  1. Is that the new vanguard box? I'm thinking of jumping back into the magmahold with list I saw on Goonhammer. - Army Faction: Fyreslayers - Subfaction: Greyfyrd LEADERS Auric Runemaster (130) - General - Command Traits: Master Priest - Artefacts of Power: Volatile Brazier - Prayers: Heal - Aspects of the Champion: Tunnel Master BATTLELINE Vulkite Berzerkers with Fyresteel Handaxes (160) Auric Hearthguard (120) Auric Hearthguard (120) OTHER Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) Grimwrath Berzerker (110) ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Molten Infernoth (40) TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000 Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App Is it stupid? Seems like it. Is it fun? I think so...reminds me of when I used to have Bonesplitterz w a bunch of Big Stabbas. And it would be neat to kitbash bunch of unique Grimwraths from cheapo Vulkites.
  2. Yeah, Screaming Bell should have the battleshock immunity effect back. Why the plague furnace but not the bell?!? I want a reason to get the cool old metal one.
  3. Do we think there will be inevitable points changes with this GHB? Guess that has been the norm. I will keep my claws crossed that Gutter Runners and Deceivers and Deathmasters go down, so I can use ALL of my Eshin models together in an upcoming tournament. Not that it would win, but it would be really fun and cool to see how many MW I can do over the games and how many heroes I can assassinate.
  4. That's to launch the ArchWarlock into combat from afar after juicing him up with Flaming Weapon and MMWP, and he can go More More Stormcage and a warpspark in the combat phase, for ultimate awesomeness! Saw the combo on Goonhammer and thought it would be super fun to try. Oh and that should be Devious Adversary instead of Deranged Inventor.
  5. My null deploy goal is close at hand-claw! Just need 20 more clanrats and 3 more ratling guns, 1 Warpfire Thrower. Can it erase all 72 squigs from a Gitz army turn 1?!? Probably not, but I'm sure as heck gonna try it out. - Army Faction: Skaven LEADERS Arch-Warlock (150)* - General - Command Traits: Deranged Inventor - Artefacts of Power: Tuskhelm - Spells: Flaming Weapon - Aspects of the Champion: Leadership of the Alpha Warlock Engineer (100)* - Spells: More-more-more Warp Power! - Aspects of the Champion: Tunnel Master BATTLELINE Clanrats (200)* - Clawleader - Rusty Blade - 4 x Clanrat Bell-ringer - 4 x Clanrat Standard Bearer Stormfiends (640)* - Grinderfists - Ratling Cannons and Clubbing Blows - Doomflayer Gauntlets and Warpstone-laced Armour - Shock Gauntlets and Warpstone-laced Armour - 2 x Windlaunchers and Clubbing Blows Clanrats (200)* - Clawleader - Rusty Blade - 4 x Clanrat Bell-ringer - 4 x Clanrat Standard Bearer OTHER Ratling Gun (60) Ratling Gun (60) Ratling Gun (60) Warpfire Thrower (70) Warpfire Thrower (70) Ratling Gun (60) Ratling Gun (60) Ratling Gun (60) Warp-Grinder (60)* Warp-Grinder (60)* ENDLESS SPELLS & INVOCATIONS 1 x Lauchon the Soulseeker (50) 1 x Vermintide (40) CORE BATTALIONS *Battle Regiment TOTAL POINTS: 2000/2000 Created with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: The App
  6. Chaos Death-shears really cut the enemy down to size :D
  7. Here are my Azgorh Chosen for my Slaves to Darkness army. Got a bunch of the old Bloodbowl Chorfs.
  8. Oops! Forgot to post the report here... Azgorh fought the new Soulblight this past week in an experimental exhibition match, in Ours for the Taking. Wanted to see how a Legends army might stack up to a modern army. My list wasn't super hard hitting: Tauruk (general, Battlelust, Armor of Bazherak the Cruel) 2 Daemonsmiths (one w Tunnelmaster) 2x10 Ironsworn and 1x20 Fireglaives 1x6 BullCentaurs Deathshrieker and a Dreadquake and 2 Skull-crackers The vamps were Legion of Blood w VLoZD (who had the ethereal save), Necromancer and Vamp Lord on foot, 5 Blood Knights and 5 Black Knights, 60 skeletons I think, 20 Grave Guard, 10 wolves and Radukar the Beast. I scored early using Tunnel Master for Cunning Maneuver and ran the shooters up behind the Smith, and brought a skullcracker up to aid them. I put my Tauruk too far up ahead of my Bullcentaurs and he got dragoned. My right skullcracker tried to get to Radukar but the wolves redeployed to intercept it so that lasted a couple rounds. Radukar went for the Ironsworn and that was a bit of a tarpit for a while. The bullcentaurs went for the BloodKnights and was another tarpit of melee until the VLoZD got in there. The artillery didn't do much as skeletons just stand up. I miss my magma cannons! Skullcrackers auto-doing MW to themselves after more-power is actually even worse than the Skaven who at least have to roll some 1s on stuff, but they do the job they're supposed to do pretty well. Ended it on bottom of turn 3 15-8 as I only had my artillery and a Daemonsmith w 1 wound left, and unable to do any battle tactics. I think with 2 magma cannons instead of the other artilleries, not losing the Tauruk so soon, and running perhaps some K'Daii Fireborn to deal with chaff, that might have helped.
  9. Yes indeed, I like the theme of null-deployment. Need more Clanrats and Warpgrinders for the ultimate version. I'm still waiting for my 3rd Verminlord from Canada (the old metal kind). Then I can run Skreech, Warbringer, and Deceiver together....with other stuff of course.
  10. I was just making my 5 Deathmaster list. Gonna record how many 6s to hit I roll for all of them and my Gutter Runners. Between Tunnelmaster, Gnawbomb, Farskitter Cloak, they'll get around
  11. I think Deathmasters should be able to show up off of terrain like the Gutter Runners OR hide in any unit of 5 or more models. That would make them the ultimate ninjas like they're supposed to be.
  12. I didn't mean points on warscrolls....but if they go more towards army building in the way of 30k/40k, then it would certainly be more customizable. But the model designs of many AoS units don't really lend themselves to enough options to make that worthwhile I suppose.
  13. I'm breaking out the old Legion to fight my friend's Soulblight vamps this week! Using strictly the Legends Compendium, so it'll be interesting to see how it fares against a modern army full of their own army abilities and traits, etc. Azgorh has some solid warscrolls, and the current 'seasonal' rules might help a bit. Gonna be an uphill battle I expect but a good experiment. Also it will tell me if the little Duardin are worth working on for when the new Cities tome comes out. Comparing Fireglaives to Irondrakes....the latter are so expensive (and will probably remain so) that I usually found they weren't actually worth taking. Ironsworn are equal to Ironbreakers except also have rend-1 standard but lack the Runepriest of course. I'll report after, hopefully this will happen Tuesday.
  14. That would be pretty awesome! Sigmar builds heroes, that's for sure; so it would make some good fluffy sense as well.
  15. Just for organizational effect, I think many of the unit warscrolls need consolidation. The Paladins for example would be good to combine into one warscroll with just Paladin weapons, all doing 1 MW on hits of 6 in addition to any damage, 3+/3+/-2/2 dmg, w Star Soul Maces sprinkled in as they are. Dracoths a similar consolidation but with the Tempestor shooty weapons instead of the choppy ones. And all those elite types should get an extra attack each if outnumbered. That would be many less pages right there. The Chamber keywords are also not utilized enough and don't get enough bonuses. Battleline if ....(*)...is the general, not a subfaction. Maybe that's part of the problem? Too many limits on builds because of the subfaction requirements for it rather than the general leading a type of unit. Too many subfactions that don't interact with the Chambers perhaps. Like too many soup ingredients that won't dissolve and flavor the broth.
  16. That's why I went with Hammers of Sigmar just so at least we can get a 6+ ward near objectives. (and I like Dracoths so they're battleline too). But for sure if Death is getting a ward all over the place, the elite of Azyr certainly should too. Or blinding reflective armor to reduce hits or something. Stormcast seems like it's a really old book but didn't it come out last year? Can't remember, I'm only getting into them this year; for sure seems to lack the juicy synergies that some newer armies have.
  17. I'm wondering if loads of Fellwater Troggoths might actually be a good army core, like 3x6 of them. -1 to hit in melee, and with the Dankboss special AOA on them combined with the vomit effects, almost all the enemy army could be suffering from -1 to saves (effectively making them rend-2) and not be able to improve their saves whilst drenched. To be extra swampy about things the Troggoth Hag would be thematic and she's pretty good if pricy in points, but for sure get the Marshcrawla in there, maybe 2? Or a Mirebrute to guard the Marshcrawla and toss out more commands, with 2 Fungoids perhaps for extra spells, and the Mork's Mushroom too.
  18. I should be running this tomorrow. Eager to try out the big tarpit of Knights and see if I can lock down the Ironjawz and grind them down. Though from what I hear, they'll probably bum rush me turn 1 and lock me down.
  19. Yeah, I wanted an extra artefact. Good point though, a Bombadier would be fun! I sold off my Night Runners...to pay for some the Deathmasters 🤑 I haven't ever looked at Grey Seers, that would be some extra spell lore to explore. I'll tinker and experiment. Clanrats are in the future for sure. I want to find a preassembled and properly based bunch of 60 though, as I reaaaaally don't want to assemble a horde again!
  20. I found him in the Monstrous Arcanum. Pretty cheap for a Verminlord, can do some damage if he's at full health. I like that spell; seems like an amazing way to force a battleshock test and break coherency on a unit by not charging it (cuz then they could pile-in to fill the gap), just wish the Bravery debuff worked within 13" too! I'm always wary of Forgeworld units though, usually destined for oblivion. But if I find one for a reasonable price would be good for some variety. I'm thinking the Deceiver (devious adversary, flaming weapon, shadow magnet trinket?), Warbringer, Skreech Verminking, 3 Deathmasters, and 3x5 Gutter Runners, plus Vermintide. They could all be hitting on 2s/2s, and all attacking upon dying if need be, pretty awesome IMHO. Gutter Runners could try take out little things with the Deathmasters.
  21. Hmmm, I forgot about the Warpgnaw. Is that not a Legend yet? I'll take a look. I agree, they need some enhancements to be their best, guess with a Command Entourage I can get 1. Or if I run 3 big boyz I could then fit 3 smaller GC heroes to get another, and better score a couple battle tactics. Research time!
  22. For Annhilators is it worth running them in units of 6? Seems like a no, but wondered what others thought. I still have the shield ones from Dominion, and they're way cheaper than the big hammer versions, though in regular combat seem kinda meh. But as a backfield anvil who can drop the bomb, maybe worth taking since they have a 2+ save, plop them in cover, and hold an objective stubbornly? 3 don't seem like enough to do that.
  23. I think because the models aren't cheap or highly available not too many people play them. Definitely a cool looking warband though. And bits to make Chaos Snakemen, or the old metal Snakemen, aren't any cheaper or more plentiful. Definitely a modeling challenge to get variety and a deal. Seems like Marauders with some scaly Seraphon bits would help, and snakes from that Ark of Sotek or whatever it is. Guess if I sell my Gitz, and don't buy more Skaven, or Stormcast, or Chaos Dwarves, or Horus Heresy stuff, and sell some jewelry, I could do this.
  24. I feel the SCE lacks much of the flavorful synergies some newer tomes have, but many of our warscrolls are still strong on their own without help. Dracothian Guard are a favorite of mine, all but the Concussors. They need the MW in addition to damage, not instead. Our CTs kinda stink and are very limited, and the artefacts too. But yeah, not wanting to buy ANOTHER book so soon.
  25. Man, that's lame of the opponent to concede so early. I mean, it's not like it would have lasted that much longer Yes, I would say the Gitz squig buff phenomenon is OP and deserves a heavy points tax, but really should just be rewritten warscrolls. The herd should NOT be 2 wound models. That's just sillyness. They're on 25mm bases for Sigmar's sake!
