I really like this wholle Free Cities thing and have been theory-hammering it for quite a whille, so I want to just share a list I came up with yesterday, it's Hallowhearth and the idea is to just have some fun and make opponent deal with very tanky frontline whille throwing spells all over the table (6 casts per turn are quite good) I don't know if I ever make this list as it was just pulled from me looking up where I can get empire battlemage on pegasus for my stormcasts.   4. Use cheap screening units like aetherwings and skinks Also unless you had 2 units of 5 sequitors and not 10 as in the list you posted - your list was invalid because it is lacking second battleline

Well that sucks to see DOPEelganger cloak being hanged in the closet forever and I wish we had 3+ save on our kings like vamps do, but since we don't Etherial Amulet won't help us much I'll try to throw some thoughts on what we can take now, few things that come in my mind first are The Ragged Cloak, Ignax's Scales and Gryph-feather Charm Also Essence of Vulcatrix sounds cool if we use it with GKoTG to make him super-killy for one turn at least Guardian's Coronet is pretty solid with 4+ prevents for wholle battle round

It's time to break the silence The discussion of courtiers that included some Deadwatch talk got me thinking What if instead of investing points into fighting in the hero phase which might be two combat phases after the start of engadgement we just make our sad Flayers charge turn one with a mounted ghoul king by their side and also take more good models? So we will need a mounted ghoul king, I think the one on terrorgheist to bring in Grim Garland Cogs And Royal Mordants with Varghulf bringing Flayed Pennant with a unit of 9-12 flayers Plus another ghoul king to cast dem Cogs whille GKoTG will throw his spell on flayers so thay can hope to survive retaliation With all that we get whopping 20" move and rerollable 2d6+5 charge on our flayers, and 16" move, same charge on GKoTG The garland should allow us to deal some additional bravery casualties on initial charge and the next turn it will help us to scream on our enemies louder and scarier I honestly think it's way better than deadwatch and can actually make flayers work, since it's capitalising on something that horrors don't have - speed

  8. Yep, you totally can use living city (with order abilities and artefacts ofc) to swarm up opposing player's woods

Unless you need to shoot down something like cauldron of blood (in which case you might go 4 ballista in the first place) or some other many-wounded model with hit modifiers you don't take ordinator, also without scions of the storm you may not be in range for multishot first turn so ordinator being pretty much useless for turn one and sub-optimal turn two if opponent does not give you any important units. So no to ordinator it is

Well, he is kinda meh I see him as objective sitter at best, with staunch defender, ignax's scales and mount trait to reduce multiple damage attacks he is quite tanky Giving him more attacks and Lightning Hammer to pin enemy heavy hitters as well as taking him as Knights Excelsior general with -3 rend artifact on top might be fun. Also loremaster would synergise with him very well What have you tried?

I used to think about Surecharge the same "oh just screen, duh" way BUT, actually not a terrible lot of armies can retaliate after the initial charge, their CPs might get wasted on inspiring presences, if they try to minimise their screening loses they get a good surround that will take them at least couple of turns to break free. And also the slow issue, 17 inches is not slow, and you better get your ass out of their charge range which will be hella difficult to pull off, than see that double six charge and realise that you are about to take another your unit of the table, whille your opponent gets to the objective that you have fled to, a turn earlier. That's how I see it.

  14. I'd think dracoths would be better than dracolines, but it depends on how many MWs are flying around where you play.

  16. Same It was great slapping Alariel to death with gravestone ones Also even 3 horrors with Feeding Frenzy (spell) and, obviously, ghoul king buff hit like a truck
  17. For some battleplans that could be great, I'll definetly try it at some point (before that I need 6 more horrors, but for change I can take 40 man strong ghouls unit in abbatoir)
  18. I've been also thinking about slapping betrayer's crown on a mounted GK (it's roll as many dice as in opponent's unit, 5+ is MW) and it's at the start of combat phase.

There are a few points I didn't have the time to mention It's not kunning rukk, there is no shooting at all There is no option to backline charge since there are 150 boys in guys deployment (including boarboys) (but we played 2250, so for standart 2000 it will be less, but hardly much different) The main problem was that I couldn't stop him casting fly+double move spell (and in that particular game it was on double 6s near arcane terrain, so it's 14 to unbind and triple the move, so even my allied Arkhan could not stop it) Overall, I like your list a lot, since horrors performed very good, ripping orks left and right and when the game was over by turn 3 we decided that I would kill total of 2 full units of boys and 2 full units of boars, for tiebreaker purposes.

First, there are 3 universal and 3 dracoline specific mount traits Second, if you bother yourself by reading battletome you will find them out Third, here are dracoline specific traits: 1) Bounding Leap: Model is eligible to fight whille being within 6" of the enemy AND can pile in 6" 2) Pride Leader: Add 1 to hit rolls of DRACOLINE units wholly within 9" 3) Ear-bursting Roar: At the start of combat phase roll a dice for 1 enemy unit of your choice within 3", on 4+ that unit get -1 to their hit rolls
  23. Consider looking at actual GOOD dracoline traits instead of this garbage for your arcanum
  24. @TheBluMnM The list looks good, but after a couple of games your freeguild opponent will figure out how to build an army to counter yours (via freeguild battalion) and how to deploy to give you only chaff and a good load of lead'n'steel on your initial charge from great companies battle trait. Still, this is all good units to expand with, so you are not losing anything
