Mengel Miniatures
Hi all, I finally started painting my set the other day. I decided to start with the denizens since I have painted heroes I can use. I love a lot of the minis, but the Tzaangors just called out to me as the first to be painted. I am putting together a step by step tutorial as I paint these guys for Mengel Miniatures. Hopefully it will be up next week. This guys is still very WIP, but I think his skin is done. I am just aiming for tabletop quality with all of the minor guys, I'll spend more time on the heroes and the Ogroid and Gaunt Summoner. I want to get these done quick but still look good. At the moment I am fighting the urge to do one final highlight on his skin.
Soulsmith
Looks awesome, great start! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
RuneBrush
The skin looks ace, colour & tone seem just right for denizens of Tzeentch. An extra highlight could make them pop a little more than the heroes which would be a shame
Mengel Miniatures
Almost done. Will have a detailed step by step tutorial up on my site on Monday.

cb_rex
Very cool, the black and gold gives them a wicked evil look, awesome! One thing I'd critique is where the loin cloth touches the leg it could do with some shading or black lining on the leg. Great job overall though! endtransmission
Absolutely gorgeous... if that is what you consider tabletop standard... geeze The purples on the head tentacles are really nicely done

Carnelian
Great tutorial and outcome. That is an awful lot of steps for tabletop standard! Keep it up
Mengel Miniatures
@Carnelian Thanks! I'm really bad at simplifying things more. I need at least 3 steps per color. I think this is about par with what they do in the paint splatter articles. These Tzaangor wouldn't take so long if they didn't have so much fiddly detail on them. Carnelian
That's a good point the paint splatter is similar in number of points and I think of that as reasonably simple! Although probably more than tabletop standard for me!
Dr_Keenbean
I like it. Once I finally get moved and unpacked and can start painting again I'll probably reference this quite a bit!
Blueisola
excellent; turned out really fantastic! love these models to no end and am just starting to get paint on the first three from the set. after having been working on the new Orruks these seem so small and intricate!
