thanks bud, looking forward to it tonight, Skirmish is always good fun. Will be good to see your venetian court, shame you can't get any of the manticores into a warband though.

thanks. Yeah the Reaver heads are from the Marauder horsemen. Through out the army mainly marauder horsemen heads and a few space wolf heads on the elite guys and characters.

Hobby time has been pretty slow over the past few months but starting to get better. I’ve finally managed to finish a few more units and nearly finished on the warshrine. Garrek’s Reavers for Shadespire, though will also use them as Reavers in the army. 20 Reavers with meatripper axes and a couple of hours extra command teams in case I want to run multiple units of 10. WIP pics of the warshrine, nearly done just the base and banner to finish Priest of Ulric (Shrine master) shrine bearers and the Altar of Ulric so far Once the warshrine is finished im going to put this project to bed for a while, but some day I’d like to revisit it with w couple of skull cannons using the ironblaster as a base and eventually a war mammoth, but for now I will start my Stormcast Eternals army. Finally here a pic of the skirmish force I’m going to be taking to an event tomorrow eve, should be fun.

Thanks. That’s my Khorgorath, converted from a Mierce Minis. not yet, it’s been a really busy few months and I haven’t made much hobby progress, but the plan is to have 3 Minotaurs finished for the warband, 20 bloodreavers and then warshrine for Frost wolves finished by end of this year so I’m ready to start a new army in Jan.

in The spirit of this becoming more of a general hobby progress blog I’ve most recently been working on a brayherd themed skirmish warband (which may develop into a full army to replace my old beastmen army pictured above.) I speed built and painted in about 2 weeks to get it ready for Chris Tomlin’s Curse of the Kataphranes skirmish event, so some of it’s a bit rough but hopefully shows the idea for the army. I’ve purposely gone for natural muted tones, brown grey and flesh rather than the bright eye catching colours I usually go for, but hopefully it still comes across as good to look at rather than just a mess of brown. ive only taken proper photos (or as proper as I can at least) of the beastlord and shaman but will get some pics of the rest soon, also have two Bullgors to finish for it. Shaman: Beastlord: after making these here two guys I’m seriously tempted to do an ironjawz army converted to a beastmen theme!

No problem, please do share, would love to see your take on it. in all honesty I struggle with free stuff myself, I try to use bits as much as possible and avoid sculpting from scratch to limit the green stuff to fur or gap filling. are you UK based? If so i’d Recommend www.bitsandkits.com for bits, they have a 33% sale off at the moment and restock regularly. Bitzbox.co.uk is another good one. Hardest part is planning what bits to use, but price isn’t always a problem e.g. I think my skull reapers and wrathmongwrs actually ended up cheaper than the official GW models (though took a lot more work). if you need any advice or suggestions for bits feel free to ask mate

The legs are chaos knights with green stuff to fill gaps to the torso. I chose the less “chaosy” legs too and trimmed back some of the detail.

The legs are a mix of blood warrior and skull reapers. Bodies are beastmen bestigor torsos (have to cut away from legs) and then weapons arms are mix from my chaos bits box. The gorefists are from the Wulfen 40k kit trimmer down.

Are there any rumours about which warbands will be coming out after Death and Ironjawz?

Thanks. funnily enough the idea started as a pic book, then I thought I may as add the scrolls in too for ease of use, then I wrote some fluff... and it just spiralled out of control haha

Thanks. the price wasn't bad actually, with photo box you get a 60 or 70% off voucher as standard on your first book, cost about £20. May have to create a new account when I print the updated version for GHB2 though.

Bit of an update on the Bloodwolves, i've got some WIP shots of my warshrine and shrine master. The base model is a skaven warplightning cannon frame that's been repositioned and had the Skaven emblems scraped off. On top of that i have the very old skaven metal screaming bell chasis complete with bear/wolf pelt rug. The shrine master is based on the darkoath chieftain model, though i'm not currently sold on the head. The shrine will be pushed by Ogor type brutes, made from ironjawz brutes minus the armour and with 40k Bullgryn (sp?) heads.

So i've decided to to rename this PLOG and make it into one area for all of my armies/projects AOS related (it kind of has turned into that already). I'm going to update the first post to include a link and 'contents' section for each of the individual armies. First up i've got my Beastmen which were the first army I've ever painted (not including some terrible Skaven I originally half painted when i was 12/13 and first getting into the hobby.) This was my army back in 8th and will always be my favourite army I think, it was a massive pain to rebase and something i never want to go through again lol! My brother in law is a photographer and took some really good photos (far better than I will ever take) of the army back when it was on square bases (yellow background) and i've taken some post rebasing. Characters - Standard Bearer, Beastlord, Great Bray Shamans Mounted Beastlords (Lord of Chaos on Daemonic Mount) Units: This was very much painted for 8th ed as a horde army so the infantry models themselves are quite rough and ready, one day i'd like to revisit the army and redo the units for AOS and to my hopefully now better ability. Ungor Gor Bestigor Chariots Warherd: Doombull Bullgors Monsters: Gargant I can't actually take all the credit for the conversion as I bought a giant of ebay and it came with a fair bit of GS work already completed, though in a state of disrepair, so i repaired it, made some additional conversions and repainted. Cygor Ghorgon / Soul Grinder Ghorgon Slaughterbrute Hydra Jabberslythe Khorgoraths Razorgors Daemons: Bloodletters Skull Cannons Herdstones I have also had myself printed a "unofficial beastmen battletome" which is essentially a book form of all the warscrolls i used in my beastmen army combined with some fluff and GW artwork from previous editions books. Here's a link to the resource if anyone else would like to use it: and here's some pics of the finished book:
