  1. They were part of Chaos Dwarves army in warhammer fantasy, but do hobgoblins even exist in AoS? im not fully familiar with all the lore. They are not with the Legion of Azgorth now, think they were mentioned in the old compendium but only in terms of using standard goblin rules for the old models.
  2. I have 5 gyro (only 2 painted so far), they will be my Ironweld Air Wing ?. Probably have to stick with GA or city allegiance if thats your plan too.
  3. Its 1 in 4, so 5 gyro (or total allies) would require 20 units in the army, not that it really helps any. But matched play gyro units are max of 1 model per unit.
  4. We know GW works on a long timeframe, they know when they want to drop stuff at least 2 years in advance. Sales have little short term impact but will influence future sales predictions.
  5. Where do you get these impressions from? 'spells here to stay' 'realm stuff goes away' 'battletome is a seal of protection' They have built AoS2 around realms, its in the core rulebook! They are releasing spells and we know they are coming for other factions, there is a big expensive box of them, of course they are here to stay. AoS factions are here to stay and have been since AoS came out, battletome or not - compendium factions are temporary as they have always stated they were.
  6. With Mhornar you can play the opponent a bit to let you take second turn, you just need to remind them of your potential threat range and how much damage your skyhooks could do. Drop your first unit in the center and they then panic deploy on the back line to keep out of range turn one... then you give them the turn ?. Its a great way to keep magic out your face for a few turns as all their casters are out of range. As you say though, if the opponent is fast it can be risky as they can possibly still get to you or at least take objectives and it can be hard to take them back. Playing KO different ways is good fun though. Well done on your tournament results.
  7. A 2k list requires 3 battleline. The Iron Sky Squadron is just something you have in your list, it doesnt change any of the minimum or maximum stipulations of the list. Thankfully the Iron Sky Squadron actually allows you 2+ Arkanaut units, so you could have all 3 in the squadron if you wanted, even with only 2 frigates.
  8. Dispossessed have the ability to cross the whole table over the course of the game as long as you dont get suckered into holding a defensive line the entire time, a gunline list will do that. If you want rapid response then allies like Palladors are good, as are Prosecutors, or Kharadron Riggers or skywardens if you prefer punch over survivability.
  9. He has put some posts about his games on one of the Kharadron Facebook groups (cant do a link sorry)
  10. Same for UK store. Just means they are not re-printing for a while, probably to avoid confusion with the new 40k version. If people have a keen interest in buying it enough of them need to email GW and get a re-print scheduled.
  11. Sounds like a good fun mix to me. Options wise try to keep a single weapon type per Arkanaut unit, makes it easier to augment them with the Khemist but also makes it simpler to use them with one weapon type, of course Skyhooks are the best so build/convert as many of those as you can (or at least convert 2 more to go with the 4 youll have so you can have one unit of 20 arkanuats with 6 skyhooks). For the Arkanaut company captians build them with the multi-barrel gun, not saying that its best, but rolling an extra dice when shooting is easier than remembering to have 2 dice that have a different wound roll ?. Riggers are good fun, i like Skywardens but my unit is always added only after ive got enough riggers in my list, if you only have 6 build riggers with saws and maybe 1 (or 2 instead if you want to play a bit more movement based) grapnels. Have fun, and if youve not painted an Arkanuat yet do a test model, they have loads of detail and it can be a struggle to come up with a scheme if youve not worked out what the colours will be for all the different materials and textures they have.
  12. Fishing? you realise GW is doing better at the moment than they ever have and have whole departments who look at where gaming is going and where they can make money. "refresh this or that" = count yourself lucky they keep the range supported and dont just cut it entirely, the amount of players they would alienate would be far less than what they would get back investing into new things.
  13. Sweet, there it is! Must have missed this being shared anywhere (dont really visit 212 directly) EDIT: Although the Munitions hub already seems eclipsed by the Killzone Munitorum, odd.
  14. Probably right about not wanting to release info. The previous big scenery sets were leaked in Feb 2017 and 'revealed' in Oct for Nov purchase, they probably did an early order request with retailers to have time to make up enough stock to meet demand. I was just wondering if the same was happening this year. Likely similar sets will be coming but GW just decided to make X amount based on sales expectation and not leak any early info. Here was the previous leak. http://natfka.blogspot.com/2017/02/big-games-workshop-terrain-sets-coming.html
  15. Does anyone know if the Xmas bundle store pre-orders were announced this year? I remember last year we knew about a lot of paint and scenery bundles that were coming as GW sent out a pre-order list to stores way in advance.
  16. Given a Kharadron frigate is supposed to hold several dozen Arkanauts on its deck by the literature, I think you can probably scale the walls back a bit and still be 'in scale' ?
  17. Yeah Arkanaut pistols are very under-rated, i find they can be very effective. A unit of 30 will have 20 weilding pistols plus their captains, potentially 43 shots, 64 if you khemist buff. Weight of dice can do a lot of damage if they can survive to do it. Not convinced by the Navigator though. Any flying enemy beginning their move within 18" means they are already on me, most flying units are 12-18" movement so even half that they are already an easy charge away, especially as the navigator will typically be behind your own units making charges even shorter.
  18. It depends what he wants to run, if he loves the boats then he might struggle running a few of them, but the rest of the troops have positives and negatives. There is a lot of firepower available, you need to learn how to use it. Some match ups can be very difficult (nighthaunt ignoring rend for example, is hard to deal with but possible), but that seems to be the way the game works at the moment, all armies have matchups they are a disadvantage in.
  19. So make worse options seem better by making the 3 good (and 3 poor) options worse? seems a bit odd. Why not give custom ports option of 2 footnotes or 2 something else, the named ports already get a named footnote PLUS a generic one anyway.
  20. Love the guy on the left, good upgrades! ?
  21. Official base size doc is officially just a recommendation. Dont worry about it (and they were on 32mm in the doc initially, but changed for some reason)
  22. The core rules state an army can have allegiance to a Faction if they all have the keyword, that means you dont have to be a Faction if you want to be GA Order, as long as you dont take any battleline-if as battleline. The Allegiance abilities quoted above is for the GHB, states you must take them if allegiance abilities exist for a faction army. If you have not chosen to build a faction army then the rule does not apply IMO.
  23. That states faction army. When building an army you choose faction first, so Order Draconis, this gives you options open to them when building the army (battleline-if) and means you must use their allegiance abilities if they exists, if it doesnt you can use GA allegiance. If you pick GA as your faction you have specific options when building the army (no battleline-if). This rule is designed to stop things like Ironjawz lists picking destruction instead of Ironjawz, so getting the benefit of battleline-if options and then choosing different allegiance abilities.
