You can’t take unique units that’s correct. I guess that’s for thematic reasons as you are writing the history of your army as you play. I am sure if you ask your regular opponents if it is okay to house rule that you can I bet few would have a problem with taking unique units. I certainly wouldn’t. Edit: Oops, you can take unique units! They just can't be your general (page 308).

I very nearly called GW customer service to complain. The text is so small it has made it a waste of money for me and there is nothing wrong with my eye sight. I would have returned it only I got it from a small independent game store whilst I was on holidays. As a physical book, definitely not recommended.

One of the best tools that helped my gaming group jump on to the Age of Sigmar bandwagon is the excellent Warscroll Builder. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or inside information on: 1. Is @scrollbuilderdude (bless his cotton socks) working on updating the points and restrictions for third edition? 2. Given it is a major update, is there an estimate on when/if it might be updated? 3. Does anyone have any inside information on the status/points values for legends? (I noticed the Legends page on Warhammer community is down at the moment - could a revamp be imminent?) Hope all are travelling well!

Interesting topic. I am really excited for third edition. I am really looking forward to playing with the latest presentation of the rules. I think the models in Dominion are absolutely superb too. You can bet there is a lot more coming for Stormcast and swamp orruks. If Dominion is still around when players can see the full offering, I think it will see a resurgence in sales. As others have said, it’s nice to see that it isn’t a blink and you will miss it purchase.

I'd consider using Nuln Oil or Drakenhof Nighshade to shade and glaze with washes thinned with Lahmian Medium. I've noticed the gloss often comes when shades pool excessively. Try to wick away any puddles that form in the depths of the folds before you leave it to dry. It is a balancing act though, you want it to accumulate in the recesses somewhat but not too great that it dries funny. If you are using an ink to wash, I found they always come out too glossy and that's why I switched to the Citadel Shade paints. You can remove glossiness though by applying a thin coat of Lahmian Medium. I've heard that painting on thinned PVA glue removes glossiness too but I've never tried it myself. A matt varnish at the end should also do the trick. By the way, your wizard looks ace!

The new Dominion box set is magnificent. I wasn’t initially a huge fan of the new Stormcast design but as a cohesive collection of models - wow. I thought the last box set was incredible but I think this is even better. As for Kragnos, perhaps not my cup of tea but I think he will look just fine leading a bunch of these swamp goblins.

Bit harsh. I am not a Stormcast player but I do think they have some absolutely cracking models. (Like the Castellants, Celestants and Questors). That’s not to say there wasn’t room for improvent. (I’ve always thought the colossal hammers of the liberators looked a tad too heavy to be believable). I was hoping for improved re-sculpts of the existing ‘heavy’ design but I am glad the new models have been so well received. Be interesting to see more.

Firstly, welcome to the community. I am not a Fyreslayers expert, (I think they are awesome though and was thinking about painting one just today actually) but on the topic of using original slayers I can’t see you having any problems unless the unit they represent was unclear. Also, on the GW website where they host the FAQ document, you can find a chart that tells you the recommended base sizes for all models. Some tournaments might require them to be based that way. As for units to take, the game plays well with all kinds of lists. Have you thought about a Magmadroth or two? Also, I think Fyreslayers have their own sub forum in the order section. You might find more expert help there perhaps.

Thanks for sharing this. I did feel Silver Tower was generally too easy but their were occasions when our group got into serious trouble. I was really interested to hear your comments that it isn’t as easy as has been said and I like your ideas for upping the difficulty in a simple way.

I’m hoping for the return of Fenbeasts from the Dark Shadows campaign.

Interesting times! Certainly pleased to see new Stormcast Eternals. They are very well done but I do prefer the original aesthetic. I like the angelic, god-like look of the first versions. They just looked like they could go up against the hellish foes like the Chaos Warriors and crush them into the ground. The more realistic thunderstrike armour is an interesting design choice and a better sculpt but it is a bit too far from what Stormcast represents in my humble opinion. They look so light compared to what has come before. Hard to give them fair judgement though when we haven’t seen the new models arrayed as an army. I am sure they will look great when paired with the adversaries from the starter set.

I like the sound of these changes actually. Especially the Battalion and charge reaction one. Some controls on stacking with these reactions seems like a good idea too. Interesting times ahead.

It's nice for me. Been hitting the hobby pretty hard the last couple of weeks - almost need the time off! That said, I am itching to see the new Soulblight and the Idoneth Deepkin warband for Underworlds.

Regarding playing the game, tell me about it! At least I love painting. Regarding Age of Sigmar, it was when I read Cities of Secrets did the setting just click for me. Haven’t looked back since.

Hi Darnok, long time no see! Yes, well I am a wargaming grognard and am aware of the unreliableness you speak of. Thing is, the guy who runs my local is as honest and nice a bloke as you will ever meet. He fully admits he has no idea most of the time. Judging by the comments from @Sleepers, someone from head office has told Australian managers that there isn't going to be a second run of Cursed City. I'd already pre-ordered so there was no pushiness too. (We used to have a big problem with pushy sales people at GW in the 1990s and 2000s I might add). I am not saying this information is correct, perhaps someone in the Sydney HQ has got their wires crossed, especially given @Svalack's post?

Just got told by my local GW store staff that Cursed City is only going to be done as a single production run. Once sold out then that's it apparently . If you really want it then perhaps don't hold off too long. There were quite a few copies on the shelf at my store in Australia. Also was told that it was far more popular than expected.

Wasn’t the melting in hot weather found to be a myth? I think it started from a YouTube video where a fine cast miniature was placed in the direct sun inside the windshield of a sealed car on a hot summer day. The test showed minimal bending even though the temperature in a hot car can get insane. Not saying bending isn’t an issue and sure resin is routinely adjusted by apply heat but I think the melting part of the criticism was debunked.
