  1. I stopped buying 40k books because of this. I likewise do my reading on my tablet and I mainly buy books for lore, art and painting/modelling inspiration. Definitely not buying hardbacks to unlock just the parts I don't need in the app. The one codex I did buy this edition was so light on lore content anyway it made me really glad I had the 8E books for my factions. Hopefully battletomes don't go the same way - though we should be fine if the Soulblight book was written with 3E in mind.
  2. That seems extremely clear. Your old content stays on the old app. If you want to retain access to books you bought in the old app, you have to keep it installed. No transfer. Is that a terrible way to go about it? Why, yes it is.
  3. I like the digital lore vault, although I already have every WD from 2019 in epub form, so I'm only in for the other features. Will future issues be added here at some point? Will there be a digital subscription feature as an add-on to WH+? That would make sense of the disappearance of digital issues of the magazine, at least (WH+ was supposed to launch this month, and this month's magazine is physical-only...) We could be left with just a digital archive of 2020's magazine issues and only print copies of future ones, though. Worst of both worlds. Since they won't tell us, we just have to wait and see. Battle reports sound like a fun extra, I like the ones they put up on the Twitch channel - at least, I do if I have time to watch them. Same thing goes for the lore videos really. These could be anything from genuinely interesting glimpses at the worldbuilding of Warhammer to being told it's very hot in the realm of fire with some swooshy effects in post. The models: I'm getting that Ironjaw one way or another. Having to subscribe for a whole year before you get your miniature dampens the hype a bit, but I wonder if we'll be able to buy them sooner than that. That'd be a crafty move. I'd fall for it. We need to brace ourselves for the fact that the app is going to suck like a balewind vortex. The 40k app is barely useable, the old AoS app was terrible for books compared to just buying fixed-width epubs for your reader apps of choice, and I don't see any way GW will have learned or contracted their way to a good app in the time since they launched the 40k one and forced people to use it by holding digital codex content hostage on it. Painting videos: Really looking forward to this. I'm going to subscribe primarily to check these out. Edit: The lore sections of out-of-date campaign books being added to the vault is EXCELLENT. I've been wanting a way to get that stuff for years.
  4. Just went to get the digital edition of White Dwarf 465 and realised it doesn't exist. Did they announce they were dropping digital editions anywhere? Looks like you buy the physical copy or you risk having a permanent hole in your series of flashpoint articles when it becomes unavailable. Maybe this is something else they're going to roll into Warhammer+ when it launches, but I'm very unhappy about it at present. I absolutely do not want to have to buy issues in a different format to avoid missing articles, with no guarantee of a return to digital support in the future. This sucks.
  5. Didn't have to wait the full hour. Just got it, everything was still in stock on the UK webstore. Good luck!
  6. In an hour-long queue... guess I'll have to see how lucky I am. I have to say I don't like the lack of a digital edition for the new core book, I hope they aren't moving AoS to a hardback-only model like WH40k.
  7. It's sisters (and the crab) by the looks of it.
  8. Here's hoping for models! I love the gnashtooth and I'd really like to see more. I can't wait to get hold of some swamp-orruks, I'll be reinforcing my Ironjaw warband with these. I hope we don't have to wait long for Warcry rules, speaking of warbands...
  9. "This book, the next narrative supplement in the ongoing Warhammer Age of Sigmar saga, will be available as both a regular hardback and a deluxe Limited Edition release, featuring gilt page edges, exclusive cover artwork, and more." ...are they not releasing this in ebook form? I hope this is just an omission in the writeup because I have the first two BRs as epubs and I don't want to have to switch format halfway through.y I assume they ARE because of the error people got with the BR Teclis cover, but...
  10. I believe the rule about ending your move on terrain that your friend is thinking of is a WH40k rule from a previous edition. It's definitely a rule that existed in a GW tabletop game at some point, but it's not Age of Sigmar (and I don't believe it's anything currently in print).
  11. I always want to type a "B" in "SGL" and I have to remind myself that "Soulblight" is one word so it's not really right to initialize it that way. "SBGL" feels better though. It has a dark power, an evil lure.
  12. It's almost certainly better that they wait for the SGL battletome than release LoN warscrolls for them which could be wildly underpowered or mechanically incompatible when the book is out.
  13. Neither is my freshly painted ghoul, but I don't really rate his common sense or his chances in a duel very highly.

This is fantastic. Mind if I ask for your colour recipes for this dark wood and bark?
  15. Oh WOW the alternative builds for them look even better. He looks fantastic with the sword, and her hat is top-notch. I need these minis.
  16. Those look like absolutely stunning models. I wonder if CoS players or WH40k Inquisition enthusiasts are more excited about them?
  17. I don't know how much bigger they are as opposed to just way more upright. The old VC range are all totally hunched over. It actually looks like they reduced the "heroic-scale" overscaling on the hands, which is nice.
  18. I like it as well, having a stripped-down version I can take to my friend's board game nights (when those are possible again) is pretty appealing.
  19. Yeah, it's two problems. One is that GW are low on a lot of things, and the other is that getting rattlecans into or out of the UK is very difficult now. This makes Vallejo spray primers impossible to get here, and it's causing all kinds of supply problems with GW primers in Europe. Unless you need Grey Seer or Wraithbone, you might be best to switch manufacturers.
  20. @The Red King that's an excellent foe-render, where's his shield from?
  21. Maybe they're using "no longer available" as a temporary measure, like the Forge World webstore. Fingers crossed.
  22. Oh, so it's gone. So it is limited, and we should brace for paying gouged prices or not getting it at all.
  23. Oh no, the heroes are all on one sprue? That's sad news. Getting multiples of them will be difficult and expensive. Is it "no longer available" or just out of stock? Can you get email notifications for when it's back?
  24. You know what they say about the road to disappointment... As for rat swarms, I'm guessing they don't want to tread on the toes of the skaven with those. We might see rats sculpted in a similar style in a future skaven release, which would be fantastic.
