  1. Slaanesh was probably the winner this year for me, Dexcessa being the standout. My favourite model I completed this year for AoS was this converted Nurgle Sorcerer. Not a massive or impressive miniature, but I liked how it turned out!
  2. I imagine the shaman and killa-boss will remain in the starter boxes for now, unless we get a new edition of the hachette mortal realms with them split out. Same happened with the 40k Space Marine and Necron HQs.
  3. I bought Dominion from Wayland games at half price, the core book and basically 2 1000pt armies for 65 pounds was a massive deal and brought me into this edition. Even if I don't expand the Stormcast or Orruks to full armies, the variety of the miniatures will mean that they will find uses in loads of other games. I'd recommend it to newer players if you can get it for a good deal; enough units for decent sized battles and the full size rulebook with art and lore. Good variety in the miniatures for new painters too.
  4. The conquest dwarves were a better take on the concept I think, more variety between units and characters, with normal dwarves and fire covered berserkers. The GW fyreslayers badly need some variety, a cavalry/chariot unit and a warmachine would be what I would like. Along with a heavy armoured foot unit to break up the masses of skin, and have an easier to paint battleline unit.
  5. Surprised that there's no Destruction box, but box contents look good
  6. Works out close to 600 points too, roughly a 35% saving on webstore prices, identical to the percentage savings in the Rotbringer Start Collecting, and less value than the Daemon Start Collecting at 42 %. Daemon Start Collecting = 520 points Mortal Start Collecting = 485 points New Vanguard Box = 585 points
  7. Seen on the Maggotkin Discord, looks like the new Nurgle bundle is called a Vanguard box priced at 100 euro
  8. Definitely depends on the price, the Nurgle mortal start collecting is 80 euro, Combat Patrols are 110 euro, if that bundle is 110 euro just for the extra unit of Plaguebearers, it's not as good value as what we already have. Hope both Start Collecting sets remain, both Nurgle boxes are excellent and allow building either Mortal or Daemon themed armies without having to purchase units you don't really want.
  9. James Hewitt described the salary and conditions on twitter, I was shocked at how low the wages were.
  10. Got one for 75 euros, as I was considering buying the core book and a unit of Vindicators for conversion purposes, which would have ended up the same price, this was a great deal for me
  11. Thanks, got it for 75 euro, crazy good deal, I was going to get the core book on it's own, but for an extra 35 euro to get the whole box was a steal. Looking forward to converting up some Nurgle units from the box!
  12. Although, if you live in Europe, you can purchase from stores in Northern Ireland at the Sterling price (On Tabletop) and pay no import fees/custom charges as they are still in the single market
  13. So the Praetors and Vindicators are the same as in the Dominion box? Boltboyz and Bastian look good though!
  14. 100%, I put together a Unmade warband for Warcry recently that was an exercise in frustration, so many pieces breaking on the sprue or already broken in the box. Great looking miniatures in the end, but I'm not sure how long they'd survive used as playing pieces. As for details on the miniatures, necron warriors or nighthaunts are a breeze to paint and look great, whereas something like Nurgle mortals need a lot more attention before I would be happy with them. I don't really have much time for painting, so if choosing an army to get into, amount of models needed and the level of details on the miniatures definitely plays a part. I agree! I preferred the simpler look of the ironjawz brutes, a nice blend on the back muscles would look great. You can add so many effects to plainer surfaces; chipping, texturing, weathering, scarring on skin, glazing in different colours to add interest that would otherwise be under pouches, bandoliers, bottles, etc.
  15. For me personally, the price of books is far too high; €37.50 for one Battletome/codex is nuts. I was looking forward to the new Kill Team, but baulked at shelling out €75 on rules (not including the new measuring pieces). I instead bought Stargrave and Frostgrave rulebooks; including 20 plastic soldiers and 7 metal characters for less than just the Kill Team rules. I'd rather they went back to paperback for rules if it meant the battletomes were cheaper. Or at least allow people to purchase a digital only Battletome for less than hardback. When I got back into the hobby a couple of years ago after leaving it in 2005, it was the prices of the books rather than models that shocked me. A book went from an impulse buy to a planned purchase. I liked the premise of AoS being rules light with free Warscrolls and basic rules when it first launched, there wasn't many companies doing it at the time, but unfortunately they seem to be walking back from that model.
  16. One nice thing about having the pdf, is that they can be printed off for games without having to pick up a phone. I think it's a retrograde step on GWs part, with the likes of Conquest, Kings of War and Infinity providing starter if not complete rules along with complete army builders. It makes it easier to dip a toe in, and more likely to buy into the associated miniature lines. I can't figure out a good reason for making a game harder to try out for new people, other than funnelling people into the app. What I would like to see is the core rules available in both the GW and community websites without needing the app. I would then create a new PDF for each faction containing all the faction Warscrolls maybe with a sample of Battletome rules, to get a good feel for how a faction plays. Call it Foundation: Stormcast Eternals or whatever. Artifacts, traits, sub-faction rules, etc could still remain paid content. Hopefully it'll be reversed, I think it's a misstep given that there is more competition for mass battle fantasy games now than even 5 years ago.
  17. I wonder if the heroes will be available separately? The Indomitus heroes/units not in the starter boxes ended up direct only at a crazy price. I wouldn't mind some alternate sculpts if they came individually.
  18. @Gaz Taylor Thanks Gaz, I've submitted my feedback. What units are left to release for Stormcast and the Orruks? Just the boltboyz for the Orruks?
  19. That's a shame, one thing I liked about AoS was the free core rules and warscrolls, does the new app have free rules/warscrolls or is it paid subscription only?
  20. I would agree with this, the idoneth would have appealed more to me in a darker colour scheme, dark blues and greens, more north Atlantic than Caribbean if that makes sense. The background is definitely one of the darkest of all the factions.
  21. The Pusgoyle Blightlords box is like that, unit size of two and two per box, but one can be a hero.
  22. Converted Nurgle sorcerer completed! Used a sponge to build up the texture and highlights on the robes, which worked out well I think and was very fast. Happy with how he turned out, particularly the face.
  23. Reign in Blood uses a large easy to read font, I'd highly recommend it
  24. Same as that, I only got Indomitus in March. I'd check local/smaller stores if you miss out on the pre-order, GW may sell out quickly and the smaller shops may be left hanging on to stock.
