  1. I hope you are right. That would be amazing. My personal take on the tithe is this. First of all, the music seems Mongolian inspired, including the Morin khuur sounding instrument (the lute). Secondly, the top of the spires in the artwork seem to have stupa, which means the place shown is likely holy ground. Maybe a holy burial ground of some sort to keep some evil locked up. Thirdly, the title is tithe of bones, and the "pact of bones has been broken" according to the ogres, whom themselves also seem to be Mongolian inspired. The voice actor is Jim Cummings? I'm not sure though. Either way, if it is, Jim used a voice similar to the one he used for loremaster cho, an Asian themed character in world of Warcraft. It would make sense he would use that voice to represent an Asian character? I think it'll definitely be some sort of Asian themed army, most likely undead. I for one look forward to it. It would be amazing if it's undead Cathay or Nippon haha
  2. I just hope the game is relatively balanced and not 1 warband dominating the table.
  3. Awesome share! The starter set seems quite affordable for whats inside it, but wow at that cypher lords price. I was sort of expecting the warbands to be around the 30 euro range, a bit similar to Underworlds.
  4. Fair enough :P. Us skaven players need to scavenge for bits the most it seems. So many conversions.
  5. Just use corvus ruleset with eshin models? The birds can be substituted with rats. They seem the most eshin anyways.
  6. I think while none of us benefit, its still a personal choice wether we are willing to support their price increase or not. Apparently up until now increasing prices has only increased their profits, and from a company who's main purpose of existing is to make money, its just extra cash. I heavily question the morality behind such decicions though. Also in other games/companies like MtG, where product price was doubled or even tripled for certain things. I dont think to keep going up is a sustainable business model. What you want to aim for is customer stickiness, and I think they are trading for short term profit instead of long term customers. As a hobbyist that is already invested in the hobby I'll likely continue buying their products from time to time, but right now I'm only spending about 20 euro a month on GW products, while in the past I would eagerly put aside 60 up to 300 on some occassions. I am losing trust in GW as a company due to their constant cost increases and making old stuff obsolete, wether on purpose by discontinueing products or accidentally as a by-product of bad rule design (which may subjectively also be on purpose). As of right now though, I have not seen any company making miniatures as detailed as they do (lore wise as well), so they got such a tight monopoly on the wargaming industry with the quality of stuff they put out, it'll be hard for anyone to step up and compete at their level. Which makes it look grim to me that prices will ever come down. And all this is coming from a person living in europe. I cant imagine how people feel in the US, new zealand, etc. I do fear that more people will reach out to recasted stuff as a result as well. I am a GW purist and own zero recasts, but I've seen people shamelessly buy recasted stuff at locals a lot. I bet there will be even more now.
  7. I may have missed some price increases, but I've seen prices going up on 4 occassions the past 5 years alone. A lot of stuff has almost doubled in price during that period. Not sure if it was for these specifically. Indeed. To add to this, a lot of models get discontinued often, leaving you with unuseable stuff, unless your opponent lets you proxy it for something else. Which locally seems to be frowned upon. I think this combination of prices going up and older models becoming obsolete is quite irritating and makes products feel like a bad investment at times.
  8. The price increases are getting a bit out of hand though. I mean, nobody is forced to buy stuff at this price, but with little disposable income its starting to get increasingly difficult to maintain the hobby. I hope sales (and as a result profits) will go down a bit so they can reflect on their action. But oh well. We'll see.
  9. Probably a sea lion, pun and all. My guess is an Idoneth Deepkin warband . Then again.. Other than the base it hardly has any fish-like appearance :(.
  10. I see! Thats very interresting. I guess the playstyle may be completely different from most the specialist kind of games in that case. Hopefully they will have some more teasers info up online soon. Fair enough, but I think there is some validity that if it were to be a competitive game, they would likely have stated it as part of their marketing :P. But lets see what its going to be like! Maybe it'll even end up as a game system where fans custom build their own rules around like some of the older games GW no longer supports.
  11. I see :(, thats a real shame. Was really looking forward to figure out to play that crow warband properly. Oh well, maybe in the future they get updated to a full army.
  12. The whole GW specialist games line starts to feel quite bloated. I just hope it'll be at least somewhat optimized for competitive play and not yet another game where certain warbands shine and others don't stand a chance (like in warhammer underworlds right now). All the bloat in ranges isn't helping either.
  13. I am waiting for new nightrunner kits to be released. Some of conversion work is possible and doable, but it's hard to do it below 50$/10 when you add up all the costs of bits, etc . I really hope GW finally gets incredibly ashames of their nightrunners and gives us a new kit. I think it would be fine if they were made from re-used assets from shadespire skaven with different weapons, but similar poses. Easy for production and looks amazing. We really need new sculpts.
  14. I see. I completely missed the "must be 1000 points" part. Thanks for clarifying :).
  15. I see thank you! Indeed. Maybe they are changing stuff up and we wont need 3 battleline at 2k anymore. Would open some room for armies with heavy battleline tax as well.
  16. Does this mean you can only take 2 units of clanrats per army for example? Or am I misreading it? I think this type of play will stop the 1 turn games at least. It may be great for IDK as well
  17. An army of skaven that stole warmachines/weapons from all other factions would be amazing haha
  18. They should seriously start making these rule updates dynamic and digital. 6 months of production requirement to push out a book is too long to be relevant to the current meta.
  19. I used to paint every single detail, do subassemblies, etc. Nowadays for tabletop standard I build everything at once and follow the "if the brush cant reach it, the eye cant see it" mentality. Lots of grey hilts under cloaks as a result! It also helps to make what the eye does see consistent with each other, no weird shading, which sometimes happens when glueing stuff together. Or random gaps for that matter. If you pre-shade with a good drybrush and apply thin layers you can always pick out some stuff after you are done to add some character to your miniature.
