  1. One issue I take with the tournament data is that it doesn’t go deep enough. The stats don’t distinguish between the different sub factions, and instead of showing that Petrifex Elite is doing better than it should for example, the data shows Bonereapers as a whole doing better than they should. This creates a situation where a lot of nerfs hit the other sub factions even worse than the problematic ones. another thing that I think should be said. AoS is designed around Open and Narrative play, with Matched being the extra. Because of this, in my own personal experiences, I’ve found that a lot of the things that get complained about online aren’t actually a problem until you get into matched play, and that a lot of nerfs that resulted from tournament data saying ‘X is too strong’ negatively affected Open and Narrative/Casual play. I think certain units don’t belong in Matched play and shouldn’t be allowed (Nagash, Teclis level heroes). with balance though, one issue I have is that I don’t believe allegiance abilities and sub factions are accounted for, except in some cases they seem to be. I think units need to have 2 different points costs, 1 for within its faction that takes the allegiance abilities into account, and another for Grand Alliance armies/allies where the allegiance abilities aren’t accounted for. I think sub factions should cost points like a battalion. Summoning, I don’t know what the solution is but the way gw factor that into a units cost is just wrong and makes units seem weaker by being overcosted, however I think the old way of paying points for summoning units was an even worse way to handle it. In regards to buff abilities, I think the unit providing the buff should pay the points for it rather than the units that benefit from the ability, and I don’t believe that is the case now. I would like to see less mortal wounds flying around, and an official term for ‘damage saves’ within the rules. Shooting I personally believe needs to be toned down a lot more, it feels too much like 40K these days. I play AoS for dragons and swords not guns and tanks. no mortal wounds from shooting, no rend, a lot less attacks in some cases. Shootings advantage is hitting the opponent and they don’t get to hit you back unlike in combat, shooting shouldn’t be massively powerful though to balance out that advantage. Not sure it’s a balance thing, but I’d like to see magic go back to how it was in fantasy where you have X number of dice to spend of casting spells, you could either use extra dice for a better chance at getting a spell off, or the number of dice you have determined how many spells you can try to cast, I’d like to see reference spell cards return too as they’re extremely helpful
  2. I would personally say that ‘moving’ faction terrain is too powerful, but then again Sylvaneth at one point we’re able to cover the board in ‘deadly’ Wyldwoods so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad? Depends what it actually does I guess
  3. I think that’s because Wrath Of The Everchosen isn’t considered a ‘campaign book’ like Broken Realms is, but rather a Battletome expansion, in a similar manner to how the Slaanesh battletome also doesn’t contain any Slaves To Darkness or Beasts Of Chaos content
  4. here you go, it was moved into the Seraphon subsection after the recent battletome release
  5. No. These sorts of companies only exist because of gw and their games/IP. Come up with your own thing instead of trying to piggyback off gws game
  6. I saw it reported a while ago, that under the conditions of EU membership, the UK weren’t even allowed to work out trade agreements until they’d actually left the EU. If that’s true then it certainly complicated everything for them
  7. Why not? Other armies are “gatekeeper” armies (good against one specific army, bad against everything else). Why can’t one of the aelves have that role instead of always having to be at the top (note that this response was intended more as sarcasm)
  8. I disagree with you about Fyreslayers, I think the theme of an all Slayer army can work but they just need a few extra things to break up the sameness of every model. I somewhat disagree with you about Death too. Ghouls splitting off into Flesh-Eaters I think actually did make them better. However, the whole delusions thing in their lore and the fact gw gave Horrors and Flayers the Knight keyword has cut off future model expansions. Fec can’t have mounted units now because it wouldn’t fit the lore, the Horrors already believe that they’re horse riding knights, so how would you explain having Horrors and Ghouls on a mount for example?
  9. Alright so I’ve got Myari Lightcaller and Myaris Purifiers built and painted, still need to do the bases as I ran out of Grey Seer. I ordered in Light Of Eltharion so he should be here tomorrow, and I’m going to grab a box of Stoneguard. next week I’m going to pick up Teclis and order in the endless spells. There’s still a couple of the army box sets around here, I’m tempted to pick one up as I want the spell cards. I wouldn’t mind the dice too but I have something else in mind for themed dice. However, since I have Eltharion, the value of that box is not there at all. I buy books digitally (unless I need one for a tournament) and I’ve always objected to the ‘limited edition’ battletome being included in the box as it artificially inflated the price of the box (limited battletomes are usually $165nz and $83 for the normal ones. The army box was $350nz). So it’s something I’m still thinking about but I’m not sure it’s really worth it, plus the new book might add new spells too. We currently have Vanari and Alarith mountain spells, wouldn’t be surprised if the hurakan stuff had spells too. For dice, I’ve found a store that still has a bunch of the old 8mm square Eldar dice (they did 1 set for each Aspect Warrior type), I’m looking at the Dire Avengers ones (blue and yellow)
  10. Cities Of Sigmar has potential to expand each individual sub faction (Dispossessed, Order Serpentis etc). Unfortunately I fear Cities is the end of the line for them. I’m worried that they’ll never be updated again and probably discontinued in the next edition. To me, that book was a stopgap so they could say everything got aos2 rules
  11. Lumineth mountain spirits would like a word with him I imagine 😂
  12. Why couldn’t they have just said that in the article last week and stopped all this confusion!
  13. They did it most of the last 6 months. All White Dwarfs have been a week or 2 delayed in NZ, and a lot of the Space Marines and Necrons were up to a month late here
  14. Sadly, Underworlds Warbands contain models all the time that don’t correlate to AoS units -Lumineth: Myari Lightcaller is a unique wizard, the Swordmaster (although we’re getting a unit soon). -Fyreslayers: Vulkite Berzerker with 2handed axe. -Sylvaneth: Tree Revenant with bow. -Flesh-Eaters: the bats. -Gloomspite: wolf riders, winged Squig
  15. The big one for me I think is replace all metal/resin models with new plastic kits. This is a big wish for all factions so I’m not going to repeat it with every one, but on top of that, here are a few faction specific wishes Seraphon: all Saurus (except the Carnosaur kit) get new plastic kits that look more like the Bloodbowl Saurus/Saurus hero from the Carnosaur kit. Revive the Jungle Swarms with brand new plastic models filled with all sorts of small reptiles, like various snakes and lizards. Plastic Dread Saurian sized creature, seraphon need a ‘god tier’ monster. Spawning Pool terrain. Fyreslayers: chariots pulled by mini Magmadroths. Flame Cannon warmachine. Something like the forgeworld Magma Dragon. Vulkites with the Greataxe (like the one from The Chosen Axes). Lava pool terrain/endless spell/prayer model. Flesh-Eater Courts: something like a Dire Wolf, faster and tougher than Ghouls but lesser than Horrors and Flayers. Stormcast: mounted Battleline unit. More creatures like Gryph Hounds. Dispossessed: Iron/Stone golems. Various warmachines (basically update the old ones). Chariot and mounted unit (something like the goat riders from The Hobbit). Daughters Of Khaine: a melusai hero that is a priest. Blood Sisters with dual swords or something (more attacks than the glaives but less damage/rend?). Khorne: Daemon priest hero. Khornegors. Order Serpentis: Dreadlord/Sorceress on Drakespawn (the army needs a cheaper hero other than a 300pts dragon), Drakespawn Chariot hero. riderless packs of Drakespawn + a Beastmaster type hero who buffs them. Sons Of Behemat: super Ogors (smaller than a Mancrusher Gargant but larger than the current Ogors, around Daemon Prince size). Lumineth: this one is a little tricky as we don’t know if we’ve seen everything that’s in ‘wave 2’ yet, but let’s have a Tyrion on a dragon or something. More battleline options without having to take Wardens. Giant eagles, White Loins (the actual lions from the old chariot) - basically update every High Elf kit that got discontinued that hasn’t already been ‘redone’
  16. This is wrong, resolving the damage (allocation of wounds) is still part of the ‘attack sequence’ and so the shooting attacks haven’t been ‘resolved’ until after the damage is applied, then the skinks roll to see if they can retreat or not
  17. I’ve started my Lumineth army with Myaris Purifiers from Direchasm and ordered in Light Of Eltharion. My plan is to run them in Grand Alliance Order lists until I have enough to play Lumineth solo, but due to how I’m prioritising models that might be a while 😂 next week the plan is to pick up either a Stonemage or box of Dawnriders (my income varies), and Teclis himself is the following week
  18. Start Collecting boxes were already *roughly* 500pts, but not necessarily Matched Play legal (which is irrelevant as a starter product anyway). Not all of them come out to 500pts due to costs as there seems to be a cap on total value within the sets, so those with lower army points might be a bit short, while things like Beastclaw might be a bit over. additionally I detest the price increase they applied to Start Collecting boxes a while ago. They all used to be a set $165nz but now the price varies. The reason given in the announcement was that it would allow them to put more value into the boxes, but so far all we’ve seen from the price increase is less discounts. Hell, the Greywater Fastness start collecting box is $198nz where the individual contents are $80, $70, $27and $27 for a total of $204nz! Combat Patrol boxes are more focused at being 500pts out-of-the-box playable Matched Play armies, and as such include some higher value contents. I don’t see them replacing Start Collecting boxes as they target different audiences
  19. Don’t worry everyone, I’ve done you all a favour - I bought the current Lumineth Realmlords battletome, so knowing gw they’ll put the new one up for pre-order next week 😂

  21. Ah I see, got confused between the Void Drum and Low Tide rule due to an earlier question 😂
  22. ‘+1 save’ and ‘benefits of cover’ are different for rules purposes. The eels still get their +1 save from their own rule but wouldn’t get the Void Drum
  23. This was how we thought it worked to. Found that out the hard way sadly. Tried casting it on Sigvald too only to find he has a 3+ save so the spell doesn’t even work on him 😂
  24. Question about Assault Of Stone spell, when it says roll lower than the targets armour save, if their save is 4+ does it work off 5s and 6s because 5+ or 6+ is ‘lower’ than a 4+ or would it only work on 3s because that’s lower than a 4 (since the spell says 1s and 2s always fail)?
  25. Decided I’m going to start Lumineth Realmlords. I usually prefer the Dark Aelves, both from a model and lore point of view, but these are the first High Aelves that I liked the look of. Didn’t get into them at release because I was working on other stuff at the time. played a test game yesterday to work out if I like how they work before I buy them (I’ve bought a few full 2000pts armies in the past and then found I don’t like the armies playstyle). My assessment is that there’s a bit of a learning curve and I’m not used to casting that many spells (definitely need to make some quick reference cards or something for all the spalls 😂). I think I liked them, I just need to learn what to do with everything lol this is the list I ran (it’s based on the order I’m planning to buy things-Direchasm>Eltharion>Teclis>1 of each unit). I was of course using proxies for everything so I didn’t use the endless spells as I thought that’d be a bit too confusing for my opponent (the second Eltharion represents the Direchasm units that aren’t on warscroll builder) Allegiance: Lumineth Realm Lords- Great Nation: YmetricaMortal Realm: HyshLeadersAlarith Stonemage (130)- Artefact: Mountain's Gift - Lore of the High Peaks: Assault of StoneArchmage Teclis and Celennar, Spirit of Hysh (660)- GeneralThe Light of Eltharion (220)Myaris Purifiers (Underworlds) (220)The Light of EltharionBattleline10 x Alarith Stoneguard (200)- Stone Mallets10 x Vanari Auralan Sentinels (140)- Lore of Hysh: Total Eclipse10 x Vanari Auralan Wardens (120)- Lore of Hysh: Solar FlareUnits10 x Vanari Dawnriders (260)- Lore of Hysh: Speed of HyshEndless Spells / Terrain / CPsExtra Command Point (50)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 95 played against new Slaanesh in Gift From The Heavens. I was given first turn. Dawnriders got off Speed of Hysh and moved 28” across the board and charged a unit of Hellstriders. Due to terrain in the way and trying to avoid dragging other units into combat (which I failed as I unfortunately dragged in new Seekers unit too), only 6 got to fight and only did 5 wounds 😂. The Hellstriders and Seekers then killed 4 dawnriders and I lost another 4 to battleshock (I spent their ‘crystal meth’ for +1 to hit). Teclis got mobbed by a Keeper and 5 of the new Seekers (who got to attack twice) and died turn one 😥. Turn 2 Stoneguard charged the keeper who was 4.5” up terrain, just made the 10” charge to reach him then he Locus’d them so I couldn’t pile in, so only the champion and banner both with dual hammers got to hit him, the unit then got wiped lol. Sigvald spent most of the time running away from Eltharion, until the opponent had weakened him via shooting. Sigvald then charged him along with that mirror thing with the 2 daemons on it? The mirror thing used an ability so Eltharion couldn’t attack until after the mirror had and sigvald killed him. I got tabled turn 3. A unit of new seekers charged the Wardens and I killed 3 of them, which was probably the highlight for them lol
