  1. Mate, I have read people on internet forums say in all honesty that Games Workshop has been circling the drain since they raised prices to 1GBP per model, or moved from lead to pewter / white metal. For the people who want to see GW fail, all the evidence in the world will not change their view in the slightest.
  2. Apologies for the continued off topic but I have to say that I actually can't imagine a reality like that. On-topic @Shane has posted up what Lady Atia has said re. more daemons. My gut feeling is that we will get Blue Horrors and Brimstone Horrors (maybe in one box?). Secretly though I am also hoping for something completely unexpected like disc riding Horrors, or a new large infantry.
  3. Just a quick note here that on the War of Sigmar blog, Lady Atia [tres reliable] described it as 'it's time for the harpoon'. I would suggest that whatever it is, it is certainly a harpoon. So, steamhead duardin sky pirate mechs with harpoons and scatter guns please.
  4. Just a quick note on the maths re. the stomps - it is not a 50% chance of rolling 6 mortal wounds, it is about 1.5% as there are 64 possible outcomes rolling 6 dice with 1-3 doing nothing and 4-6 doing 1 wound, of which precisely one is 6 wounds, or 1/64 or 1.5%. 3 mortal wounds is pretty much it. My gut feeling though is that Kurnoth Hunters are currently slightly undercosted along with Morghast being slightly overcosted rather than Hunters being right and Morghast massively over costed.
  5. Please let it be so. An ideal result would be something like February Tzeentch book and releases, March new steampunk duardin, April some 40K stuff, then in May a new starter set with a couple of basic units and a new character for Tzeentch and the duardin along with new terrain.
  6. Just to let you know that I have gone in and tried it - like @Bowlzee the new warscroll I created has disappeared.
  7. Not a Google Drive user, so how easy is it to share to a large group, and people unknown to you? Long term it would be great for this to be a community driven resource, and that really needs easy sharing to happen.
  8. For me, I would be happy to sign up to a site if it allows me to save to the site and share that work with others.
  9. Just a quick note - Blood Bowl, Adeptus Titanicus etc are all being done by the new Specialist Games studio, so may or may not overlap with main studio productions, so there release windows are a bit less certain. Anyway, come on September!!!
  10. With you on that. On that subject, have we got any kind of timeframe for the steampunk dorks? I have seen rumours of later this year or early next, but my eternal optimism regarding new dwarfies leads me to hope that the new White Dwarf will feature them (the first weekly issue was the release of the 8th edition dwarfs, so history repeats right?)
  11. From the reviews I have listened to though, GW have been very up front about encouraging people to house rule to improve their experience - the base to base house rule is specifically mentioned. On that basis I would say that if you and your group prefer to not have an initiative roll, then agree to not do it. If it works for you and the people you play with why not do it?
  12. Hi @RuneBrush. Have had a little play, and it is really good so thanks for all the work. If I could make some suggestions they would be the following: Could you put missiles above melee? A very nit picky thing I just find it a bit distracting that it is the opposite way to the normal layout Would it be possible to put in a button to clear all fields? Currently it is little bit fiddly to do lots of different warscrolls. Last one: I have saved a warscroll with two Abilities. When I bring up the saved version I have to manually add a field to the abilities area before it will display both of them. Not sure how easy this would be to solve though? Again, really nice work and a boon to those of us with distinctly average IT skills!
  13. Clearly doesn't include all the points. Looking at the Order scrolls there are no points for Order Draconis, Eldritch Council, Order Serpentis, Free Guild, Wanderers, legacy Empire, legacy High Elves, etc. etc. No doubt the same for other Grand Alliances. Still plenty to find out.
  14. As Jabber Tzeentch says, yes you will. From leaked images we see that Blood Warriors and Bloodreavers are both Battleline. So in a 2,000 points game you could plonk down three units of 10 Bloodreavers, costing 180 points (or some Blood Warriors or whatever as long as you have three Battleline units). You need one leader, but that could be any model. You then have the rest of your points to spend on anything. You do have character, monster, and war machine limits but nothing requires you to fill these with Khorne Bloodbound so Skarbrand, skull cannon etc. are all perfectly valid choices. If you go pure Chaos Grand Alliance it sounds like you also get an extra little bonus.
  15. Lovely work, and agreed on the time crunch issue. I have found that AoS gives good games even down at the two units and some characters level, which is great as often that is my only option! Great painting and hope to see more!
  16. At this point cautiously optimistic. As you say really need to read the book to understand how it all works. Of course, if the points seem good but the unit organisation is a bit duff, I would advocate for free play with army size dictated by points. *edit* just re-read and see the mention of the change in unit classification being ONE of the advantages. Wonder what that means... *edit*
  17. Yes, I agree. GW sells you models and gives you a free rule set that lets you do something with them. You then are free to make a choice - pay for access to value adds they offer for the rule set (General's Compendium, points, battle plans, Times of Wars rules, art, background, battalions etc.), or make up your own, or use community generated add ons, or play a different rule set, or just paint and admire. On the other hand 18 months ago if I had been told that they were going to destroy the Old World, that they were going to round bases, and that the basic rule set would be FREE I would have laughed. So, who knows?
  18. If you look at the far left of the picture you can see an extremely large Treelord shaped figure. I would suggest that the reason we are not seeing Dryads or Treelords is basically because they want to showcase their new releases and encourage excitement around purchase of them, rather than already existing models. Given that both the Dryads and the Treelords were re packaged with round bases, and the cull of the Order Alliance left them around, and we have plenty of other artwork of them in current books, I don't think they are going anywhere.
  19. hey guys. Another picture that appears to be for the new Sylvaneth on War of Sigmar - link is https://war-of-sigmar.herokuapp.com/bloggings/860. Much better quality (to my mind) than the last couple, and I get the following from the picture: Alarielle appears to be the only time we see the beetle, so probably like Archaon or Nagash big beasty that is her mount, not a generic beast (although I would like to be wrong on this) The half aelf / half tree kit is in there so a new infantry kit, which appears to be a dual build with the half beasty / half tree thing A new monstrous tree kin monstrous infantry beasty, who appear to have a couple of weapon options including a bow A four armed thing??? Bottom left. Compared to the skeletons looks to be a monster kind of size, maybe swinging a sword, definitely looking rock hard. Excitement intensifying...
  20. Given the delusions of the Flesh Eater Court maybe the Crypt Flayers see the Sylvaneth as the horrific beasts that they have to ****** up the courage to challenge? An interesting inversion of the old trope of the mindless killing machine baddies versus the plucky underdog good guys. I think from what we have seen of this artwork we can expect a new infantry unit, that appears to construct two different units - a much more elfen unit (you can see them battling the Khorne Daemons in the second picture) and then a much darker take on them shown the first picture. From the artwork from Warhammer Fest we also appear to have a new monstrous infantry unit in a style similar to the Treelord miniature. That which gives us a really coherent visual identity for the army and I would think an interesting gameplay experience. Personally I think this artwork is a little bit cartoony for my tastes (love the pictures we saw from Warhammer Fest personally) but the concept they are depicting is really exciting.
  21. Beautiful looking games, and really for me shows the kinds of armies and tables that we should as a community hold up as being 'how the game should be played'. A battlefield that looks like a real place being fought over, armies with monsters, characters, beasts of all forms, and lots of brutal combat. Also, love the picture of the Hammerers, I can see it in my mind "Oi tall, dead and ugly, come over 'ere and say that -" "Leave it Biffa, 'es not worf it"
  22. The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step. Looking forwards to the journey.
  23. Just saw that Sylvaneth picture and the only problem I have with it is the following: . . . I like it too much. Staunch dwarf player from the beginning, hatred of Elves encoded into my DNA, particularly the willowy wood elves. And now I am looking at that picture, and the Treelord that I got recently, and thinking about how much I like the Dryad kit, and how much I would like to see treemen in the same aesthetic as the Treelord, and I am already working out how to get it all. At this rate I may have to sell the house to free up enough cash to buy everything that I am liking the look of (currently buying Fyre slayers, will be getting Silver Tower, would love an Orruk army, would like to expand my Duardin, more Stormcast and Khorne would be good, the Stormcast Questor is making me think of the old Brunner the bounty hunter books and thinking about a gritty adventuring band who will do anything to strike a blow versus chaos, now Sylvaneth + elves look so tempting...)
  24. In terms of the Waagh bonus, remember that the 6 units is only for the 2 attacks benefit - as long as you roll equal to or under the number of units within 10" the Megaboss and those units gain +1 attack. Also, they don't need to be within 10" when they attack only when he uses the command ability so they can all go after different units. Are you running any battalions? Most of the basic ones are focused on increasing speed. For example if you have picked up one of each of the new releases you can field you can take the Ironfist, which enables units to move d6" in the hero phase, which takes them all up to 7" move, so able to get into combat much quicker. Would help to cut down the amount of shooting you face.
