  1. Yeah, doesn't cover Warcry unfortunately. @stekr I found the Iron Golem sizes as well: The Legionaries and the and Armator are on 28.5mm, the Ogor Breacher is 40mm, everything else is 32mm.
  2. If you can, I haven't seen it - the AoS base size document doesn't say anything about Warcry units. Assuming you mean the original Warcry starter set, I don't know about the Iron Golem, but I have Untamed Beasts right here, and their bases are as follows: Plains Runner: 25mm Preytaker: 28.5mm Heart-Eater, Beastspeaker and First Fang: 32mm Rocktusk Prowler: 40mm
  3. I like the dragon ogor kit, I think it's a long way down the list of things that need revamping. It might be nice to see another kind of dragon ogor, so that a whole thunderscorn army is more of a reasonable proposition? Ungors are prettymuch fine as well, but the current gors are a poorly thought out retool of an ancient kit and they neither cast up nor go together well. Bestigors in more than one pose would be welcome, but that's unlikely given that they're more recent. The things that are really suffering are beastlords (the resin model is smaller than a bestigor), chariots, centigors (these look nice for their age, but they're hell to assemble and they have exactly one pose) and of course the razorgor which nobody liked even when it was new. New chaos spawn would be nice, too.
  4. *stomping a rusty, muddy boot onto the perfumed marble bounds of this Slaaneshi thread* Not to derail anything here, but since someone mentioned the character of the Death Guard, it's worth noting that they're incredibly varied once you get past the shallow caricatures you tend to see when they crop up as jobbers in other people's storylines. Not only do all seven of the legion's companies have different outlooks and tendencies, there's a tremendous range of attitudes, theologies, philosophies and delusions among the ranks. The answer to "why would anyone want to be a plaguemarine" is simple in a lot of cases - they didn't, they were transformed by the destroyer plague. Some of them have been driven mad by what they've become, while others see it as the ultimate proof of their legendary endurance. Some of them take great pride in Nurgle's blessing and lean hard into his cult, seeing him as a benevolent god and themselves as his altruistic messengers. Others are bitter about their transformed state and want to see everything else laid as low as they are. Still others are simply morose and depressive, resigned to their existence and the decay of everything in the galaxy - some of these believe that by visiting destruction on other worlds, they're helping others to accept the inevitable and freeing them from the falsehood of hope. Some don't care much about the galaxy at all any more and are completely obsessed with Nurgle's alchemical sciences and numerological arts. There's really a lot going on with the legion, and it reflects Nurgle factions in general. Attitudes to the Long War and to their father Mortarion are further divergences, and these can be severe enough that at least two warbands have split from the legion entirely. Of course, people are drawn into Nurgle's worship all kinds of ways, and many serve him willingly. Both the 41st millennium and the Mortal Realms are harsh places, and a loving deity who cares for the lest of his servants has a powerful draw - even if his love manifests in unhealthy ways. The downtrodden and the desperate, who exist in the billions in the Emperor's galaxy, often suffer famine and disease already; propitiating the Lord of Decay offers them tangible relief from their woes which the distant Emperor never could, and perhaps the power to harness their miseries as vengeful weapons against their oppressors. Nurgle also promises opportunities for immortality and rebirth in his garden, albeit in ways that most would consider horrifying. Of course, if you grew up on Eliathada or in certain parts of Ghyran, Nurgle is probably the only god you know, and all this is perfectly normal to you. I highly, highly recommend reading The Lords of Silence, which is the only Black Library novel so far to give the Death Guard a fair shake. Even if you're not a XIV legion enthusiast, it's a very good look at servants of Nurgle generally. A very close-up look, if that's something you want.
  5. I hope there's a wat of adding bats to FEC armies, especially in light of the Grymwatch models.
  6. Maybe they're the same model, and that's a staff top, and they're finally giving chaos sorcerers their horse option back?
  7. Those are the coolest looking Melusai I've ever seen. Please paint more.
  8. I'm starting to think I should invest in the Soulbound books for the art and lore even if I'll never be able to get a group together to play it.
  9. GW's approach to digital products is extremely frustrating, inconsistent and impossible to understand. Currently it's impossible to buy ebooks for 40k and Warcry, but AoS is still supported both through the app (which isn't great) and in epub format (the fixed width epub books are extremely good and I buy all my AoS books this way). 40k ebooks ARE being produced, but you can only get them by buying hardback books and unlocking the digital versions with a code in the 40k app, which is the worst possible way to handle digital products and I don't think anyone likes it. I dislike it enough that I've stopped buying 40k books, so I really hope they don't try to implement this system for AoS. I was very disappointed when there were no digital editions of the Warcry Grand Alliance books and the new Tome of Champions. Pretty sure this means they've dropped all digital support for the game. If you email customer support about any of these subjects they will tell you that they don't know. Anyway, at the moment you're good if you want AoS ebooks for android devices, but that's about all.
  10. I can't agree. If you look at the Ulfenwatch skeletons, all their details are aligned along the same plane - there's a flatness to their design that's typical of miniatures that share a sprue with many others. Their cloth, weapons and shields all "line up". They're probably one or two piece models. There's nothing wrong with this, of course. The Soulblight skeletons, on the other hand, have details which go in a lot more directions. They're more three dimensional, which is almost certainly a result of being made of more components arranged differently on the sprues. It looks like the difference between an ETB set and a full multipart kit, to me - a little bit like the Acolytes from the Silver Tower box vs the ones in the AoS kit. Both kinds of skeleton sharing the same wargear design is an excellent decision though.
  11. That is kind of a weird face, but that head is optional and she looks great with a helmet.
  12. @Rodiger Impressive work with Space Crusade! @Pagan A battle wizard is the ideal wizard solution, I'll get to work on one. Still slowly working on this project. I have a lightbox on order, so I'll be able to take pictures as the skaven and goblins get painted - the former are built and will be pulling double duty as a Warcry warband - and I'm testing out some methods of painting stone for the doorways. Those I plan to do in batches in a couple of different colours. The upcoming release of Cursed City might well have solved the bat problem, depending on the size of the bats in the set. If they can be borrowed they'll be ideal. There's an excellent Aelf in there too. Still short of spiders that will fit on a 25mm round base, unfortunately.
  13. The BSF heroes are all on the same sprue, they will never be released separately. Same thing with the adversaries (sadly, since those beautiful traitor guardsmen are on that sprue). Obsidius is on a sprue of his own, though. Likewise, the cultists in Escalation are a conveniently reboxable set. I really want to see what the Cursed City models are set up like... we have to hope for as many individual sprues as possible.
  14. You need to hope they make more than the initial wave. The really in-demand stuff can sell out by the time you refresh the webstore. Since they have a whole website for Cursed City, they probably will. I imagine they plan to keep selling it for quite a while, or at least to make it available as a made-to-order product like they did with Indomitus. I certainly hope so anyway.
  15. The Crimson Court will, at least, make fantastic Vampire Lord models regardless of how their warscroll pans out.
  16. Can someone explain what "NPE" is in this context because otherwise it looks like there's 5 pages of people arguing about patent law in the rumour thread every time there's a Lumineth update.
  17. I'm not sold on this new vampire - there's something cartoonish about her stylization that I don't like. It might just be her hairdo, though. Different hair and maybe different colours could make a huge difference.
  18. That makes the Helcourt £55 I think? It's £47.50 for the regent and the horrors separately.
  19. I would very much like a night mode.
  20. If we could have some kind of guideline against quoting whole sets of pictures to reply to them, that would make navigating the site much nicer. I know this happens because people are excited to comment on things, but it quadruples the amount of scrolling needed.
  21. It's extremely rare for "boxed game" characters and units to have any real impact on AoS itself, right? A lot of the time they're just "you can use this mini in AoS as well, if you want to" and in the worst cases they're temporary inclusions that disappear again once the game in question cycles out. Might be best to plan a good "counts-as" AoS use for the heroes, and treat any useful rules as a nice surprise. That said, I like Octren's hex spell. Depending on what else he does and how many points he is, I could absolutely see him getting time in the sun. (metaphorically - I don't imagine he likes the sun much)
  22. Excellent work on his hairy arms. Very nostalgic seeing that sculpt again after all these years! I also really like your barbarian - he's a reaver from the Underworlds warband, right? The D2 look suits him.
  23. I believe all you should need is Sentinels of Order and the Core Rulebook. You'll need Catacombs if you want to fight underground battles using the expanded rules in that set. The Battleplan Cards are very convenient but not strictly essential - same goes for the tokens etc in the scenery and warband boxes.
  24. @Kyriakin hey now, the only problem with the vortex beast is that terrible little postage stamp of a square base they stuck it on, and the varghulf's only sin is being stuck in finecast. 😉 Not that I'm not tempted to replace mine with a varkskyr...
  25. If that's the centaur guy's shield from the rumour engine then he is very large, whether he's a Kurnothi or not.
