  1. what helmet did you use on the Vampire lord there? Nice job! I like the standing person in front of the vengorian
  2. Can I use deathly invocation and invigorating aura on units brought back by endless legions to bring the unit back to its original size? for example a unit of 20 zombies died, 10 comes back, and I use invigorating aura and deathly invocation to bring back 3+d3 more. Thanks
  3. no, he lost his 'PRIEST' keyword in the new SBGL book
  4. Thanks for collecting these questions. As for the phrasing 'Is this intended?' is fine, since it conveys the 'wtf is this ******' and 'this makes no sense' reactions and opinion that ppl generally have for this book.
  5. I'm hoping the errata will include the shields in their save and they'll get at least their dmg 2 back

  7. I'm not 100% sure about the new summoning. Can someone please confirm how much we can summon back? 3 models with the invigorating aura spell d3 models with the deathly invocation ability so is it a max of 3+d3 = 4-6 models per unit? and no unit can benefit from these even from separate sources? Seems pretty bad Also did you guys notice we don't have any defense against shooting? I like skeletons coming back on 4+ after they've been destroyed but thats just only in the fight phase.
  8. Keywords are always bold capitals so its keywords - vlozd can get this.
  9. not to mention that are no more NH or morghasts or arkhan - and don't tell me I can still bring nh as allies because as far as I know most of the Lon players had tons of chainrasps, grimghasts and hexwraiths since they were the units which enabled us to survive the meta at all. this is the second time in like 2 years time where a new book invalidates a part of my collections. First one was my transition from WHFB to aos2 and now this ******. Outrage.
  10. Let me recommend the cairn wraith to everyone. My opponents got used to be very annoyed by them and I use them quite a lot since: - they are only 60 points - they provide the 6+ aura - they can support your troops with some MW output -they can suicide charge to block an enemy unit from charging or they can suicide charge lone characters and wizards -they can use command abilities on your troops should you need it (charge re-roll and unbreakable) -they can actually survive, especially if you position them properly where they cannot be hit, but they can hit with their 2" weapon I rather have two of them instead of having a necro who either can't get the spells off since I don't roll high enough or they just simply get unbound. 130 points wasted most of the time. If I want magic, I take arkhan or nagash, that's it.
  11. Can we not have these kind of topics here please? I feel that they are add no value to our hobby, nor to the discussions. Please do not bring real life politics into a hobby forum. Thanks
  12. Deathmarch 150 Morghast did not change despite them being 190 in obr now nor did hexwraits - they are 130 in NH Everything else is untouched. I think the blood knights have been reduced because the remaining LoN players are playing LoB now? I think that's just the final nail in the coffin (haha) for us now. No ethereal amulet and no point cost reduction in core units and heroes which I think we needed the most. Sad
  13. I am sorry, but I for one am not interested in real world politics in a hobby forum. I come here to read and talk about plastic soldiers. I understand your intentions, but who are you to demand such things? Like really? If you were a government organisation for example who can supervise work ethics and diversity and such, that would be cool, but this? Please. This is unfortunately an example for using the hobby for personal political gains. Funny as it sounds. Like if I was asking you to chose your friends based on colour and not on merit. Please do not bring any more real life politics into this or any other hobby forum ever. Thanks
  14. Personally, I am not buying anything else until at least there are some 'legit' rumours about what is going to happen with our army. I have been burned by the transition from WHFB to AOS once (bye ghoul part of my army) and I'm not getting burned again, or atleast I am trying to reduce the damage by not buying all kinds of stuff. I would gladly see the army to continue as it is now with some mortal followers and cool vampire characters or units. Hell vampires can easily infiltrate cities and enemy territories and can raise an army of dead right behind enemy lines. I also hope we are not getting vampire coast as that would be just a milkng of a cash cow thanks to total war 2 and it would differ from our current theme meaning a 'soft' squat. They can always bring back Luthor Harkon and make him a more important character in the death armies (or a new mortarch even) but personally having a compulsory pirate themed army would be too much.
  15. If you are playing with lots of LOS blocking terrain maybe - but then, he won't be in range to provide his 6" aura and stuff.
  16. We are playing our slow grow campaign since december (750,1000,1500,2000pts) and my general is always a vamp lord. Personally I think it is expensive for what it does and dies to a mean stare, however: It can fly which should be always taken - in this way it can fly away from danger and into the center of 'donought' shaped units. It should stay away from combat, unless he is overpowering someone or you have no other choice. His spells are a bit counter-intuitive since he has to hang back otherwise it will die, so you won't have range most of the time with 12" spells. But on the bright side, from the points not paid for the vlozd, you can bring more units. His CA is also useful. Also, retreat from combat 90% of the time with him. I will take 1 as my general to our next tourney from 1500pts - he will take gryph feather charm for -1 to hit, combined with another one -1 from lookout sir, he will be 'fairly ok' surviving some shots here and there. Might also survive one round of an OBR catapult shot if im lucky, but I am not counting on that. TL;DR - an outdated piece which is expensive for what it does, dies to a breeze and won't have range with its spells most of the time, but you can save a lot of points with it and can still fly away from danger and into gravesite range easily. Has a useful CA and can support with spells and unbind here and there.
  17. The thing is with Ghon that is currently a bit underperfoming due to the meta that emerged in the last 6 months or so. You have -1 rend on enemies everywhere which will just deny your shields across all your the army. The other thing is that nighthaunt units are generally always almost better for the same role vs skeletal stuff due to the better move and ethereal save and in case of chainrasps, for the same points. One of my favourite artifacts is ossific diadem which will go well with a full skeleton army in case you are not bringing vlozd with ethereal amulet. Rolling 6+/6+/6+ for a block of 30 grave guards is just so cool. The other thing that occurred to me that bigger units of GG or BK can act as both your anvils and hammers if you play them right. They can pack a punch, but they are still not that expensive to have them block enemy stuff and keep coming back. I'd also recommend GG brought with Morghasts near a general with ancient strategist for aggressive play. Buffed with a vampire each morghast will attack 5 with halberds with 3d6 charge re-rolled in case of fail. Lastly, I am having success fielding some cairn wraiths, around 2 in 1k or 1500 points. They can go with your smaller units and can babysit objectives with 10-20 skellos and in case some pesky 5 man objective grabber enemy squad will come for said objective the cairn wraith can dish out some (mortal) wounds and survives for a long time with 4+/6++ while also granting skellos that deathless minions. They can also take over in case your general dies. So these are my experiences from the 'not-so-many-games-I-have-played-so-far' and I am kind of a beginner as well. My meta is (campaign): Ironsunz,PE, and Gitz ps.: Gravesite placement - it can make or break your games. Quite diffiult to learn and to do it right and can counterplayed if done wrong.
  18. Then in this case rend modifier becomes "-" so the skellos gets +1 save due to the shields. edit: It says 'you must ignore modifiers (positive or negative) when making save rolls for the unit. In this case: I don't know. Shield would be a positive modifier I guess, so it's gonna be 6+?
  19. What do you think, are we going to get some updated in the new campaign book? I am interested to see what Arkhan and Nagash is doing, now that they are at the head of their new OBR armies. It would be nice to see that for example the vampires have been directed deep into enemy territory to block reinforcements and supplies from Archaon at the allpoints (Legion of night comes to mind) . Also interested to see what happened to legion of sacrament now, that Arkhan has null myriad. In relation to the thread title - I can defo see we might get a new book this year - our erratas haven't been updated, they even left the dates (months) untouched. Another thing is that with the mortal realms magazine, the NH part will get a mortis engine at some point - meaning they might revise the warscroll for it to be nighthaunt as well. This can come in the form of a new book perhaps?
  20. Hmm that's interesting, I have though that with any kind of summoning - you can place the models but you have to destroy which don't fit. I know its specifically mentioned in the unquiet dead ability but not with the Endless legions one.
  21. The problem is that we have the same warscrolls for both OBR and LoN. OBR, fine argument valid, but in LoN, there are not so many heavy hitters as morghast so they are definitely filling a spot, especially within GhoN where they do 4 attacks. You can also add +1 A with a vampire so thats 10 Attacks from 2 morghasts which is nice. Also ,there is no other unit in LoN which charges 3D6.
