  1. Thats fairly standard FW pricing. As has been said SC previously were never without a hat, they changed that with Sacrosanct by supplying a few options in the kits (13 i think in Sequitors, 7 helmets, 6 without), but not so much they wouldnt match with original stuff. This is just a way to provide options for people who want a lot of models without helmets.
  2. Have to say, love them. Im sure some will look odd, but the correct posing will help. Only irritation for me is ive just built all mine! I hope they do other upgrade packs, i like being able to customize my stuff. I appreciate some people would like new and different stuff, but everyone wants something different so you can never please everyone, but i fully anticipate we will be another batch of Stormcast-hate as usual <yawn>.
  3. You can do what you want in your games, doesnt mean you can tell others how to play their game.
  4. There is specifically an FAQ answer which says warscrolls from sources not in battletomes are valid until they are replaced. Yes some people blinker themselves to GHB only, however this is only going to lead to problems in the future as White Dwarf starts releasing issues with new rules for AoS (Feb is set to give new rules for Stormcast Hammers of Sigmar) which have been specified as intended for match play.
  5. They also talked about staff starting armies they know kits are coming out for in 2 years 😁
  6. But if you leave assassins etc. as they are, they are a perfect allies faction. Plugging everything skaven into a unified tome just means you end up with 'optimal' choices that combo well, and effectively you end up with half the models underused (after everyone clamored for them to be made into plastic). Or elite units that shouldnt be armies get spammed because they work with a certain allegiance ability or something and you get stupid looking 'armies'. There is a reason factions got split up, because they can become factions, rather than a footnote as part of a larger tome.
  7. But youve now moved away from spells (cos you dont want Dwarfs to have spells) into something totally different that cant use the spell mechanic because it would make no sense to dispel torpedos.
  8. Finally got round to listening to this. Im not a huge fan of radio plays (characters verbalising what they are doing rather than a narrator) so had some trepidation going into it. Its started a little awkwardly i thought, Volkners verbalizing throughout was a little jarring where he was not interacting with other characters, but got going once there were character interactions. I struggled at times to 'believe' in situations, mainly where the characters were being attacked, it felt like there was no peril, the way it came across sounded like they were batting away a mosquito not being charged by monsters and the result was always them just suddenly out of trouble with no believable or understandable justification. Perhaps this is because of the format, maybe a fade/gap between scenes of fighting to safety would have helped. Summary; Enjoyed it, points where scenes seemed under described and hence lost the immersion a little, good character development story while waiting for the next book, worth a listen.
  9. Well they are supposed to be 'start collecting' not 'cheap army builder set' Tis a shame though. None of them are exactly bristling with multiple options or the more popular units, so a hefty saving meant you bought something youd likely never have chosen otherwise and might sway you into choosing that army.
  10. How are people painting up their Grundstock units? I see a lot in the same scheme as the rest of the army, but has anyone painted them up like the privateers/hired guns they are portrayed as in the lore? I have another frigate and 10 thunderers so planning to paint them with a different scheme but same basing.
  11. I think it’s the opposite actually 🤔. KO don’t have any solid line infantry, they fold if they get charged. Dispossessed are solid but have no mobility. Combine them both, or use them as allies one way or the other, and you can get a solid force that can strike out for objectives. Certainly a force no worse then either on its own at least.
  12. Glad its not just me. If you didn't know this audio book existed you'd struggle to find it, they don't even link it from the Spear of Shadows book page. Despite the majority of their books being series, there are never any clear ways to find what other books are in the series, what order to read them or if there are any related series or non-series books. EDIT: Spear of Shadows was awesome and cant wait to find time to give Eight Lamentations a proper listen (this is why i came to this page, got distracted by the need for a rant 😁)
  13. !!! 😧 You were quoted earlier in this thread that you knew Skirmish was coming and that it was kill team, now youre not sure??? People complain this thread is more discussion that rumour, thats because ^^^ rumours are never as reliable as they are made out to be.
  14. Dont forget you still need to follow the 1 in 4 allies rule (20% points limit) so focus on those big monster allies ;0)
  15. So FAQ drop has changed Free Cities again, this time with a nice twist. Free cities can now take allies!
  16. What happened to the Bloodletters, they only seemed good when maxed out and with multiple buffs stacked on them. Potentially tough but beatable with some tactics and good army composition. As someone new to the game a few years back that approach was the template for almost everything else, until they went the way of crazy strong allegiance abilities instead.... wonder if a new Khorne tome is coming sooner rather than later, since the general discussion about Slannesh suggest it might not be coming quite so soon (based on how little its been hyped, compared to the other Great Powers in previous years). hmmm.
  17. Just remember, dont use the words Meta, Bretonnian or Tomb-Kings, as it will then just go straight to their spam folder 😁
  18. This gets brought up a lot, im pretty sure GW staff are not ignorant of the opportunity, but its not appeared yet so they obviously decided their efforts (in terms of what has been released to date at least) will yield more profit elsewhere. If people really want that type of battletome they need to email GW and show them there is a market for it.
  19. Essentially GW cant win. They list by all allegiances and you get gamers coming out in cold sweats and itchy palms because they cant stand a faction being 'incomplete' in their eyes. List by battletomes and people complain GHB allegiances are not represented. List but those with GHB allegiance abilities and you dismiss some valid factions that just dont have GHB rules.
  20. Dispossessed dont all live in free cities, but as the narrative of AoS is still being created we will see most stories from the perspective of humans (and Stormcast). There are snippets about Dwarven populated cities or fortresses so more will come, it just takes time. For interesting lore read the 'Spear of Shadows' book, it has the characters venture through a lost ancient Dwarven forest city where the Dwarves literally grew the city using their engineering to shape the trees as they grew. This just shows the scope for what the Dwarven race could be turned into, but what we have at the moment is literally the Dispossessed, those that have been forced out their cities by Chaos. The Free cities they also visit in the book have amazing scope for development and are so much more than just a 'dump' for the other races. If youve not read that book I highly recommend it.
  21. The set was called the Vale of Ghyran, it was 4 citadel woods for £60 (rrp £18 per wood, so £3 saving per wood). There still seem to be a few sets with online sellers (in the UK) but it is a ltd seasonal product so once they are gone thats it.
  22. Really? They deleted a topic that was just a list of rumours? Or did you post leaked images or something against the rules maybe? If you made a topic called 'The Rumour List' im sure no one would have issue with it.
  23. There is nothing stopping you creating that other topic. Leave this one as is and anything 'solid' that comes out of it people can post into the other. Note that neither threads are moderator controlled and if you want rumours to be posted into that other thread then you will have to do it or encourage others to do on your behalf.
  24. Its funny how angry some people get just because there is a number of incomplete factions. Its like they cant stand the 'dis-order' of it. They will post that GW simply 'MUST' reorganise them or put out a combined battletome. They will insist on even terrible options that would stall the creative options available purely to have AoS 'completed' with no loose ends. I dont get it, whats wrong with having factions that are incomplete, it gives those models an identity until their faction is explored in the next few years or finally wound down, why does it need to be done 'NOW'. Just because you cant make a nice 2000pt army with it does not make it pointless, they are still valid for narrative and open gaming.
  25. Ha! I knew someone would immediately come back with that line. MUST COMPLETE EVERYTHING, LEAVE NO LOOSE ENDS!!! They are just tidying up, many posts previous have been complaining its not clear to new people which are the main factions, so they have prioritized those and listed the rest under grouped headings. I dont imagine this means all Aelves will be given a Aelves battletome. Skaven arnt even split out into Pestilens and non-battletome stuff for example
