  1. It also says any other rules specific to the terrain is still in place. So for example the Gloomtide Shipwrecks still have to be 6" from objectives. Emphasis is mine: In a Pitched Battle, faction terrain must be set up more than 3" from any other terrain features and more than 1" from any objectives, in addition to any other restrictions that apply to it.
  2. They dont really need more than 2 CP generally. Everything but the general is usually in range of the throne for a free summon, then the general has 2 for his summon and feeding frenzy. The CP change doesnt really hurt FEC much.
  3. I dont think that actually changes anything. The rules for the ship are below, I dont believe Allies gain the Idoneth Deepkin keyword so they still would not be affected. Roll a dice each time a wound or mortal wound is allocated to an Idoneth Deepkin unit wholly within 6" of this terrain feature. On a 6+ the wound is negated.
  4. Good to know. I honestly havent looked at it much other than a quick glance at the new deployment, still working my way through all the new ones.
  5. Sure until you get in to Duality of Death and those eels and Namarti cant hold objectives for you. There is a place for them, and quite honestly my Sea Eidolon has tanked more damage than just about any other unit in my army in most games I take him in. He is still one of the few units that can get a 2+ rerollable, he's prone to MW's but there are ways to mitigate that like artifacts. I do agree with your last point though, I've tested an Eidolon/Namarti Corps army and its pretty awful, Eidolonn/King/Eels and go for turn 3 high tide is quite effective though.
  6. The Eidolons really arent that bad. Ignore Verminlords for a minute and they only need to drop to 350-380 and they would be pretty solid. I've played them at the old points and had success at large events, its really not as bad as expressed here.
  7. Interesting if thats the case but its always been FAQ'ed that we cant place two ships within 6" of each other. I need to see when I can get my hands on my GHB.
  8. The more I think about it I could actually see a use for a unit of 2 sharks. I just dont know what I would drop from my current lists to get them and i'm not sure if they would be worth it still, but at 240 points they could be nice to have roaming around killing smaller heroes. I expect I would find the 20 point drop still isnt enough to make them viable over Ishlaen though.
  9. I think we'll see bigger cuts on the Reavers than 10-20 points. Thralls will probably be 20. I think if they were all +-10 it would have said so in the article. But this could just be wishful thinking. I'm with you on the Allopex for sure, I have 2 I would love to get on the table.
  10. Have you playtested with larger units of Thralls or with the Eidolons? This is just parroted on the internet with very little backing it up. For example i took a list to LVO and came 20th with an Ediolon and would have been higher than that if i hadnt had a total loss of intelligence playing against the Khorne dragon. Eidolon of the sea is actually quite good, i will admit Verminlords definitely change how I view him but we all know that Verminlords need some pretty big adjustments to put them in line with every other similar unit. A unit of 20 Thralls backed by a Soulrender are very decent and honestly dont even need buffs to kill most things. I've played with that quite a bit in multiple tournaments and games and think i've lost the unit 1 time. Yes you will want eels for a competitive list but you can build an army with a bit of Namarti and Eels and still be plenty competitive. FEC and Skaven definitely skew things but again we all know they are undercosted for the most part so the comparison is not really worth making, unless they dont get changed in July. Allopex/Leviadon/Lotann are in serious need of some help though. Depending on the points drop on the Leviadon he could be worth taking. Sharks and Lotann probably need a rewrite or to cost half their points to be worth taking.
  11. I tend to speculate to the positive, makes life a bit less miserable in my opinion. But either way works I suppose.
  12. I had the same problem! Dont care enough to rewrite it really either haha.
  13. People dont like Eels cause they claim its the only way to win tournaments. I disagree, especially with point changes, but its the easiest list to write, paint and play for Idoneth. They are also well costed but they honestly didnt need more than a 10-20 point bump to get them in line. Again I really doubt they showed everything in the article, when do they ever have a comprehensive list of changes or reveals in a community article? People need to wait til the book is out before freaking out about missed changes.
  14. The 10 point increase isnt much but coupled with changes to Thralls and Reavers we may end up being seen more Namarti. Instead of a 20 point difference between those units you're now looking at 40+(probably at least 50), which can be a decent reason to go in harder on Thralls who are already quite good. I do agree that there need to be more reductions though. Allopex, Eidolons and Lotann all need pretty decent cuts unless we see some of the newer comparable units hit with pretty hefty point raises(Verminlords). I would bet this isnt a comprehensive list though.
  15. A block of hearthguard berserkers holding a spot with eels for fast movers could possibly be a nice start to the army. I still havent seen all the rules though, not sure how to make heroes priests and I dont recall all the prayers. So it could depend on that a bit.
  16. How would you not? The tray is a set shape and size, you're definitely going to move beyond that at some point when piling in. An easy way to visualize that is putting a 10/20 man unit into a large based monster, you have to remove models from the tray to wrap around the base.
  17. No rim but magnetized doesnt really seem much better than a rim though, you're still going to have to break the magnetic force to get them off the tray. I 3D print my own, I generally use them until I charge and just take them off the tray as part of the charge move since i know i'll be piling in after that. It does speed up set up and the early movement phases, and I like to transport them in the trays so I can see how many of each model i have at a quick glance. I use magnets to transport and they stick through the tray since its only 1mm thick.
  18. On the community site. They posted an unboxing article that shows the Kurnoth scroll in one picture.
  19. If its anything like the Blood Bowl games it will be fine.
  20. I ordered these from Amazon :https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001K7Q6Z0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It was way more than I needed. I just cut them with a ruler/hobby knife to the length/width I needed.
  21. Would work depending on how deep you want to pour it. Shallow pours would probably be okay, but anything over probably 6-7mm would be risky. Edit: Make sure you do it on a cookie sheet or something like that as well. I had a few leaks and was lucky I had put it on something other than my desk or I would now have a pool of resin where I paint.
  22. Its not too hard. Get some thin plastic sheets, cut them to length/width appropriate for the base you're using. Glue them into a cylinder then use PVA glue to glue them to the bases. I did it on a lot of my bases and it was pretty simple.
  23. Hitting the general at range, I would imagine. Even if its only knocking a few wounds off of it to ensure Thralls/Eels kill it.
  24. I was outdropped by them in the game I played so no choice there. It didnt help that he rolled a 13 on the Vortex spell so I couldnt even attempt to unbind it. I'm also still not entirely sold on reavers, they either seem to do okay for me or absolutely nothing but are never great. We're starting up a semi-competitive campaign here soon though so i'll finally get some more game in, i've had like 3 games total since LVO.
