Although, given the loyalty of the Covens to their Sorceress and the Privateers' methods of business, there aren't going to be many of the old Dark Aelves amongst them. Those that are will be under some suspicion as spies and infiltrators. It would make for a good role-playing campaign. I know lore isn't essential to play on the table, but I find it helps with the immersion if things make sense. Sounds good. They'd be fanatically loyal to overcome the suspicion, with an unremitting determination to reclaim their city. That would make for a nice lore to build an army around. From new things I took Drusa battalion which you can also take in Anvilgard, and additional attack it can give to darkshards (I had 20) was quite good but with other opponents 5+ save dragon will have problem to survive. Prayer (I took command trait on general) is also nice - I guess it could be good on executioners or black guards, but I don`t have any. Artifact Traitor's Banner looks like something usefull with 12" bubble of -1 to shooting, but vs Throggoths it wasn`t useful - though it can probably help Drusa if you were inclined to take her. My list wasn`t very competitive I played what I have from older days so it's hard to say. What I would say right now that it can probably be better than Anvilgard as it retains Vitriolic Spray which was main claim to fame of Anvilgard and adds DoK, prayer and banner vs shooting, but that's probably not enough to propel it close to like of Tempest Eye. Aelfric Posted November 9, 2020 Share Posted November 9, 2020 (edited) I'm interested in giving this city a go since I have models available (although in lockdown at mo so not sure when), but I don't think I'll be bothering with Drusa Kraeth and her Battalion. Not only is she a standard Sorceress on Black Dragon, but she is specifically a unique named character so you can't even give her an item. You also have to take a weak command trait if she is your General, although the way they worded this is strange given they'd already made her a unique named character which precludes traits anyway. For a Sorceress who is meant to be "the power behind the scenes", you would think she would at least get the D3 CP trait from Hidden Agendas. The other units are maxed at one each, which will do little for drops and the 160 points, plus a minimum of 490, do not, in my mind, justify the benefits gained. Just another Cities Battalion that seems to miss the mark. If she could take traits and items, I'd be more interested. At least then, you could build a list around her. However, I think it's safe to assume that, as they were given a choice 'serve Morathi or die' many would choose to serve. Loyalist elements likely got killed off or ran and now work in oldschool Anvilgard lists ; ) EDIT: Wait. do I see correctly that Incitement to Murder is not melee only?
