  1. Wait...oh...damn, you are right 😮 I am sorry, had them somehow confused to be 140/480
  2. That drop in Sequitors was unexpected. In general the drops in the Vanguard Units are nice. I always likes the Palladors and now they seem quite conciderable to use for like 180 Pts for 3.
  3. Checking out the statistics on competetive play, Slaves to Darkness are the single worst army in the meta by results so far: https://thehonestwargamer.com/aos-2-2-final-stats-13th-june-2019/ The only thing lower in the List is Tamurkhans Horde, which simply was never used in a tournament so far. With the Slaanesh Book the only decent list we had was not only nerfed, no, we simply had a key hero removed (So no double fightning of Slaanesh Marked Knights). I am honestly in doubt when we may expect StD to hit the floor. My local GW is even taking the Darkoath Warqueen from the shelfs this week, which also doesn´t seem to be a good sign. Also the Darkoath-Flair teased so far suggest simply a completly different army from what Slaves to Darkness were before. The tribesmen flair has some cool gimmicks but all in all I loves StD for beeing heavy armoured warriors of incredible might. Right now Chaos Warriors are rather a joke. The miniatures may look decent as legacy army, but as soon as any new models hit the table, Warriors just look silly and small due to scale creep. It´s actually a shame that an army I started which so much ambition and which made so much fun to build and paint is now the main reason for frustration in the hobby for me. I am also more and more afraif of what GW will to to the MArk of Chaos-System. I woulnd´t be suprised with GW cutting the marks at some point. Yeah, StD really need some love. Btw.: What was actually the last release we had? Wasn´t it Looncurse? So we are actually over a month with the pipeline beeing stucked by trade war? I am curious in how many releases we may expect, once that GW has a workaround for that. I mean, I wouldn´t wonder if GW original timeline had us already teased the next 1-2 Battletomes already at Warhammer Fest. Maybe thats a reason why Gutbusters/Bonesplitters aren´t about to expect point drops
  4. Gecktron has already pointed out in the Rumour-Thread that it´s easier to understand in a table-Format: You need at least a Leader and a Battleline Unit which are the Main Body. From what I´ve understood anything else is optional. So even BCR should be able to field something within point range
  5. Are you playing StD or a god given Alligience? This has actually a quite big influence as most Greater Daemons often buff units that belong to their god. -> GUOs and Glottkin give Nurgle (Mortals) +1 Attack with their Command Ability -> Various Bloodthirsters give Rerolls for Khorne Units ->Tzeentch Birdie gives a "+X to cast" Aura for Tzeentch Wizzards If your Army is unbound, each of them rather looses in strength as they loose access to their spells, artifacts and traits. Verminlords are too many different Profiles, you would have to check if any one of them has any worth to you. Concider that each buff you can´t use is a part of wasted points in that units profile. This also applies to Archaon, at least as long as he and his Varanguard are not within our Alligience. I´m sorry that this rather looks like a "nope, no real value hidden" post, but until we get that sweet new StD Book we all dream about, we have to stay patient or live with rather expensive and semioptimal units to use as big guys. I for my own started for my StD´s with a Slaughterbrute which was rather meh, then I´ve got a Soul Grinder which was quite ok actually. Then I switched to play StD Alligience into Khorne Alligience, got some buff heroes, some nice hardhitters which StD lack and...yeah, I now play Blades of Khorne until that new book hits the stores.
  6. Another little tought I´ve had: A Daemon Prince of Khorne with the Artifact Blade from Ulgu that gives D6 MW´s on a to Hit of 6+ against Heroes and Monsters is a nice blender. Due to the inherited +1 to hit due to the mark of khorne it already triggers on a 5+, with Killing Frenzy on a 2+. Also, as it has the Daemon-Keyword, you can fight twice when playing the right Slaughterhost.
  7. Hej guys, I need your help. ow can I use Chaos Warriors in a manner that isn´t ending in total disappointment? I always tried the maxed 30 Warriors Blobb along with the Lord on Manticore and other Buffs, but the Warriors ended always being lackluster. What is the magic number to them? 10? 15?
  8. Some nice changes included. I like Prosecutors as Battleline for SCE, althrough I really won´t field them as I hate the models. At least they have a purpose now. Also cheaper Liberators are nice. The Paladin-Drops look too good to be real. 160 for Retributors? I´m in! Btw, I really wonder about the Leviadon Drop. In my local Meta we really do not know how to handle them, especially as the Idoneth Players always uses two of them 😮 Edit: The whole SCE Part is copypasta from the tga stormcast-thread. Therefore we can assume that this leak was not reliable at all
  9. Yeah, I know of these Possibilities But all thoose are at least affected by rend, whilst Idoneth Eels ignore any Rend modifier. While it is hard to stop a unit with a 2+, it is much harder to stop a unit with a 2++, especially when they have enough wounds so Mortal Wounds don´t do harm to them as quick
  10. Oh, you are right...I have mixed up something 😮
  11. We live in the "Age of Silence". An Age in which Rumours are worth more then any amount of Urgold to a Fyreslayer! And therefore, to read the future, TGA Members try to use stellar (release) patterns to scry for the future! This beeing said: As long as we do not have Sylvaneth Released, we really cannot say anything about more Tomes being released. I guess 40k and Chaos Knights will be stuck in the Pipeline, too, but arent as "hot" as Sylvaneth due to the Looncurse Box. I am a bit exhausted of posting "Yeah! StD will be the next ones!" as I did it for some weeks now and was always wrong~ But Overreads assumption that the Release will be related to Warcry sounds good to me. But yeah, Specialist Games, GHB19, new Paints, Warhammer 40k Stuff like Apocalypse and new Vehicles, all will be filling the next 2 Months of release space. I also wouldn´t expect any big new announcements from GW until Warhammer Fest.
  12. Yeah, you are right! Thanks! And I always wondered how GW would print such a cheese like a 2+ Invul Save in AoS
  13. If you want a easy to build, fast, and sturdy Army, Beastclaw Raiders may be a valid option. Each of them is a bulk that can tank a huge ammount of damage, is killy and the low model count makes armybuilding easier. And they are cheap due to the amazing SC!-Box. Another option is an Troggoth Only Gloomspite Army. You field ~7 Models in 1k Games and the Stone-Troggoth are really nuts for the enemy to take down due to their hide-skill. And Fellwater-Troggoths in case you want to vomit onto your enemy when facing that guy. Then there are the Cavalary-Armies: Soulblights (or tweaked into Legion of Blood) or Order Draconis can field about 1 Hero on Dragon + 10 Knights in 1k Games (~11 Models, Legion of Blood Requires additional Battlelines). These have the disadvantage of beeing a one trick pony (buff the cavalery and charge) and can be therefore dull to play. A Grand Host of Nagash consisting of Nagash and his big Elite Guardian Thingies is also cool, but you will loose friends. And that fast. Ironjaws can be played with a focus on Brutes, which gives you also an comprehensible ammount of big tanky models that hit quite good. Idoneth with a focus on Eel-Riders are Tanky (2+ save ignoring any rend with the Leviadon Buff on the Charge iirc) and deal a huge ammount of damage, yet can also get dull because its another sort of cavalery (althrough idoneth have a ton of toys to play around) Nurgle Rotbringers as mentioned are great Actually due to the current way of armybuilding, several factions can go for big elite monsters or something similar. (f.e. Khorne Juggernaut Cavalery-Lists) Oh, and if you really want to have a defensive army: Stormcasts. You can even lead to situations where you deal an insane ammount of MW with your saves due to Azurite Halo, Shield of Thorns and a Lord Castellan Buff. You enemy won´t charge that Blobb again
  14. Hej guys, I am about to order some big boy for my army and I have some questions: In general, I am torn between Skarbrand and a Bloodthirster (either Wrath of Khorne or Insane Rage). Did I understood it right, that Skarbrand gets his Cargange Roll for each attack? So Wrathmongers and Bloodsecrators can lead him to doing whopping 24 MW (not concidering any sixes), right? Is there any advantage in taking a Wrath of Khorne or Insane Rage BT over him? I know IR can get a huge blastwave that AOE´s with MW´s and WoK seems like a nice utility mix with his unbind and solid profile. [I currently habe 9 Bloodcrushers and 20 Bloodletters and a Skulltaker in terms of deamons + Mortals,k if this should be worth any concideration]
  15. 4. This game is about fun and having a cool Hero from old days should be no issue, especially as wanderers can have hard days anyway to keep up with newer armies. Also, the sisters already cost a terrifing 420 pts so it is alreqady a huge disadvantage to field them.
  16. With the announcement of the Open Day we have another Preview Day on July 20th incoming. Also Warcry will be playable then
  17. Well, you are right actually: Here is the last years announcement in case anyone want´s to compare: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/06/01/codexes-kings-cawdors-and-more/
  18. In my opinion the tease so far is ok. We somehow already knew that UK Game Expo is not a place for Core Game Announcements and that new Battletomes aren´t coming as GW has some terrible issues with their logistics due to some legal stuff (see-> Sylvaneth Release outstanding). No reason to be disapointed so far. The Warcry-Warparty from Ulgu is quite cool, I really like these guys and think they will see a good amount of use in conversions
  19. I think that GW won´t give us news on a new battletome as Sylvaneth are still stuck in the Pipeline. I guess we will have another Warcry Warband introduced, maybe the rumoured Shyish one with all these boney rumour engine bits. Also I would rather expect a focus on Board Games. Last year we had the Warhammer Monopoly Preview iirc
  20. I would say both have pros and cons. The FLoSH can get tarpitted more easily, the HoTT on the other side looses a ton of output after some wounds.
  21. I have 9 Bloodcrushers here that I am currently moving onto oval bases. I am still thinking about how to use them in the best possible manner. The best Idea I had thus far is to go for Bloodtithe points and an enemy unit that is small enough to be stomped by charge and one turn of combat so I could charge in my enemies hero phase again. The big issue is to hit the BT Cap required fast enough. I tought about sending Skarbrand next to them: Locust and havoc as soon as he touches anything in CC should guarantee some more BT Points.
  22. Little question: Do I see it right that under Legion of Blood we can´t take Blood Knights as Battleline? Only as Soulblight? And if yes, is Soulblight an actual alternative to Legion of Blood? I am actually really confused why Soulblight exist when the Legion of Blood seems to be the Vampire Alligience, but then there is Soulblight too. And also is Manfred in a Legion of Blood unfluffy? I mean yes, he has his own Alligience but he is still a Vampire, isn´t he? I am confused....is there some Lore background I don´t know for the split?
  23. I agree with the statement and would also add the omnipresence of "fights first" Abilities as another big issue. GW gives us with the new tomes a bit too much goodstufftm which really causes a ton of issues. The game feels a bit overloaded with effects and it feels like those also never have any drawbacks. Also players who go with the fluff and not the crunch or just play older armies have a pretty frustrating time now. Also this pretty much narrows the listbuilding possibilities. There is a lot of design ideas behind the game I really do not understand...
  24. Well, I didn´t tought so, but finaly I can contribute some real rumour stuff! I was talking to some of my local gw staff and they told me that there has to be some big release coming in June/July as there were some internal rulings which in general only apply before some really big releases like new edition releases. I do not know what this means exactly, maybe something holliday related or how many staff members are supposed to work at given times. The Staff-guys I talked to actually don´t have a clue what it is supposed to be. It could be something completly out of the blue, but also maybe "just" precaution to the Contrast Paint Release. I tought a bit about what it may be and most propably we will get another Xpac for AoS as Forbidden Power was just a Tease and a two part campaign like the vigilius one is pretty likely. Another, althrough Tinfoilhat-based, theory, is that the Soul Wars may End quite soon or at least get a new major player in it. The absence of chaos is a nice thing to give Nagash and Death some stage time, but with Warcry and the Warqueen as Harbringer we also know that Chaos will take back it´s major role soon. Maybe really soon. Well, it could also be just a 40k release.
  25. Well, back to rumours then I guess? This is actually really hard as we don´t have any~ I could imagine that GW wanted to show us a new AoS Faction on the Warhammer Fest but that management decided to stop that announcement as the current release pipeline is already stuck and they don´t know how long it may last. On the other hand it could be also possible that Sylvaneth were supposed to be the last faction before a Tome-Release-Break for the FP Expansion.
