  1. People play them, just not in the tournaments. The gw store has lots more people playing Stormcast
  2. Most people get into the game via starter sets meaning they’d have a Stormcast army (not everyone bothers with trying to sell off stuff) and/or Nighthaunt/Khorne. At least at the gw store level (up to 1000pts) or garage gaming, maybe even clubs, Stormcast are very likely the most played faction, until that person decides to get a different army, but then the cycle starts again with every new person. The same happens with 40K except that a lot more people stick with Space Marines rather than doing something else
  3. My main problem with Bonereapers is the Hekatos removing the need for a hero to babysit them like every other death army requires, they took away deaths biggest weakness and I’m not convinced they are paying for it. Had this been implemented to other armies too I would have no issues with it as it kind of made sense that unit leaders would have some command over their units
  4. My understanding is that he wrote the lore, but someone else wrote the rules. The biggest problem for me is Cities is designed in such a way that it wants you to mix Duardin, Aelves and Humans together but all of the synergies within the book are locked to specific subfactions (Dispossessed or Order Serpentis for example). The rules mean the army doesn’t function how gw wants it to from a lore point of view. I also despise the subtle nerfs that occurred. For example all unit leaders get +1 attack, all banners give +1 bravery etc regardless of which unit it is, this means Dispossessed lost their unique rules like 4+ to ignore spells
  5. As an Ally they wouldn’t get access to the spells even if we had them
  6. If it was an Aelf, I’m sure they’d have no problem burning down the village, even if the aelves actually paid them - the coins are probably tainted by the horrible smell of aelf hands or something
  7. Matt Wards reputation is warranted is it not? Every book he wrote was op compared to every book he didn’t. Phil Kelly, from the books I’ve personally read, are written to match the lore as much as possible, his books have always been fun, nothing stood out as bad or op. Robin Crudance on the other hand, I don’t understand why or how he became 40ks head rules writer after the abomination he wrote that was the 5th edition Tyranids codex (it’s a known fact he’s really into Imperial Guard and tanks, I believe due to a military background, and he openly hated tyranids because in the lore and the game they’d kill his guys. That codex made tyranids basically unplayable for 2 editions because of his bias). This sort of thing is why they stopped publishing the rules writers name in the books, rather than get rid of the bad writers. AoS seems to have like 3 rules writers: the guy who writes fun, balanced rules (Gloomspite Gits), the guy who writes the most op rules possible (Bonereapers, Slaanesh), and the guy who writes the worst rules (Cities Of Sigmar). Due to the above, we don’t know who each of these writers are and I think that’s a shame because I’d like to be able to avoid books written by the 2nd and 3rd guy and only play books from the first (opponents can play whatever they want, I just don’t find those types of books fun). in regards to Broken Realms Teclis. What did people expect, really? Of course Nagash was going to fail, he has to fail or there is no Age Of Sigmar. His plans ever succeeding literally means EVERYTHING dies. Also you can’t ignore the role Mannfred plays in trying to ****** him over as much as possible
  8. What, you don’t go around burning down things when people don’t pay you? What a strange place you must live in 😛 (I’m joking of course) grudges are awesome though
  9. Tournaments are NOT the only way people are playing. More people play and don’t go to tournaments than those that do. I understand that tournaments are the only source for data however, but it is important to remember that isn’t the whole picture
  10. I had Myari Lightcaller cast Dazzling Light: +1 from his owl, +1 from Teclis and +6 from the Twinstones. Rolled double 1s 😂
  11. Until/unless the next GHB changes this due to the events of the Broken Realms saga. Don’t be surprised if Daughters Of Khaine are no longer available as allies for example
  12. In all fairness, due to the larger player base of Stormcast, it’s actually very likely that any ‘reasonable improvements’ would *appear* to throw off the balance (not necessarily that it would, but due to player numbers it might look like the army is ‘stronger’ than it’s supposed to be)
  13. The Stormcast Dias Arcanum is similar to the Balewind, however that one specifically says the caster has a move of 12” and can fly when on it. im inclined to believe until stated otherwise that the Sanctum can’t move, which renders the endless spell not very useful as all the Lumineth wizards who can cast it want to be moving and staying close to other units
  14. If Tyrion is dealing with Slaanesh, then yes that’s a bigger deal to Aelves than Nagash ever will be. It’s no different to the dynamic between Slaanesh/Eldar in 40K, no threat is more important than Slaanesh
  15. I’m seeing a lot of people taking issue with Teclis autocasting spells, which brings me to Nagash: although he doesn’t ‘autocast’ he does have enough buffs that he mostly can’t fail and/or you can’t stop his spells. Why does nobody take issue with him? it’s because of a bias against Aelves that a lot of people seem to have lately
  16. ‘Cellenar/Eltharion should have died’ you mean killing off models not even a year old? That was NEVER going to happen, and suggesting it should shows you have a bias against Lumineth, in my opinion (there’s a lot of hate towards them going around lately and it’s hard to tell) im curious what this means for Nagash and Arkhans models though. Arkhan is more difficult because he’s a dual build kit with Nefarata and Manfred, neither of which are going anywhere anytime soon due to Soulblight Gravelords. That kit is only 2014-2015? I doubt they’ll replace that kit
  17. So I started Lumineth about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Due to my available free time, I decided to buy 1 thing a week rather than my usual of everything I can afford at once. In those 3-4 weeks, I have bought and painted Teclis, Myari Lightcaller and Myaris Purifiers, The Light Of Eltharion, 1x5 Stoneguard and the Endless Spells. Something like 1330pts. I obviously don’t have enough Battleline at the moment, so I’ve just been playing Grand Alliance Order with Fyreslayers (I know, please don’t lynch me 😂) filling out the remaining points and replaced as I get new units. a friend wanted the Piety And Pain box for the Sisters Of Battle so I took the Drukhari half, but that’s now delayed my Lumineth a bit (1 week for that box, and another week because I’m probably going to pick up the codex and a combat patrol box). It will be a while before I pick up any of the new releases as I wanted to ‘complete’ the first wave stuff first. For that I still need 3 Stoneguard, a Stonemage, a Cathallar, 2 Dawnriders, 1 Wardens, 1 Sentinels, 2 Mountain Spirits and The Stoneheart King. I’m definitely leaning towards the Alarith stuff, but my collection will have at least 1 of everything
  18. GW nerfs things based on power more than anything. Savage Strike may have been a ‘NPE’ for some people, but it was nerfed 100% because of the power - in the Fec players turn, they got to attack you 4 times before you got to pick a single unit, usually with Ghoul King on Terrorghiests (Savage Strike general + Feeding Frenzy, second unit + Feeding Frenzy. because at the time Savage Strike happened before either player picks a unit to fight with so didn’t count as an ‘activation’) Petrifex Elite were too strong with the +1 save and +1 rend? Making Mortek Guard way too good defensively AND offensively at the same time while also being undercosted (the Hekatos thing meaning they don’t need heroes babysitting them like other death armies do, I strongly believe Bonereapers aren’t paying for that ability)
  19. These thread should be locked honestly. It does no good whatsoever. It’s purely a thread specifically for people to complain about Lumineth, and anyone who tries to defend them against the hyperbole and exaggerated nonsense going on in here is personally attacked with insults
  20. You don’t get any depravity if the unit is wiped out (because depravity is generated in the battleshock phase, if a unit no longer exists you can’t check for the conditions of earning depravity) Slaanesh doesn’t actually want to kill you, they just want to hurt you a little bit
  21. 1. No, as far as I’m aware, the digital version of AoS battletomes (via the AoS app, can’t confirm other formats) don’t get updated. It seems that (via IBooks at least) any other digital book does get updated but can be a bit slow (up to a month late). They don’t do Enhanced Editions of AoS books because the main feature in those is ‘pop up rules text boxes’ which aren’t relevant to AoS (for example in 40K the faction rules are just listed as a ‘keyword’ on the datasheet and you need to go to a different page to find those rules, enhanced editions let you click/tap on the keyword and a text box comes up with the rule so you don’t have to flip between pages). 2a. Can be a little bit slow to load, depends on your definition I guess. 2b. No I don’t believe so (via AoS app at least) 2c. 100% no you do not. They are separate items and you will need to buy the newer ones to get them. Also note that if you own the older ones you can still access them, but upon release of a new one you can no longer buy the old ones
  22. I’ll just say that in regards to Total Eclipse (have to spend 2cp for command abilities), when it was first previewed I was amongst the complainers, I thought it was overpowered, unfun and quite frankly ridiculous. However, I’m actually fine with it now, as I feel like the fact there’s no ‘interaction’ between your opponents using command points is a pretty serious issue: Stormcast Eternals and Gaverial Surehearts +3” to charge command ability that can stack? There’s no interaction with a unit of 10 Evocators turning up 9” away from you and then getting a guaranteed charge. Idoneth Deepkin getting +3 attacks to each weapon for every command point Volturnos spends? Things like this are a bigger issue than a spell that makes you spend 2cp instead of 1 in my opinion
  23. I’m confused exactly what you’re talking about? you can’t buy White Dwarf magazines or their rules content in the Warhammer Age Of Sigmar app and never have been able to? things like the Jaws Of Mork (squig updates) don’t exist at all in the app for example
  24. In regards to the Bladelords, specifically the Sunmetal Greatsword, I wonder what, if anything, this means for Aileen (Myaris Purifiers) in the new book? her Greatsword matches the Perfect Strike profile, except she gets 2 attacks, hits on 2+, has range 1” and the Sunmetal ‘6s do a mortal wound’ rule Additionally I don’t know if they’ll be very good. The models look less armoured (like Sentinels) so probably have a 5+ save, and since they’re Vanari and not ‘aelementals’ I imagine only 1 wound
  25. Quick question, does the Sanctum endless spell fit around Teclis or is he not allowed to cast it?
