  1. Here is a solution that may work. Since AoS doesn't have a toughness system one could pass attacks after the wounding step. So here is my proposal, heros are fully targetable, but after hit and wound before save roles, eligible heros can pass these wound onto a unit within 3" on a role of 2+.
  2. I think a few dedicated sniper units would make more sense than dedicated bodyguard units added to every army.
  3. I will argue that is kind of the point. Why have buff hero's if they can easily be picked off? Its also worth mentioning than not all armies have the ranged fire power to pick off heros from a distance, giving some armies a unique advantage.
  4. On top of getting the Underworlds warband we also received the Herdstone and our own set of endless spells. I don't think they would make that kind of investment if they planed on squating the army.
  5. Most of my sheep are white, but I do have some black sheep. Also proof that GW hasn't completely abandoned us. That's not to say that I wasn't upset by Kragnos, but I really don't think we are getting squatted either.
  6. Chaos is more than just the big 4. Many countless lesser being inhabit the realm of Chaos. Korn, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh just appear to be the largest domains with Chaos. Other such entities such as the Great Horned Rat also exist in the realm of Chaos. Then there are the beastmen who are not direct products of any of the Chaos Gods but still have origins tied to chaos itself. Hell many beastmen see the Chaos Gods as a mockery of what true Chaos should actually be.
  7. Quite the opposite actually. Since the Khemist would be cheaper than the guns you would be giving extra shots to, the more Khemist you had the great the return on your points investment.
  8. My theory is that we will get a new human faction sometime in the future. Similar to Lumineth It will have its own esthetic but will have units that are one to one with the current existing human faction units currently in Cities of Sigmar. Eventually they will do the same for the Wood Elves, Dark Elves, and Dwarves. I don't think all of these will be full new armies. Some could be new units given to existing armies. Think of a new unit for Kharadron Overlords that is basically Longbeards. Once this is far enough along they will drop the old model profiles and replace them with there modern equivalents in Cities of Sigmar. This way old units can be used as count as models, but this is just my theory, also it would take at least a few years.
  9. Mortal wounds are a fine and I dare say necessary mechanic. Not stated are all the instances where mortal wounds are used as a cost or consequence for some abilities. To use Beast of Chaos as an example, self inflict mortal wounds are used to generate point for their summoning mechanic. Another example would be an artifact that gives the wielder +2 W but as a drawback, rolls of one inflict mortal wounds on the wielder. Edit: Grammar
  10. Just what that dude needs, more Keywords. Chaso, Daemon, Mortal, Tzeentch, Arcanite, Slaves to Darkness, Everchosen, Death, Vampire, Soulblight, Hero, Wizard, Gaunt Summoner, Vampiric Gaunt Summoner
  11. I don't understand why there seems to be so many people who what Kurnothi to be these savage forest dwelling animal men who hate Sylvaneth. We already have that, its called Beast of Chaos. Don't get me wrong I would love to see Kurnothi expanded as either their own force or a branch of Sylvaneth, but I would like them to be their own thing and not just Beast of Chaos but elves and better, because you know they would be.
  12. You don't actually need to buy the 40k app to use it. If you have your codex and enter the code you get access to the digital content for that book. Paying for the App just gets you an army builder and access to all current warscrolls for all the units in the game, not just those in your army. That said the App is kind of terrible to navigate at times, and has some what I could only describe as purposely bad design elements.
  13. One word of advice with Beast of Chaos and allies is to be mindful of the Herdstone. The Herdstone is not their friend and its easy to forget that as you grow use to packing around it.
  14. I don't see them dropping endless spells. That said they may change the lore on them a bit. Currently endless spells are in deed that, endless. After a wizard casts them they just keep going. At the end of a battle if not dispelled they run off and just keep going. Maybe now they fade over time. Alternatively maybe AoS 3 drops and they change how endless spells function and all endless spells can become bound by the caster instead of running amuck.
  15. It's just that slain is nothing more than a game term. While this could and often does mean that the model dies, it really just a catch all for no longer being able to participate in the fight. This rule will mostly never come up, but this to me is just braking a carnal rule of the game.
  16. I will be honest and state that I am coming from a place of mostly ignorance. I do not collect nor have I had the chance to play a game against Lumineth. That said I cant be the only person that has a problem with this am I. Maybe I am being petty, but I have never seen this used before. In both Sigmar and 40k if a model has to be placed but can't be placed it counts as having been slain. Its like the rules writers are trying to pick a fight.
  17. The only thing I am fairly certain about Kragnos is that they aren't Death related. Now watch that be wrong.
  18. On top of what NinthMusketeer already said, this isn't even as bad of a comparison as you initially claim. For starters the Liche Priest can take a free mount. This makes it the faster of the two and gives it additional attack in melee, would still probably prefer the missile attacks but its something of note. As for their spells and abilities I would say that they are on par with one another.
  19. At first I was leaning more toward Kurnothi as well, but the more I looked at the Beastgrave centaur, the more these didn't stack up. The Kurnothi centaur has a very different more cat like tail and antlers instead of horns. On top of that the armor and shield look completely different, the Kurnothi have this very obvious whicker look to them, where this character has ornate metal shields with chains holding them together. Last detail I cant say for certain but the maul doesn't look like it follows the Kurnothi aesthetic. I am not convinced that it is Beast of Chaos either. Everything is just a bit too clean and we don't see any of the usual battle scare on the shield that are present in most Chaos armies and we don't see him wearing a skull around his belt. I also am not completely ruling it out either. We could just be seeing a cleaner part of the shields. Also Tzeentch and Slaanesh are two example of Chaos that don't have the typical Chaos scarring on their weapons and armor. Slaanesh aligned Cetigors seems like a long shot but almost everything seems like a long shot at this point. Heck I wont even rule out the possibility of some kind of new Beast of Destruction faction.
  20. This clearly looks like the shield. This could be related too.
  21. Tournament data does go deeper. You just don't always see it because its hard to fit all that data into a spreadsheet. That is why Petrifex specifically got a targeted nerf in a rules errata. There is more to tournament data than overall placements and win/lose ratios. Any tournament worth its salt will have records of every list that participated. This data isn't always as easy to find or readily available without some digging. That's not to say that looking at the larger picture isn't helpful either. If an army continuously dominate the top 10 or has has a 70%+ win rate, there is probably an issue with it. That is when it warrants a closer look. That is when you have look into the rest of the data. How popular is the army, is there a major difference between the high placing than the lower placing, are they spamming a particular unit, belong to the same sub faction, using the same combo or formation, ect. Tournament data when looked at properly can show you what parts of an army need adjusting.
  22. I completed some Skyfires recently so I thought I would share. For one reason or another I had a lot of fun painting the different discs.
  23. OBR are basically immortal so a training exercise could have both side really go all out. When its all done they could just pick up the pieces and be back to full strength. If you don't like training exercise on the principle of not having enough stakes, one could see it as a duel between generals fighting for Nagash's favor in an upcoming campaign. Winner leads both armies, while the lose becomes his horse or something. Personally mirror matches happen so rarely for me that I revel in the chance one happens. Its great talking with someone who share interest in the same army.
  24. Pretty sure that whenever actions happen at the same time, the player preforming the action determines the order.
