for a few reasons: it helped consolidate a lot of lines that weren't quite ready for retirement, supported the discontinuing of Grand Alliance: Order and helped tidy the website up considerably. It also gave every current model a home in battle tome which is a selling and accessibility point for the game as a whole. I suspect that this range will change and evolve drastically as the new lore is realised but for it to go away altogether - possible yes but unlikely is my guess.
  2. I second the comment that he was highly influential for Age of Sigmar. It is pretty clear that the design studio prioritises their thoughts over the ideas of Black Library authors but Josh's vision seemed to resonate across the entire enterprise. He really helped me get into the background and I am very grateful for that. Thank you Josh and best wishes for your future endeavours.
  3. I think the timing is awkward. Your customers are doing it tough and the economy is shrinking. Not sure the price rise is a very good idea.
  4. The new book is looking fabulous - well done Cubicle 7! I wonder if those minor typos will be fixed in the print version? As much as I would love to have a physical book right now, one of the advantages of releasing first in a PDF first is the opportunity to have a large number of eyes to spot issues before it is printed.
  5. I found the Stormcast really engaging in Fury of Gork and Soul Wars. I know I am mentioning a lot of Josh Reynolds but I have been a fan of his stuff since Spear of Shadows and that has led me to seek out more of his books.
  6. What a beautiful collection of models @hughwyeth great stuff! Funny, I have been thinking of doing the Tidecaster to add to my line up of heroes - such an amazing model.
  7. I gave Warbeast a go for me under similar circumstances to @RandyRyan but it just didn't grab me and I couldn't finish it. Really early Age of Sigmar was still finding its stride so maybe Warbeast is not that good for new readers?
  8. I struggled with Pestilens - just couldn't finish it, didn't grab me.
  9. City of Secrets is by far my favourite. Shout out to Fury of Gork (love this one!), Spear of Shadows (great) and The Silver Shard (absolute cracker).
  10. @Ravinsild, for what it's worth I think setting small achievable goals is the way to go. Getting all that done would indeed be a cracking month for me - best of luck!
  11. It hasn't been mentioned either way as far as I am aware. The lack of lore suggests that such beings are at most very rare. It also suggests that although Aelves, Duardin and humans have lived side by side for generations, these peoples are resistant to allowing others into their ancient traditions. Sigmar's peoples are portrayed as far from enlightened; we have blood crazed cultists and soul-theives amongst their number. Some game settings specifically don't allow this. The Elder Scrolls lore for example has stated that offspring take the racial attributes of their mother. This is also a possible explanation for Warhammer. If you were thinking of converting up half-aelves or half-duardin for your army/include in your RPG I say go for it. The mortal realms are a big place after all and they may very well exist somewhere out there.
  12. @michu, they are all cracking ideas. How cool and appropriate would a Realmwalker be! I am a massive Freeguild fan too so there’s that. I’d love to see a Cogsmith.
  13. I am in love with that Tidecaster model at the moment. I was wondering, lore wise aren’t the Deepkin extremely reclusive? Have there been any examples in the lore of Tidecasters working with other factions? What sort of conceit would you need to have them party up with other Order heroes?
  14. I was thinking of using trello for my Shadows over Hammerhal project.
  15. Little one is seven months. I nearly convinced myself to do a five hour drive to get Leena when she came out. The listings I have seen have been very pricey. Couldn't find anything on eBay yesterday. I am hopeful GW will redo the original Stormcast sometime in the future though and include women in these units.
  16. This is terrific - well done on the game design. Reminds me of an introductory mini-game I did for my cousin where a small band of dwarves went off in search of a missing miner. There were three areas of the battlefield out of line of sight from the dwarves deployment zone. When the dwarves established line of sight with one of these areas they flipped a chit to see if they had found the dwarf. When found, the dwarf was placed in combat with on Ogre. The party had to rush in and save the dwarf. Like your battle it was close and exciting! Love the kickin' fighting women in your battle report. I have a (baby) daughter and painting up some of the fantastic characters like Leena, Larissa and Neave is very high on my list to do for when she grows up. Top stuff @Kramer
  17. Okay, you've hooked me. Let us know how this goes...
  18. I am GM for our Shadows over Hammerhal play through and am preparing and researching for it now. I think it is going to be cracker. Having a lot of fun thinking about how the background will inform my exotic adversary choices and how we can play the Cinderfall section as an almost-RPG. I'll be interested in following your progress @amysrevenge!
  19. Not yet but our group finished Silver Tower in January which I have painted. Once Hammerhal is all painted up we’ll give it go. I am really, really looking forward to it.
  20. Wow, can't trump that Katakros but I finished Golnir Coalbeard and Archimaine for Shadows over Hammerhal.
  21. No way am I going to do this. I've carefully stuffed my boxes in all the hidden corners of my house so I can live in denial. If my wife saw it all at once I'd be in real trouble!
  22. I wonder with people who anticipate being stuck at home will buy up on GW stuff to paint and build during this time?
  23. All those wonderful adepticon organisers and attendees will get what is sure to be an especially grand one next year. Maybe I’ll have to get myself over to the US for the next one.
