John Harrison
Hi everyone, For those that attended the Warchief GT - thank you for coming and making it a success. Please feel free to put your feedback here. We'll be having a de-brief soon, and look at tweaking what we need to for the 2017 GT. Gorgerak
Thanks for the weekend guys - had a really good time and 5 top class games. Things I thought went well - games were great; scenarios were known quantities with a special rule each that added a uniqueness to the scenarios but weren't dictating. - story behind the event was a great way of tieing everything together and buying the players into the tournament. - Organisation was smooth; people knew what they were doing and round draws came up quickly without any big mistakes. - Food was awesome!!! - everyone I spoke to said they had a great time Thoughts on changes - Instructions on how long each game was supposed to last would've helped players regulate their speed. Had a couple of occasions where we were told we had less than 30 minutes to go and were still early in turn 3. - Would have been great to have the bar open for drinks during the day. Appreciate that venue restrictions could've prevented this from being possible. - I would've been very interested to see a leaderboard of current standings throughout the tournament. - The saturday evening/night could've been more structured Was a fantastic experience and a great way to spend the weekend. Thanks guys, looking forward to next year - BIGGER and BETTER
Dan.Ford
I had a great weekend at Warchief 2 day event, Five good games Organisation was ok Enjoyed the food and snacks Prizes and trophies were top shelf. The two list system or side board is still a good thing to have in the AoS tournament scene, as it add to it. Looking forward to the next event by Warchiefs
Paul Buckler
Really great weekend, 5 top opponents and 5 great games. Venue is good, plenty of space, very relaxed atmosphere. Food was top notch, really really good. BYO is a cheaper option for booze, rather than a bar. I guess you cant do both. Prizes were excellent, congrats to all the winners. Loved the tweaks to the standard GH scenarios. That Tzeentch one really messes with things!
jonwarmington
Agree on everything people have said above, I for one will be back - great venue and food. Prefer BYO any day of the week, also liked the minor twists on the GHB missions. Thanks to Liam, @Chris Tomlin, Marcus, and James for great games - all were relaxed and fun. Kris Robertson can just snack a D***, Hate that guy! Only 2 small micro - minor points from us lot. Last mission was a little busy and with it being last game on Sunday was meaning lots of thinking involved and thats hard for me at best of times. I would also say please keep the first post updated with who was/not coming and if you had lists in or not. I know Kris was worried you guys had not got his. Next event you guys do, count us all in Thanks again
nuttyknatty
Great event chaps! Food was awesome! Battleplans well thought out - I agree a little with the last one being a bit too 'busy', but on the whole the tweaks were a great addition. I had 5 brilliant games (I've mentioned my opponents in the previous thread), all played in a great spirit! Monster Hunter was another genius addition - although it might be worth adding something to ensure that every army has one? Perhaps just having a rule that the model with the most wounds counts as a monster (purely for the Monster Hunting)? I know there were a few players who were unlucky in that they faced a few armies without any monsters in them over the course of the weekend. Very minor criticism in what was a top weekend! Sutek
I thought it was a great event, smaller events often have a more inclusive vibe and this was no different. I liked the way the scenarios worked, the spot prizes and most of all the badges for killing the monsters. Food was good and there was plenty of space to socialise. The only thing you need to avoid next time is not having it the week after another big tournament.

Please note we had our date fixed before FHGT - s*** happens when it comes to these things sometimes. It's great that the AoS scene has event calendar issues already. I'm in contact with the FHGT guys so that date deconfliction is a priority.

We are working on something to try and encourage more monsters at our event. But we don't want to dictate to people on what to have in their army. As for designating the most wound model as a monster. I'm afraid we wouldn't have the budget to cover all the badges we'd need for this. Our event is a GT, but the fluff of AoS is a massive part of our ethos as a group and our event. We will endeavour to cater for types of players. So watch out for news via twitter. Darran
Great event, the Marauders will be back. only change I would like to see is more of your own scenarios as that last one was the best one of the weekend.

Now we've got a two day under our belt, we will endeavour to write some more of our scenarios. With 12 months to plan and play test we can hopefully iron out any issues. Dave Fraser
In line with all the fun the 9th agers were having over at TWF I wanted to bring up the painting competition here. I couldn't help but notice there were some voting irregularities, I never even saw the eventual winners army laid out and frankly I was amazed that anyone beat Clis Tomyin's gorgeous Ironjaws, I certainly voted for him... For what was a relatively small event there were a lot of really nice armies on show, if you check out Chris's twitter feed he had photos of a bunch of them up for the wider public to consume. I was surprised by the feedback I got on mine, obviously the big centrepiece model helps (the eye!) but the rest of the army was actually in varying degrees of 'finished'. Clanrats were just dipped, Plague drones basecoat & wash and the Stormfiends the skin wasn't finished on 5/6 models. What it has done is got me rather jazzed to get it all polished up to a better standard for future. I actually redid the fabric on 30 clanrats that very night to make them more cohesively fit the rest of my army. I know at the other end of the scale there were a couple of armies where people had struggled to finish and there was some square bases bluetac'd on rounds still on the go. I like that as a rule people have been willing to be flexible and accept this and no way am I proposing that people should be not allowed to play for that (I faced the army with the bases not quite done and it didn't in the slightest impact my enjoyment of our game, or should I call it my being tabled!) but it is nice to see everyone getting rewarded for getting a finished product on the table. My personal favourite scoring system for it was Bobo's Tempest events which gave 1,000,000 points for having a completed army at the event so as to discourage the people rocking up with the newest filth not even at a tabletop level, not that it was the case here. Anyway great event really enjoyed meeting new people, playing a bunch of games with all new opponents for me and thoroughly enjoying the whole thing. Countmoore
Bit late to the feedback party I'm afraid. The event was top class and is definitely on the must go to events for us lot. Monster hunter was great fun though playing three armies with no monsters took me out of the running. The last scenario was very busy in my opinion and could have done without the central objective being active until the end turn Venue and general area was lovely and we had a great night out on the Friday Overall a cracking event. Agree completely, this was a fantastic event. @John Harrison, @Baz and @Rob N did a great job running the event. I had an awesome weekend and felt well looked after by the Warchiefs. As well as running a sweet event, you have a great club full of top blokes. I loved all the extra touches; monster hunter (though perhaps a mandatory monster in all lists?), tokens, battleplans etc. Was really cool. I was a little apprehensive with this being my 3rd two dayer in 4 weeks, but I'm super glad I attended even if I did have to take it easy (which was nice in its own way tbh). Will definitely be back next year. Oh, food. As someone who likes to put on good food at my events, I was very impressed with the food provided here, especially for the ticket cost. Very good indeed. Thanks to all my opponents, @Russ, @jonwarmington, @The Nameless One, @Nigehelm & Carl (not sure if he is on here?) 5 great games even if the results (especially Day 2) didn't quite go my way. Also a massive thanks to everyone who voted for my army. As Dave mentioned, the standard was really quite good for a smaller event I thought. Meant a lot to win a player judged award with my army; the trophy (also really nice btw) sit's proudly in the centre of my collection. Thanks again Well done to all the other winners. Chris Tomlin
Morning, Bit of coverage of my games at this event in the latest TBS ep; It's a ridiculously long episode, however the Warchiefs GT stuff is at the beginning!
