  1. Given that they already do Made to Order, that wouldn't be too hard for them to pull off.
  2. I have to respectfully disagree. I'd much rather they discontinue stuff slowly over a number of months, that way I have a chance of saving up to get some of it, before its gone for good. A new Monstrous Arcanum would be great if they do later reboot the line, but for now I'm just hoping they keep some of it around a bit longer.
  3. Yeah, Magma Dragon and Mournghoul are kind of the last couple of Forgeworld AoS things which I'd kind of like. But with a limited budget I've had to prioritise getting the ones which I'd most hate to miss out on, so Dread Maw and Monstrous Squig Herd it is. I'm kind of hoping that Mournghoul will survive, since its a Nighthaunt model, but since Magma dragon doesn't fit into the armies it should fit into I feel like thats the most endangered. Its encouraging that nothing from the Legion of Azgorh is gone yet. I'm a big fan of that range, and while I'm not planning to expand my own collection of it any further, it would be a shame for there to be no way to build Chaos Dwarfs. At least if the Turmakhan horde stuff goes, Nurgle in general still exists. Some of the Forgeworld stuff is more unique though, and will be sorely missed.
  4. I picked mine up just in the nick of time it would seem. Lovely model, and will be great for D&D and Dune inspired gaming, even if it's too awkward to use for aos.
  5. Alas not. I wondered briefly whether I could make a cool Kharadron Conversion out of it, but I think its just too distinctly 40K. I think I speak for all classic Dispossessed/ Dwarf players when I say can we please just have more proper dwarves! A non gimmicky Grombrindal would be a delight.
  6. There has been a general scale creep, sometimes explained in universe as people like Stormcast and Chaos Warriors being really big and gigantic. However all of the Elves are more or less in the same size range, with only minor variations between sculpts, so pretty much all of the older models are perfectly fitting.
  7. I believe that's the point of Jokes! This one is actually canon, I've always liked the idea of the nations in Shyish, where the Undead don't prey upon the living, but instead "live" side by side with them, offering council to their descendants and protecting them in times of need. In the background I've created for my Tomb Kings army, they are actually allied with the local free cities. They learnt of a ritual to protect their land, and all the undead in it, from being controlled by Nagash. However they knew that they would be stopped the moment they tried to carry it out. Thus they secretly sent word to the local arcane college asking for their help. The Tomb Kings were mind controlled within moments of the humans entering their domain, but a freeguild army fought its way into the heart of their desert land and performed the ritual for them, all while fighting off the people they were trying to help. They were ultimately successful, and the Tomb Kings were freed from Nagash's control forevermore.
  8. The church of Khaine has evolved into a far more caring organisation, with a focus on charity events and sponsored sporting events. They are particularly good at getting people to donate blood, both for transfusions and the friendly neighbourhood vampires!
  9. The Adeptus Mechanicus are anything but the "pinnacle of human technological progress". Everything they built has been badly reverse engineered from outdated designs, and human technological progress has been largely going backwards since the Dark Age of Technology. The Mechanicus are a bunch of deranged Cargo Cultists, who don't understand the machines they build, so burn incense to keep them happy. "So much has been forgotten, never to be relearned and all that". To try to keep this vaguely on topic, it actually means that the Mortal Realms could potentially actually overtake the Imperium in terms of technological advancement. Both the Kharadron and the Ironweld are actively developing ever advancing tech, and understand the scientific and magitechnological principles on which it is based very well. If we do see cogforts, mechanical golems, and larger and more impressive Skyships then they could very easily catch up with the Imperium's more outdated devices.
  10. House ruling the death of mounts should be easy enougu. Warscrolls already make it clear which attack comes from the mount, and movement rates are fairly standard across the game. All you really need to do is specify how the wounds are split between rider and mount (eg, horse has one, rider two). Roll randomly to see who takes each wound, and swap out the models if one or other dies. For monstrous mounts they could even go wild if their rider is killed. That could be cool!
  11. Yeah, I'm sure we'll see some cool conversions of it for AoS in due course, but it would have been nice if it was for us!
  12. Its interesting that with AoS getting some really steampunk designs, and 40K straying into the same territory with things like Mechanicus, we're almost at a point where their is a kind of Aesthetic continuum between the two games, rather than a sharp Sci Fi vs fantasy divide. It makes these sorts of rumours harder to guess than they might otherwise be, but at least its handy for converters.
  13. With each new rumour engine they release, the more of a hodgepodge of different styles and designs these Idoneth Endless spells seem to be! By the time they come out, I reckon they'll had added so many gears, trees and tassels that they won't fit the theme of the army at all!
  14. You've got to wonder whether they are deliberately trying to avoid selling too many of them. Given that forgeworld use much more old fashioned manufacture techniques, its possible that their operation simply can't handle the mass demand that would come with GW actually marketing them to the ever growing audience. Its possible that they'd rather under sell, and lose money, than not be able to fill orders and earn bad will that way as well. With the rest of the company moving away from resin and towards plastic, forgeworld could soon be a bit out of date in that respect as well (and I say this as a big fan of forgeworld models!)
  15. Yeah, that was a really cool looking kit. I was sorry to see that go, and not be able to have him for my army.
  16. I wouldn't count on it. Old World is a long way off. I wouldn't think it will have a knock on effect on what they keep or replace in other lines for a while yet. No reason to discontinue a product you want to keep if the replacement is three years from completion.
  17. It is a bit of a shame. I like the kits you can get for lotr where the hero comes on foot and on a horse. Centre piece models are great and all, but I think there is a definite trend that the leader has tk be at the very least oversized compared to their troops, if not the biggest model in the range. My theory for why this has happened is that GW design studio have gradually turned into orks.
  18. The fact that Archaon defeated Nagash is irrelevant. Nagash is a Wizard, he shouldn't really be fighting battles himself, and so he has generals like Katakros who are much better warriors to take care of the warring aspect of his plans. But yeah, any big battle involving Archaon should really end with him being punched in the face by an Orc, in much the same way that every big plan of Nagash's should be foiled by the Skaven. Its just traditional!
  19. That's what I'd thought. I'm excited enough about the Lotr reveals that I wasn't seeking out aos ones though, so didn't look in to the details too much.
  20. They just previewed some lord of the rings stuff, but I got the impression that was at an Lotr tournament rather than at PAX, unless they were the same eventn
  21. The bloodbowl team is actually quite significant, since I'm pretty sure this is the first time a set of models have gotten a second Made to Order run. Nothing else has ever come back after a made to order. So it shows that it is possible, and could maybe happen with other stuff! Unfortunately it probably also means that there aren't plans for an updated Chaos Dwarf team any time soon, but you never know right?
  22. It looks like it should be ok. Lotr stuff is theoretically 25mm to warhammer's 28mm, but in practice the main difference is that the models are more realistic, with fewer cartoon y sculpts or oversized models. Scenary is scenary, so there tends to be less exaggeration. Some over the oversizdd aos models like stormcast and orcs might be too tall for the palisades, but most humans, elves etc should be fine.
