  1. I was thinking about a vanguard list with a lord aquilor general for bonus flavor, but is it me or a imperarant is better ? Yes he is slower, less resilient and doesn't hit as hard but 1 free command per player turn is way, way, way better than one free command per battle round

I'll never understand people who add the point cost of a support unit to another one, like the evocators will just stand there and do nothing else and that their only value is casting empower. Do you also add 140 pts to every khorne unit because of their need of a bloodsecrator ?

  4. I hope people ready to spam stormdrake guards are conscious that they will get a nerf in the next AOS faq because even if GW balance team is very often drunk when they decide point costs there is no way they keep them at 285 pts for a entire year
  5. I think the calculations doesn't really take in account the other thinks vigilors bring on the table, like the bonus to hit for the other units against who they shot as well as an actual melee profile

  8. It's a very "extreme" list. Either your opponent can deal with it (lot of shooting, less drops) and will win or he can't (slow and full melee army like khorne mortal) and end up unable to even fight back
  9. thanks for the correction and my excuses ! unrelated to it, what do people think of Vanari Bladelord and Urakhan windriders ? Are they okay to take in a mid-tier list or too weak to be used outside a very very very friendly game ?

  11. Stormcast heroes look incredibly cool yet the lame freeguild captain on foot hit harder than any of them. Heck compare the knight questor to the grimwrath berserker and it's so sad it become funnny. Stardrake is a enormous armored dragon yet ended up with 7 attacks -1/d3 and is hilariously pillow fisted for its cost even if all stars aligns on his special attacks (it's basically a very good anvil and that's all) Stormcast are full of cool models with lame offensive profiles so i can totally expect these badass dragon riders being outpaced by zombies damage wise.
  12. They still can't sit on it and these are quite big pieces. A big base will have some trouble to land where it want if there is an axe around
  13. I think the new axe need us to take in account it's now on a roll of 4+rr to cast, which is much easier and that it doesn't disappear by itself so we can now "fire and forget" with it. I'll keep it even if only because it's a fantastic piece of board control

  15. Regarding invocations : do they work like endless spells, aka activate in each hero phase, or only in "our" hero phase ? The rules say they work like endless spell but doesn't say anything about their activation process, it's not very clear for me.

  20. I use them a lot and high armor isn't a problem if the ennemy unit have 5 models or more. You just fish for sixes ( reroll everything that isn't a 6 because they reroll isn't limited to failed hit and you don't have to reroll EVERYTHING ) and your unit suddenly casually throw around 10 mw every time. If they attack in the hero phase ( before sequitors or morteks rerol their saves) it's a carnage. They tear trough everything that isn't a well armored monster, basically 95% of the game . Mine roll over mortreks and sequitor with hilarious ease I play 3x5 in slaughterborn and they are one of the most consistent blender of the game. Evocators wish they were as good. The only time they doesn't pay back twice or thrice their cost is when they are shot from afar. If they had rend it would be really insane
  21. It say before the first round begins, but not before the roll-off or anything like that. So i'd go for the most simple option : after the roll is decided, but before any other action.
  22. Il would swap the items. The -3 rend weapon on the demon prince claws attacks will make a incredible killing machine, and the unmodifiable save for the chaos lord will make him very very very VERY hard to shift.

  24. From my experience, the psychological impact of it as well as the huge blocking potential make him incredible. Even experienced players who know what i can/will do start to hesitate and do mistakes, because you really don't want to roll this dreaded 8 Even if, to be fair, all of our judgments are very good.
