  1. A better preview for the Sylvaneth vs Gloomspite Gitz that was teased during Adepticon can be found here. Or you can proceed to the Warhammer Community page here. You can then proceed to squee and get giddy about it by posting a reply in this thread Contents: 12-man Squig Herd, 10-man Squig Hoppers, *Plastic* Loonboss on Giant Cave Squig 2 5-man Tree-Revenants, 3-man Kurnoth Hunters, *New* Arch-Revenant hero. And to start conversation, is this box going to be as limited as Carrion Empire?
  2. Daughters and Idoneth were post-Herald, but pre-2.0. The Slaanesh release was foretold by the great prophecy of each Chaos God getting its “year” for releases. Blessed be GW for not squatting the great Prince. As for the rest: Skaven and Beasts needed reunification (all of these factions were horde armies that were too small as individual factions to be on their own), FEC have pretty much everything they needed (according to FEC players), and probably so do Fyreslayers (Personally, I would have liked one more unit for the Leader heavy army with an awesome model range, but that’s me). And then there’s Khorne, who has had more releases than any army not named Stormcast. Honestly, I don’t have a problem with it because it builds online speculation (much like the Nightvault release does), and gives us all something else to gossip about.
  3. This whole blog is fantastic. Two questions: 1. Do you have a more recent picture of everything in one shot? I think the last one I saw was on page 3 2. Have you written custom rules for your collection?
  4. Just rewatched the video, and I know I didn’t see any Hellstriders, but, and I’m hoping I was just blind, but I don’t recall seeing any Seeker Chariots either. Yes, there were seekers, they were just there for a second or so.
  5. It’s Happening!!! YouTube Trailer Hedonites Trailer Drop ETA: Two trailers in one day seems a little excessive.
  6. Dispossessed are the old world dwarfs without all the cool siege machines. Ironweld is all the siege with none of the combat troops. Fyreslayers have good rules and good design, but are quite lacking in different types of models (and all of them are pricey to collect en masse too). KO have a good aesthetic and variety in models, but the rule set needs a complete rework since an FAQ neutered it. While it would help for army building to combine all four into a book, none of them have really interacted with one another in the fluff. Then again, GW did just release FEC after adding one model that isn't available anywhere else, spells, and terrain, so I feel like it's very possible that Fyreslayers and Ironjawz don't get that much needed help.
  7. Coming from a Dwarf player; we can relate with the pain you are going through. On the other hand, don't be a filthy rat lover ***Loudly strikes out line in his Book of Grudges***
  8. Nope. I have 50k in total models, but not over 5k in any one army. My largest is Stormcast at 4K. Theres no need to get the bouncer, I’ll see myself out := (
  9. Honestly, the worst days were those in which I was reaching the end of the day and hadn't done anything, and had to go searching for a project. The second best days were those in which I finished something. It wasn't usually at the end of the evening and I could either build/paint more, or do whatever I wanted, the world was wide and full of possibilities. The best days were those in which I had spent wanting to do something, and had been busy all night and waiting for the opportunity to go do it.
  10. Considering the uniqueness of the Assassin’s rules (hides in a unit, deals d3 damage to a hero) and that the model is already a plastic kit leans me to wager it not getting scrapped.
  11. I’m also a person who collects all of the armies, so here’s my opinion. Gitmob brings three things to the table: 1. Grots 2. Wolf Cavalry 3. Artillery The normal Grots are not as appealing compared to Moonclan. The Wolf Cavalry are nice, but wolves are completely out of place in the Mortal Realms. The Artillery was what normal Grots brought to the O&G Table. But that table is gone and every one of these models are old and made of the wrong material. AoS as a whole has a “We don’t know what to do with Artillery” issue. They don’t make it strong enough for the points they place it at for fear of a gun line, so I usually skip the section, which is a shame. Ive ruled out all three, but here is the saddest fact of all; If you bought a lot of Grots recently, you probably bought the O&G half of Skull Pass , which means that you ended up with Moonclan and Spiderfang Grots. Thus, I’m betting that unless you are a really old fan, you probably never bought a box of plain ole Grots, and GW’s research shows it.
  12. Greenskins are a yes for squatting, even if they have a Start Collecting when many other armies don’t (Daughters, Idoneth). Shadowblades gets folded into whatever becomes of Darkling Covens. It’s a Dark Rider (part of the Doomfire Warlock box) and an Assassin (1 model). Lion Rangers... depends on if High Aelves get a legion faction or not. On the one hand, the kits they have are plastic and nice. On the other, they aren’t adding anything to those kits, and there isn’t much to build the Lion Rangers into the “Souls stolen from Slaanesh” narrative. So logically, they are gone too.
  13. I had the feeling they were flushing an idea away by merging Spiderfang into Gloomspite.
  14. It dropped two names, Scuttleboss and Webspinner Shaman on Arachnarok Spider. I'm surprised we've seen no sign Scuttlings.
  15. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/01/02/gloomspite-gitz-preview-part-1-the-basics-and-allegiance-abilitiesgw-homepage-post-4/ This could mean anything from everything on the Board Segment, or the player gets a Bad Moon shooting attack at a unit of their choice that is anywhere on the battlefield. I also can't tell, but is it locked on the diagonal? Is there a center stop point? How does it move?
  16. The struggle is very much real. Out of curiousity, when are you counting a box as done? Is it when the model is Built and Painted, or just Built? I found the latter so much easier for myself to accomplish than the former. Good Luck, I'll be rooting for you.
  17. At the beginning of 2018, I made a New Year's Resolution to do something related to Wargaming each and every day. Yesterday (the 31st of December, 2018), I crossed the finish line of my marathon. This is a fraction (About 1/3) of what I have to show for it: Since I know that a few of you have made this same pledge this year that I had made a year ago, here are my personal insights about the resolution: 1. The idea came about from two summers ago, when I finished my first Warmachine models by committing to do some painting every day for a month. This go around, I was also motivated to help reduce the number of boxes and unpainted models I owned. I didn't make a promise to do all of them in a year, but I took a large chunk of them down. I proceeded to add a ton of new boxes to the pile. 2. I pledged to do something that was creative and tangible each day. With respect to the various gaming forums/sites, reading or making a post, no matter how slow I am at it, counted for the resolution. Nor did buying anything count toward the total (since it is also a habit in contradiction to another goal) 3. I restricted things to Building Models, Painting Models, or Making a non-update Youtube Video (I think 2-3 times). 4. In May I added Taking Inventory to the short list, but wrapped that up that same month. If you have never taken inventory of your models, it is my suggestion that you do at some point in the future (at a minimum, for insurance purposes). If you are thinking that it's a cakewalk and/or cheating, you probably don't have over 1000 models (which sincerely I say, good on you). 5. I added Book Reading (Soul Wars) in July/August, because I spent a day in which I didn't have any time to myself to build or paint to myself, but had spent the time on the airplane reading. 6. If you are entirely serious with keeping with the every day pledge, having a travel box or contingency plan is an absolute must. 7. Find a time to build/paint. For myself, it was the two hours between when the wife went to bed and I did, or the 30 minutes between when she and I went to work. 8. If you know you are going to be out somewhere late and not be able to paint, try to paint in the early morning, or at a different time you can find for yourself. 9. The toughest times to keep the pledge were on days in which I wanted to do something else. Working until 9 PM usually turned into playing a game until 11:45, then panicking to find something to do in the last 15 minutes. Building a hero model was a great stop-gap. 10. What counted as "work" also had some loose terminology. This could be as weak as "Painting the handles on 5-10 models pink". If I kept the number of times this was done to a minimum, or for emergencies, I never felt bad about doing it. 11. Keep a log. I kept a VLog on Youtube and while it never got much traffic, when I got to yesterday and wanted to see everything I completed, I found that an hour of scanning video descriptions was more than enough to catch everything. 12. You probably won't get to any other recreational projects. For myself, I had wanted to build a league in a baseball stats simulator called Out of the Park Baseball, but found that between the pledge and other video gaming, I never got around to starting it for long. 13. I suggest doing both building and painting, and not just one or the other. For myself, I found myself burnt out on one by the time I switched to the other, and would often get a lot more done in a month after switching than I thought I would. 14. Definitely include other hobby related projects, like getting that army you have on your shelf completed. I basecoated/three foot detailed 3,000 some points of Stormcast during a Hobby Challenge. 15. I didn't have one during the pledge, but if an emergency pops up, there should be no fear in dropping the pledge. You and your family matter so much more than a project like this. Author's note, not hobbying because I was 'sick' but wasn't hugging a toilet or laying in the fetal position constituted as failing the project. 16. Because of how rarely I got them in, I included playing a game as 'hobbying'. With that, I feel I have provided enough help to start you on your own personal hobby adventure. If you have any questions or can think of any other ideas, post them below. Happy Wargaming!
