  1. Slaves to Darkness was incredible. Full of so much - interesting rules, lore, artwork, stories. I still remember the story about the two brothers that started each chapter - 1 went Khorne and the other Slaanesh and it followed them to their ends. Personally I blame the parents for letting both kids go off the rails like that. i never had The lost and the damned, but I wish I had!
  2. Got to work on a Chaos marked lord to ride the manticore I finished before Christmas. Just base coats at the moment and I still need to work on the weapons.
  3. So new year and new army. Decided to make a thematic nurgle force. The Ophiocordycepian Despoilers to join my local store slow grow league. This month I want to get and build the starting units. Paint the Daemon prince of nurgle - Ophiocordyceps - this is real life weird fungus which infects ants and turns them into zombies 🧟‍♂️ Build 20 marauders Build a chaos sorcerer lord I also need to finish the Khorne rider for my manticore. progress so far

The summon rules on daemon scrolls were made defunct with AoS 2 and the GHB 2018 which introduced the Khorne and Tzeentch summon rules. when pinks die you gain blue horror points which are spent on the Tzeentch summoning table. This is only available to disciples of Tzeentch armies not Slaves alligience
  5. @Overread hah, actually the first photo are various models I acquired in a few years of Khorne in AoS and hammerhal. What I had not appreciated was that when the new tome landed I pretty much had an army the had appeared by stealth. A few units or warriors and or knights and I will have about 2k haha. I don’t know if it will be any good though but it’s certainly unexpected
  6. There are no dice, all gaming decisions are made by appealing to the spectators who then vote. This did of course lead to the unfortunate incident regarding transferable votes. But that was soon FAQd
  7. With the new scroll i would say the sword due to the extra attack, reach and ability to do MW on a 6. You can always put another MW causing artefact on his talons to op his MW output further as both profiles will be buffed by blood secrator and he will pile in twice with reapers.
  8. I love my daemon prince, the old scroll was pretty good but now it’s ace. I’m going to be buying a second and arm it with the sword, gotta love 2MW on a 6. Put an artefact on his talons and both profiles are doing MW, synergises so well with our inherent buffs and abilities.
  9. I was thinking juggerlord is the best option. With hew the foe and gorecleaver he is doing 7 damage on a 6 at rend 2. With a 3 up save that could be 2 up with bronze flesh. He is also another source of wound rerollls with his command ability. Him and the skullcrushers would charge up the board to take out anything threatening Skarbrand. Reavers and warriors claim objectives/get in the way.
  10. Gotcha. Prince is a good option but is 210 now 😔 Juggernaut lord with gorecleaver can be scary, especially with hew the foe. knights won’t be a bad choice
  11. Knights =\= skull reapers. Their roles are different. Skullsreapers pump out mortal wounds especially against hordes (well units with 5+ models) due to reroll hits and their battleshock immunity is great. They will hold the line Knights are a fast hammer, finishing off units with those lances and then charging the next. Unless you use swords, but then I think reapers with the MW output will do a better job.

  13. Karanak for his flesh hounds, handy unbind and mortal wounds when dispelling an endless spell. He won’t take a leader slot either
  14. Gaunt summoner can pull a unit of lesser daemons from a realm gate each turn. Other than that I don’t know of any that are not tied to allegiance abilities.
  15. Some more general thoughts on Khorne, apologies if you already know or do this. Khorne is a relatively complex army of buffs and synergies, correct placement and remembering rules followed by doing them in the right order is really important. While that comes from playing more games you can do a few things to help yourself. AoSreminders can create a handy cribsheet for your army and artefacts, with actions broken out by phase. Or you can make your own. Either way is good. I find Having the warscrolls printed out and in front of me in a row. With heros in the order I tend to use their buffs also helps. Tokens as well can be helpful to track effects. Bear in mind the synergy ranges. For example , the blood secrator range is 18 inch and he only moves 4 inch plus run. This could slow the front edge of your army down if you need that +1 attack. So you need to consider options eg Gore pilgrims, bloodstoker to whip him, realm artefact to move faster, alternative way to do a similar effect eg second pile in with reapers, placing him more forward and moving him ahead a turn before, castling.
  16. I like that rules preview. Hopefully the final tome lives up to expectations. I was thinking of Slaves to fold into my Khorne but I am now tempted to build a bigger army too.
  17. Now I play Khorne mortals so have little experience of a daemon army. However, somethings I note above You currently have 1 thirster. I find with these guys you need to go all in or go home ie get more as they support one another and opens up tyrants of blood battalion which allows all your thirsters to fight one after the other Murderhost is another useful battalion to consider and works with your current units. mix in skulltaker to reroll wounds of 1 and a fury thirster for the 6 inch pile in - with murderhost, 6 inch run and 6 inch pile you will get across the board fast. Plus you dictate the combat phase as he can’t pile in Mortals will give your army some back bone and access to abilities outside of the daemons. For example dark feast allows you to cheaply bring and drop a priest plus lots of reavers, for bodies on the ground. Gorepilgrims brings al your support and some chaff. Skull reapers for MW on the attack and a pretty solid anvil. Blood alter is not worth bringing, skull cannon on its own is fairly poor. Good in units of 3 with a hero for locus. Herald of Khorne should be summoned. I am not a fan of bloodcrushers. In packs of 6 you only need to lose one to lose the big MW effect Miltiple small units are Khornes friend, each is a cheap tithe and also Consider adding in the following 10 more hounds to run 3 packs of 5 Fury and rage thirsters (maybe down grade the wok bt to fury and get 2 rage) Mortals are worth considering, but appreciate they might not be your thing. Plenty of Khorne daemon armies have minimal mortals, and sometimes none, and do fine.

  19. I want to finish off my Khorne Chaos lord on manticore and I also have some more scenery for my local club to paint. After that I have a war queen and skull reapers to work on.
  20. Done some scenery painting for my local gaming club in Bury. Was quite satisfying to paint. I will pick some more up this week. Otherwise I am working on a manticore lord for my Khorne army and in prep for the Slaves tome coming in a week or two. I have also been passing on advice to an aspiring Khorne player.
