Nagash, the Supreme Lord of Spellz

If your opponent can use your endless spell model that means you can’t cast that spell later (as you don’t have the model for it). As far as I’m concerned that means my opponent will have to have his own model to cast an Endless Spell they’ve learned off me.

    Buying Command Points

For me what I’ve always enjoyed about AoS matched play games is the scenarios that present a “problem to solve” tactically. Anything that enables one side to ignore that problem and just table their opponent quickly takes away the engagement that the game presents. I also think there’s value in thinking narratively. How much damage should 1 Grot be able to do? 1 - fair enough. 2- in extreme circumstances maybe. 4, how? 8+ wtf??? Any ability (be it command ability stacking of anything else) which doesn’t fit the narrative/lore of the unit needs to be looked at.

    Mourngul nerfed again

I like the mortal wound output tbh. He’s got enough attacks that it’s a good chance he’ll get 1 or 2. That should guarantee a killed model and that d3 heal. Plus he’ll be able to come up from the underworld and can be in range of a hero to reroll charges making him a bit more reliable. Save change sucks a bit though!

Spirit Torment can heal it. Guardian of Souls sadly can’t though.

Yes, so a potential tactic would be to use a cheap hero as General who stays off the board until you want to use Endless Legions. Maybe a Cairn Wraith - only 60 points. He then appears on the table near a gravesite (which needs to be within 15” of that table edge) and brings back a slain unit (or more than one if you have the CP) Doing this means that you can keep the General safe from being sniped off to prevent slain models coming back. Give your artefacts to different heroes so all you’d lose is the command trait. Pondering if that’s worth it.

So now that Endless Legions takes place at the end of the movement phase, we can ambush the general next to a grave site for an easy summons. Is that a good tactic or does hot having the general on the table hamper the army?

Allegiance Abilities (from WHLive) -1 bravery to units within 6” of a Nighthaunt unit 6+ ignore wounds for a unit wholly within 12” of a hero Half of your units can be in the underworld. Auto arrive, but must arrive by turn 4 10”+ unmodified charge - immediately attack (and can then attack again later) New Command Ability for General. Remove a unit and set it up within 12” of general / more than 9” from enemy.

If you have spare Hex Wraith weapons I think you could convert one bell and 2 stalkers into reapers (ie using the hex wraith scythes). Plus use some spare skulls from the Skeleton kit or skulls kit to turn the stalker heads into reaper heads. That gives you 12 Stalkers, 1 with drum 10 Reapers, 1 with Bell.

So my thought is to get two sets of the starter units and the easy build Stalkers. Gives you 8 Reapers (you need 10) and 14 Stalkers (units of 4). If you can convert 2 Stalkers into Reapers then you’ve got 10 Reapers and a unit of 12 stalkers.

  14. I played LoN last night. I think I would have got a chance to summon (we had to call it due to time) but only because my general was a small character I was able to bubble wrap. However, I nearly had that plan foiled due to where my grave sites were. Managing this all is going to be quite tricky. Had I summoned it would have made a significant difference in that game. If I’d had a VLoZD as my general I think it would have been even harder trying to keep him in range of a gravesite and still contributing to the game. Giving up a turn with a 440 point model to resummon a even a unit of Grave Guard is a tough choice.
  15. So is there a limit on Seraphon summoning at all? Number of Slaan in an army, points you can spend a turn etc?Because I think I’ve worked out something hideous. 6 Slann and 60 skinks (bubble wrap) leaves you points for an extra command point or some Endless spells. And it’ll be hell to deal with. 55 summoning points per turn. Teleport 1 Slann across the board then summon with him. Rinse and repeat 5 times. I would hate to see that be viable. It’s horrific! Please someone say that’s not possible?
