Lord Panther
So ive been busy getting married and going on honeymoon but I’m back at it now and making some progress on my gore-gruntas. Got the base coats on the fur and a wash down.
TristanGray
After a long while planning I got my Engine Of Souls(casket of souls/Mortis Engine) together and on my painting desk. Got first layers and washes on the ghost bits. Know what my Hour a Night™️ for the foreseeable future will be spent on!
Trokair
@ CJPT, Lovely lovely Juggernauts. @ Lord Panther, Congratulations. Update on the brutes, not very far along as yet. I have to say I am beginning to feel like I should have done a different army/colour scheme. The Ardboys have not been fund to paint at time, and I mainly paint to relax and not as a chore. I am nearly finished with them but the colour scheme does not look quite as I had intended, especially from a distance. I will finish what I started, but the rest of the army may remain in the undercoat stage for a long time.
Tzaangor Management
Great work @TristanGray, great looking conversion and can't wait to see it fully-painted. Stick with it @Trokair, I had a go at the Skirmish Iron Jawz box and found the Ard Boys a surprising pain, but loved the Brutes, so you might change your mind yet! My Malign Portents pre-order has now arrived (one month late), but I'm not bitter (much), as it had my yellow paint, earmarked for Pallador beaks, in and so I've finished my not Harbinger from last month. Started work on the Aquilor and have the Herald to build and paint. If I can get all of that finished, then I think I'll be back on track.

Definitely worth completing and basing the squad to see how you feel about the finished product (they might look much better!), but if you're not feeling it after that consider a full swap to some other colour scheme for the rest of the army rather than leaving them hanging over you. Nothing more demotivating than a backlog of models you don't really want to paint, and replacing one squad of brutes (you could even sell these to cover the cost) then painting a fresh scheme you like will be way more satisfying than persisting with a scheme you don't! Tzaangor Management
Hoping to see a flurry of models arriving in the next few days! I finished my Lord Aquilor, who is, I suppose not all that big, but is the biggest model in my army, so will have to do. Harbinger is about halfway done, so, with any luck, I should have everything finished for this next deadline.
Tzaangor Management
Apologies for the double post, but an unexpected day off today means I finished my Lord Ordinator. I seem to have switched my lamp away from daylight mode on the pictures, so a bit yellower than it might otherwise look, but it does show a bit more of the definition on the armour, if it knocks a little more out of the gold. Army shot: Have entered a local tournament in late April, so they will get an outing then and I will certainly look to take them up to 2,000 points in the future. Possibly a break from white armoured dudes for a bit though... Good luck finishing all!
Lord Panther
Finally got some photos taken. Here's the completed Gore-Gruntas: And the whole muster so far. Have got a Mega-Boss, Warchanter and another 10 'ardboyz to paint up. Then I might grab another box of Brutes. Still want to paint up a Maw Krusha at some point too. Melcavuk
Looking good guys, great to see the community spirit and hobby convictions that are pushing you all forwards. Sorry I had to drop out so early but I've been keeping an eye on the thread and everyones work is really impressive. Congratulations to anyone who took an award from their local shops in the painting competitions for malign portents. Looking forward to seeing the finished projects and what you all come up with in the future.
CJPT
After a bit of a sprint I'm... done! Here's my kitbashed Slaughterpriest (completing the Bloodbound SC! box) and Chaos Lord on Manticore (a monster for the final month of the muster.) ...and here's the entire force! Tzaangor Management
Thepigs look great @Lord Panther, as does the army as a whole. I particularly like like the bright green skin tone that you can see from a mile away! Amazing work @CJPT, not sure I said that before, but should have done! The muted oranges, reds, grays and browns, with the odd splash of bright colour works really well, might be stealing the idea for my next project

Trokair
@ Tzaangor Management, Looking good, The Lord Aquila might not be a very big centrepiece but he does stand out nicely. I think the dark blue skin of the mount (and on the Palladors) draws the eye compared to the rest of the army which has only a little of the blue. @ Lord Panther, Waaagh! Really like the look of your Ironjaws, good luck with the remaining few units. @CJPT, I can’t decide if the Manticore is smaller or bigger than I expected it to be compared to the Juggernauts and infantry. I guess the wingspan adds volume as the body seems rather small. Maybe I am just to used to seeing giant mounts in AoS. Also Congrats on the Gold Certificate. Well I finished some of the units. On the Grunters and Warchanter I feel like my scheme worked out quite well but on the Ardboys, as I mentioned before, just doesn’t sit right, I think it is too much armour and to little of anything else. I have never used the Snow effect before so I am not sure how well that worked, whether I should add more or call that enough. Three Gruntas Front and Side Warchanter Front and Back Snapshot of the entire force to date. I will finish these but it may not be soon as I expect to be very busy for a while and I think I want to paint something very different next. Though not necessarily much, just some Thallax or maybe that Clawed Fiend I was thinking of using as a Gorgers (not a fan of the original model) for my Ogors. Kirjava13
Clearly never finished this as I ended up having to go to a mental hospital but well done for all the brilliant Stormcast, Orruks and Chaos stuff added since I last checked. For my part I managed to get the Doomwheel and ratty Harbinger part-painted, and a unit of five Skryre Acolytes fully converted, so... that's something I guess. Here here, if you have more miniatures painted than you started with @Kirjava13 then that's definitely got to be a success. You've also made me want to do a Skaven army (not sure if that counts as a success or not...) and that hasn't left yet, almost pulled the trigger on the Pestilens SC Box the other day... Trokair
@Kirjava13, Hope you are feeling better. You made some progress and your Ratty Harbinger was a very nice conversion concept, kudos for that.
Kirjava13
@Melcavuk @Tzaangor Management @Trokair thank you all very much chaps. Ratty Harbinger at least has all his base coats on now. I still intend to finish the challenge even if I am late- I was lucky enough to be able to bring a lot of paints and models in with me, and I have great friends who have brought me stuff while I've been inside, so I have made a bit of progress when I have found the calm to focus on Warhammz. Will post pics at some point.
Elmir
Slightly late with adding my big model for the expansion... But here it is!
Tzaangor Management
Wow @Elmir, just unbelievably good. I don't think I've seen a nicer grey that draws the eye like this, it even feels like a weird sentence to write! @Trokair, I was thinking about your Ardboys and wondered if changing the colour of one of the armor plates might make a difference, like a black shoulder plate or something? I suspect they look really striking on the table as is, but the question I'm trying to answer is what colour would the banner be if they had one, which I think is the angle that you're coming from maybe?
Trokair
Well originally my plan for the banner was just to paint it light brown colours to show that the Orruck just used whatever material they had to hand. However I am now likely to pick something brighter, maybe any cloth of fabric colour I use for any other army I do to show that they plundered the material to make their banner. As I was painting the Ardboys I did consider making the blades of their weapons a grey metal to contrast the red metal I have used for everything else. I might still go back and do this for all the weapons.
Lord Panther
Still plugging away. Got my Warchanter done and have made good progress on my second 'Ardboyz unit.
