  1. I remember the good old days when the Stoker could stoke anyone, including Skarbrand! Perhaps they could get the universal effect back with a tradeoff....roll a D6, and on a 1 the unit gets angry and strikes back at the Bloodstoker and does a MW, but on a 2+ they are whipped to a frenzy. Seems fair to me.
  2. With the Skaven Lightning Cannon, the roll just determines the power of the attack and is not a hit, wound, or save roll. If he had the battalion called Arkhspark Voltyk, 1 Cannon in the battalion can be chosen and subtract 1 from the power roll....so if he rolled a 2, that becomes a 1, and all 12 dice roll equal to or greater than 1, and thus 12 mortal wounds! Not something any but Rockgut Troggoths can withstand. But rats die to vomit very easily, besides straight-up squishing with big hands.
  3. Bloodgullet with a FLoSH, and Slaughermaster general, with Ironguts battleline! Here's an idea and good reason for me to make a Hunter. All arounder style....
  4. I'm thinking Ironguts get more relatively valuable this edition with their 2" reach. Mournfangs, not sure, pretty much run those in 2's anyways (for minimum Eurlbad). Actually, will Eurlbad even exist in 3.0? Still unsure of the battalions for tomes, rumors say they might be gone for Matched Play.
  5. Nooo! Keep them. They’ll still wreck face. Just in units of 3.
  6. I would also love to run a massive pack of Razorgors! It could be worth using Goregruntas for conversions, and then the riders could just be on foot for a Kragnos Grand Destruction Alliance army battleline unit. Those Tuskgor Chariots are sounding good for sure.
  7. Looking forward to hitting on 2+ sometimes with my Gatebreakers There's some thing also where shooty units can shoot a charging unit. That could be a bit nasty for everybody. Seems like that should sell some Kruleboyz with their wicked crossbows and ballistas. Oh wait, WE can shoot stuff too!
  8. By that wording I would expect that invocations and prayers will be separate things; hoping that's the case at least AND that they don't go up in points.
  9. Would it be better to model Kragnos as a steed for a Mancrusher playing polo and use it as a Kraken-Eater?
  10. WoW, that's Skaven level of hijinks!
  11. ******, I just bought the Judgements and made 2 Priests out of my 2 Spawn. Of course they can still be Spawn, just with an axe and armor. Still think the Priests will have value, even at 100 points, with 1 prayer. Tossing out an armor buff and generic CA, desummoning an enemy prayer... 10 Bloodwarriors might still work okay as a tank with the Gorefists though. But I guess MSU still works for that.
  12. I would say if one is taking a hunter then one should also have at least 4 frost Sabre’s going hunting with him.
  13. Yeah I got the spiders again for funzies rather than competition. And being spiders I can make a really weird display using magnets, since they can climb on anything πŸ•· sometimes players make mistakes when facing something they have never seen before. Good spoiler effect
  14. Happy to be back on the Skull Train! I picked up 33 Blood Warriors, the Skull Altar, and Judgements, plus some bits to make a couple more Daemon Princes once I find bodies. I also have 1 ready Daemon Prince, 2 Bloodsecrators, 2 Slaughterpriests, Skar Bloodwrath and a Bloodstoker, plus 10 Skullreapers on the workbench. All in addition to Brass Despoilers Bullgors if they fit anywhere, and allied Mindstealer Sphiranxes. I think even if tome battalions go by the wayside in v3.0, I should still have a solid core army.
  15. I agree, it's a conspiracy. I read that as a clear sign that all Beasts of Chaos models can be used with any battletome with batteline conditions applicable with the proper general model. Beasts are nothing if not versatile!
  16. Man, I really really want to chop those eyebrows off and do proper horns. Maybe Magnus' nipple horns would be better ?! I just bought a Spiderfang army. Wondering how Kragnos will fit with that if at all? Perhaps they'll drop his points in the new GHB a month after BR comes out, as they must already know he's so vastly overcosted in points.
  17. Back on the horse, or spider so to speak! Got an Arachnarok Shaman, foot Shaman, 30 spider-riders, Arachnarok Warparty and a Skitterstrand version, plus endless spells and a finecast Scuttleboss. Even after whatever adjustments come with the 3.0 and GHB2021 I think I'll be in good shape. Not sure if the battalions will still be usable in Matched Play though, that's a rumor I am hoping is incorrect (those White Dwarf rules look to be pretty sneaky and fun). But with a Fungoid Shaman or two, and deepstriking giant spiders, this can be my tricksy army, painted in metallic Lisa Frank colors. One of my friends expects a points increase in many units due to a rumored decrease in table size; he said that happened in 40k. I don't think Spiderfang will get that though, except maybe a little on the big ones, as the riders are a bit overcosted currently. But with monsters doing more stuff they might get a hike.
  18. If the rumor that battletome battalions are going away is true my Bullgors of Khorne will be really mad. But unable to get extra attacks with Blades of Khorne to take it out on enemies.
  19. I am hoping the Tome Battalions don't get the axe. Cuz my Bullgors won't be able to run in Blades of Khorne then!!! Also, Eurlbad; that's a rockin' battalion. Frankly I almost want to sell all my Battletomes now since they might be getting updated very soon if that battalion rumor is true. Except Sons of Behemat. They don't care about battalions.
  20. Hopefully the Sons will get an update letting us summon Mancrushers from the board edge.
  21. Me thinks I'm gonna buy back into Spiderfang. I ran them for a while, but sold all my Gloomspite when I moved again. They were fun and almost nobody runs them. Not that they'll win too much but I can ally and add a few legs to Kragnos to make a Arackragnosarok
  22. Ooh wow, that's a very important and interesting rule! I'll look into that so I can quote it properly when it comes up.
  23. Hopefully that sticks in a new tome. Even glass cannons are hard and have mass.
  24. I got 3 games in this past weekend with my Breaker Tribe. Ended up using the portcullis and +2 attacks trait. The portcullis didn't work much, but the +2 attacks was excellent. Beat out a big Nurgle Daemon Tallyband, and my general (with the lucky reroll hit Triumph) one-shotted his GUO. It was Places of Arcane Power which is an awesome mission for the 3 MegaG armies I used the Krakeneater to kick an objective back to his Gnarlmaw trees so they wouldn't generate Contagion Points....which he needed to summon in more Heralds to score the objectives. Sniped out his Pusgoyle Lord early on. Big win there. Game 2 was Battle for the Pass vs Seraphon, with little heroes, 2x40 Saurus Warriors, some skinky units and 3 Salamanders. It was a nailbiter but I didn't realize how nasty those Salamanders were and they got rid of my 1 Gatebreaker way too early. Then in turn 4 they managed to get over to the other side and finish me off. Those Saurus guys with all the buffs hit on 2s, with extra attacks, and sometimes did MW on 6s. YIKES! Nasty little lizards. Good game. Game 3 was Better Part of Valour, the WORST mission for SoBs. That was Idoneth with 3 Eidolons and allied unit of like 40 Eternal Guard from Cities? Had a 2+ save turn 1?! Annoying. And I still had to target them with the rocks as they were the closest unit; Idoneth thing I guess. I foolishly decided to kick up the center objective, thinking then my Mancrushers can help kill all these puny things with clustered Megas. But then his Eidolons just hopped up after I cleaned up the Eternal Guard and wailed on my Mancrushers. They hung on til turn 4 I think. Had I held them back and split up my Megas to go after his 3 Battlelines separately I think I coulda had it. Oh well, another good tight game. Missions make a difference!
