  1. Norba Miniatures do some Chaos Dwarfs as well. https://www.norbaminiatures.com/en/
  2. You already got a lot of good advice, but also check out the Blades of Khorne endless discussion thread too. Everyone there will gladly give you feedback on lists or whatever. If you scorn loathsome sorcery, you will be welcomed:
  3. Yeah I love Skullreapers, end of story. But I reckon just make the Exalted the General, emotionally deal with the loss of Blooded Lieutenant, and send him into battle with his cool spear, Rend resistance, and maybe an occasional To Wound reroll from the Stoker. I just don't think the Secrator is gonna kill any Heroes for you mate.
  4. I think your list is fine, and I reckon units of 6 Crushers are very good value, but I would definitely give the Daemon Prince the Sword of Judgement or Runic/Dimensional Blade rather than put the Talisman on the Priest. Either will make him a lethal combatant who capitalises on the Reapers command. You should also add the Ruinous Icon. You have 40pts spare and two Priests.
  5. I reckon Darkfire Daemonrift is gold, especially with multiple double-casters in almost every LoCA list. Each caster can be a vehicle for annoying little path-blocking Endless Spells (gravetide, palisade et al), which amplify the damage of the Daemonrift. Combine that with enemy (or friendly!) Wizards in the Daemonrift's vicinity, and it becomes a disgusting wrecking ball. I think Purple Sun and the Aethervoid Pendulum may be good value for the Changeling or Corruptor, who can quickly get into the enemy's lines. Be'lakor needs to be a little more cautious and stay near his Battleline bodyguards.
  6. @Grimrock well I decided to give Skarr a crack. I can't deal with the official model though, so I converted a Norsca-style one with a swirling cloak.
  7. Only if you expect them to do damage though. As mentioned, in that list they're just little tarpits in an army of tarpits. And I don't think that's necessarily bad when you've got flying characters and spells who can do a bit of damage themselves, claim objectives etc.
  8. @Grimrock thanks for the advice mate. Very sound. I confess I've never played Skullfiend, but I was really just hoping that Master Decapitator would help push me to Lvl 8 faster. Obviously one goal is to have intact Slaves units attacking twice with rerolls, exploding attacks and +2 attacks, but it's certainly not trivial to get all that to line up properly...
  9. I hope this isn't bad manners to mention in the StD thread, but I believe I play Slaves units in Khorne allegiance in the way you describe. Slaves units get the opportunity to shine offensively in Khorne. But you need Khorne units too... PS: Were you a Khorne-marked Chaos Warriors with Halberds kind of guy? Those were the days. 🙂
  10. Would appreciate some honest feedback on this one. It's a simple theme. Heaps of threats. Heaps of attacks. Make Bloodreavers great again. Maybe get to Lvl 8 Tithe by Turn 2-3. 11. All that is true, but I don't see any other non-char units in our list doing an average of 15 wounds on the charge (10 of them Mortal) for 240pts. Even Mortek Guard aren't safe. But to answer your question, I reckon the Verminlord Corruptor with the Four-fold Blade is our best hammer (with all his various shenanigans). Dude is nuts. But the main reason (for me) to take Crushers is the regen from Be'lakor, especially when you've got 3 packs of 6 of them all rerolling those nasty charges. An average of 4 whole Bloodcrushers for a measly command point in any Battleshock phase is pretty damn good. Our maybe just don't use them as a hammer at all, but as cheap regenerating tarpits of 5 units of 3 each. Then you're getting an average of like 7 whole Bloodcrushers for a command point. Like this: Allegiance: Legion of Chaos AscendantBe'Lakor (240)- General- Spell: Echo of HatredThe Changeling (120)- Spell: Bolt of RuinVerminlord Corruptor (280)- Artefact: Fourfold Blade- Spell: Bolt of RuinBloodmaster, Herald of Khorne (80)- Artefact: Aetherquartz BroochBloodmaster, Herald of Khorne (80)10 x Bloodletters (110)10 x Bloodletters (110)10 x Bloodletters (110)3 x Bloodcrushers (120)3 x Bloodcrushers (120)3 x Bloodcrushers (120)3 x Bloodcrushers (120)3 x Bloodcrushers (120)Host of Rage (160)Darkfire Daemonrift (50)Prismatic Palisade (30)Suffocating Gravetide (20)Malevolent Maelstrom (10)Total: 2000 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1Allies: 0 / 400Wounds: 125 Backslide mentioned an attrition kind of style to the faction. I tend to agree with him. In this list, all the summoned stuff (Horrors, Plaguebearers) just bogs them down along with the Crushers. The only serious, mobile damage is from the Verminlord and the Daemonrift.
  12. Just an alternate thought, but scrapping a unit of Reavers and a Khorgie for an additional 3 Skullcrushers (for a unit of 6) creates a serious, fairly mobile, extremely tanky threat. Nobody wants to be charged by 6 Crushers, and many people will panic and/or change their plans around them. That's 2 less deployment drops as well. I would echo what Salyx said about the Chungus Lord too. Go full offensive with him with a Rune Blade / Dimensional Blade. He is there to kill guys and reap Tithe. Also, he has some defence and healing anyway. You have a whole battalion that is centred around the Secrator, so give him the Thronebreaker's Torc and keep his awesome aura up and running. A lot of people prefer the Rage Thirster as a standalone Thirster, but I actually agree with your choice. The WoK Thirster is a great utility and more reliable. I would give him an offensive weapon rather than protective armour though. Good choice of Judgements. The Blessings are perfect for this list (and even better with 6 Crushers), although I'm personally addicted to Blood Sacrifice to crawl further up the Tithe ladder and expand options.
  13. I do great with Astral Templars and either Ord + 4 Ballistae or 6 Desolators. That's two more options that I think are definitely legit. Having said that, it's frustrating that OTT tomes have shifted us way down the tiers, and our tome itself is (IMHO) terrible in terms of internal balance, functionality (eg: most battalions and Hallowed Knights self-owning lol) and therefore list-building.
  14. lol I'm blind. Please ignore me. I dig that you packed in all the Judgements. I like to do that too now. I think they're underrated. The opponent can't do anything about them. They just have to cop it.
  15. Haha, very cool. The Skullfiend Tribe command really helps to mitigate the Khorgies' vulnerability to debuffs (as a single unit), and you actually have some potentially nasty short range shooting! Mindbending. I would change one of those Bronzed Flesh to a Brazen Fury perhaps. You can only use one of each prayer per turn, and it would be terrible to lose Khorgies to battleshock...
  16. Works fine for me. Did you pick Legion of Chaos Ascendant for both your allegiance and unit selection field?
  17. That's a good trade for getting some Horrors running around in the enemy's backfield. Given that Unyielding Legions and Arch-deceiver both occur "at the end of your movement phase", can you simply do one after the other in Turn 1? Also, which Endless Spell did you spend your 30pt spare change on?
  18. Sweet! That's good news. Here's the list I'm assembling as of right now. 2 drops. Maximum command points. A good number of wounds. Very importantly, makes use of my unused models and should be nice and easy to paint! I toyed with the idea of Skull Cannons, but I feel like you just don't get enough shots for your points, and there's no way to really buff them. I considered a Thirster and 3x6 Crushers but the faction doesn't make Thirsters as scary as in Khorne, just a tiny bit more durable... I also thought about a Gaunt Summoner, but then the Bloodcrushers have to go to 2x6 and 2x3 just to fill the battalion properly, and I like the big d3-per-model MW charges and capacity to cop a bit of shooting before losing that. I foresee lots of super janky lists with cloned Summoners and a billion summoned Horrors though... Hope this allegiance doesn't ruin the game in that respect. 19. Skullreapers are awesome, and many people take them. I often take 10, and they've pretty much destroyed entire armies for me in the past. EDIT: sorry, just realised heaps of people already replied with much more detail. Good job lads. Khorne thread is best thread.
  20. Sorry man, I was just waffling about the Chaos Lord in a vacuum really and yeah, you can't have everything. The Chungus Lord is a pure killer with one of those Rend -3 weapons and significantly easier to buff (than a maxed unit) with the Chaos Lord's command - cloak or no cloak! In fact, your list is quite good for that in that regard with no huge swarms. I always get frustrated with the Bloodmarked Warband (usually when the third Chaos Spawn waddles into the list to make up the numbers).
  21. Yeah, I've found that the Chaos Lord isn't so great without the Thermalrider Cloak. Obviously you take him almost entirely for his command, but with Hew the Foe and double weapon profile he's an awesome beatstick for his measly points. Having 7 (!) wounds helps a lot too.
