  1. Agreed. I feel like 3 years is the standard GW medium term time block, and that everything for TOW is set in stone for that period. They are probably in the planning stage for the next 3 years, but a lot of their plans will be contingent on sales at the moment.
  2. Yeah this. AoS SBGL are almost entirely new sculpts now, with they're own somewhat distinct theme. Vampire Counts could be released in TOW with old sculpts and keep the two ranges separate once the last few are reculpted or retired (most notably Graveguard).
  3. All ghosts is a very cool idea, with strong support thanks to Nighthaunt in AoS. However army wide Ethereal seems like a bad idea. Some armies have almost no access to Magic Attacks outside of characters, and they're going to have a miserable time fighting ghosts; others, like Warriors of Chaos, can have Magic Attacks across the board, in which case Ethereal is completely useless points tax. So yeah, I wouldn't say it's a good idea from a game okay point of view.
  4. So many excellent games dropped by GW. Is rare BFG as one of their best games ever. I also want to pour one of for Warhammer Quest (my gateway, asking with CRPGs, into true tabletop role playing) and Man 'O War (who doesn't want a game where High Elves strap a pair of razorblades on the front of a giant catamaran (which has a literal castle at the back) and speed around cutting enemy ships on two).
  5. I only remembered because I read it in, I think, the Goonhammer review of the rules, and was surprised it was needed. 6 with 3 does sound good. I think the cheapness of Night Goblin characters make them really quite good. I'm a sucker for the absurd stats of things like Chaos Lords, but for 30 points for 3 WS 4 Str 4 attacks on a two wound toughness 4 body really is great bang for your buck.
  6. I don't think that's allowed based on the Too Many Characters rule on page 209 of the Core Rules. I think the max you could take is 3 in that frontage (not that that's bad).
  7. My plan is to finally start building some Dark Elf spearmen.
  8. Probably, but there have been metal Black Orc bosses on foot before, and yet GW released a new resin one, so I reckon at least one new generic seems likely.
  9. I think this is probably the right approach to take. Don't get too hopeful and you won't be disappointed. I think, at the moment, I'd assume O&G is the baseline minimum i.e. a handful of resin characters. In this case, I assume we'll get Morghur (like you say), and a generic resin character (Bullgor, Bray Shaman or maybe a Wargor). If we're lucky you'll get more than one generic resin character.
  10. Just a 1 per 1000, so whilst you probably could force an entire army of them, you'd have to take big units to do so, and probably include things like Giants and Goblins etc. to fill in the gaps. Honestly, given this news, it wouldn't entirely surprise me if Bonesplitterz are bright back fur a second round of Arcane Journals stem the line. They are relatively new sculpts by WHFB standards.
  11. Not quite. There are only Orcs in TOW, but fur every 1000 points you are playing you can swap their Light Armour for Frenzy, and if you do you can then buy them War Paint and/or Big Stabbas. Similarly fur Boar Boy Mobs, minus Big Stabbas. So whilst the term "Savage Orcs" isn't used explicitly, they are clearly Savage Orcs.
  12. I'll take Melkhior instead. I prefer his name to be honest 😄 I just live me some Necrarchs.
  13. How about Zacharias the Ever Living as a named character. He seems to be alive at this time, and has been a character before.
  14. Will post a more detailed response later, but with respect to named characters, are Kemmler and Krell around yet? I've always had a soft spot for the Lich Master and his super powered Wight King. As for something completely new, how about a lesser known Von Carstein who somehow survived the Vampire Wars? A chance to create a completely new character. Or if we want to go with a different bloodline my vote would be for a Necrarch or Lahmian. The former could be the prototypical lone necromantic experimenter hiding away in the wilderness, creating necromantic horrors; whilst the latter could be a Lahmian who has enthralled a Border Prince to her will and rules through her puppet. Also, given we can do whatever we want, is there any reason to restrict ourselves to the limitations of GW's Arcane Journals. We can do more than two armies of infamy, or more than three named characters if we want.
  15. Short term? No. I think they'll get the same sort of treatment we've seen with TOW so far i.e. re-release of old kits plus a handful of resin characters and maybe a new plastic kit. Longer term? Maybe. I'd be surprised if GW haven't got a bunch of STLs for new BoC sculpts squirrelled away on their computers, and if they think they'll sell then they'll make them.
  16. This. So much this. I find myself more interested in TOW these days, but I want AOS players to have their cool stuff and enjoy their game!
  17. I'm particular, they should be contractually obliged to be driven by definitely not Bismarck!
  18. If I remember correctly, the Steam Tanks were supposed to have been created Leonardo da Miragliano (definitely completely different to Leonardo da Vinci), and that the secrets of their creation were lost with his death, hence their limited numbers. But having there be more is a fine retcon as far as I am concerned.
  19. Honestly, other than Whitefang, I take all rumours with a pinch of salt.
  20. Colour me unconvinced. If I was going to make safe guesses about what the armies would be, those two would be them. But so far we've seen some fairly unusual stores if infamy (Outcasts and Troll Horde most notably) and I think Middenheim and Nuln are too obvious. Or perhaps I'm just going for something different. I like Middenheim, but I've always thought the Gunnery school was an uninteresting army idea.
  21. I was waiting for reviews, but they've been pretty much useless as they are filled with people being angry at female knights, and knights using bows (the former really doesn't bother me, the latter bothers me a tiny bit, but it's the sure if things I can ignore). I have an audible credit, so I'm tempted to pick it up: do you recommend it?
  22. Seems unlikely in the short term given Chaos Dwarfs are a legacy faction (and they are based on the FW range, who were much less in on the big hat thing). Down the line maybe.
  23. @Beliman it has been a long time since I read any of them, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out I no longer enjoy them like I did when I was 17. I had a similar experience with the Eisenhorn series: I absolutely loved them back then (I reread them so many times), but when I tried to read them again recently they just didn't do it for me anymore. It's not Abnett: I really like his Bequin novels, and his Horus Heresy books as are good as you can expect from a series about child soldiers on steroids having a galaxy spanning civil war because their daddies have daddy issues. I just feel like the world has changed since the Eisenhorn books were written, and they don't quite hit anymore.
  24. Also, warning to anyone who buys Doomseekers: do not under any circumstances, look at them once you've assembled them. Their chains will break if you look at them wrong.
