  1. However I have trust that IF they intend Warcry to be the AOS skirmish game GW must know that staying in chaos territory won’t last long. And how could it? When they are at the same time doing huge effort to create stormcast players out of every boy and girl old who is old enough to put an easy to build kit together. I find it hard to believe that No one working on this cannot not see this. After all I believe the product came as a response to those of us who were begging for a serious skirmish game. But I do belive that Warcry will be the pilot takin us to the all points for while and asuming it has some sort of succes, the game can expand to anywhere thus opening up to more factions. Of course there is also the possibility that GW intend Warcry to be nothing more than Gorechosen. A entertaining one off game that is great fun for a small period of time and then fades out.
  2. Well if the while point with warcry is that you control a bunch of would be warriors thats going through hell to become Archaons BFF, wouldn’t that mean that they lore wise are too weak to join a chaos army yet?
  3. Great rules!? Clearly sir you cannot be talkin about Gorkamorka. It sure is fun but that rulebook was a grade A mess. The game was dropped in 1999 I believe, and still today you can find a ton of forums asking new questions the rules never adressed. Even if you do somehow find a way through the maze of puncline jokes and well hidden but overly complicated examples that is Da Roolz the game is so very unbalanced. In fact, not too long ago I actually accomplished taking out my opponents mob before his first turn, all due to the mayhem created by a single Rokkit Launcha missile. God I love Gorkamorka... Anyway I realize your point was something entirely else, so I will get off my high horse now and support your point instead😉
  4. This exactly! I found out that if I can go on with only 4-5 hours of sleep a few nights a week I might actually get some painting done. I mean my boys are 1,5 and 3,5 years old so not long ago 4 hours of sleep was a luxury anyway.
  5. This Warcry reveal looks awesome im all in so far. Necromunda is a great game if they somehow translated that to AOS, that oughts be interesting. But does this mean that there will be no more new info at GAMA?
  6. It looks like the new scenery will fir in qith the azyrite ruins. Thats awesome. Maybe now we will begin to be able to really construct some interesting buildings beyond simple ruins. This game sure looks interesting.
  7. Oh thats easy.. Sigmar regret building Stormcasts. So he remealts them into nice golden and pointy hats for chaos to wear.. “Noo Siggy?” the chaos gods will go. “You shouldn’t have done that, its way too much and we didn’t even bring something for you” and so he will have his next regret cause out of pure azyr dissapointment he regrets to have trusted a big bully organization like Games W... I mean the Chaos Gods, and he will go to celestialtgacommunity.com and let all of the other gods know exactly how dissapointed he is. Now if they only had a sad sigmar emoji..
  8. This I found actually helped me return. Once in a while a hit the wall and needed to paint something else of different colours and style. So I did a unit or a few minis depending on what it was and then it always send me right back to the Nighthaunts.
  9. Oh.. yeah now I see it.. Also for those of you asking for pictures: I will post some pictures however I suck at it so it will take a while. FYI: I have painted a Nighhaunt army and I began when AOS2 was released. So 8-9 month untill now. Next up is 40 Chainrasps and assuming I didn’t drown myself in a bottle of Nighthaunt Gloom to escape the emptiness my prize for enduring the rasps is Lady Olyender. Then Kurdoss and a few heroes and finally a Covernthrone which is gonna need a little conversions to make it more ghosty.
  10. 50 A WEEK?! I managed to do two units of 10 in 14 days and I wasreally proud that I was able to in that short amount of time. My goal now is to reach about 3400pts with that same army within the anneversery day of AOS 2. Then the entire army will be done and though I will slowly contine painting on my Nurgle army I believe at the moment that I am done batchpaimtimg and after the final points I will paint only BLood Bowl teams, Skirmish crews and the like.
  11. updated September 2020: Please note that this originl post is more than 18 month old but as I expand my Death armies, add stuff to the Nighthaunts and build Shyish stuff, its ll added here. So last saturday about 5 in the afternoon I did it I finally reached a fully painted 2000pt army. I gotta say this was a personal goal I have been wanting to do ever since I was a teenager and now 15-20 years later I finally did it. Specially during my teen years but also as an adult have I started painting at least 10 different armies, but until now I have never completed one not even close. So to be honest I kinda expected a crowd giving me a standing ovation, maybe a small brassband playing: ‘we are the champions’ while someone important held a speach for me but non of that happend. Though my wife to be gave me a: “oh thats nice”, when I ran screaming with my t-shirt over my head and victory signs in the air in circles in our livingroom celebrating like some famous athtlete who just won the superbowlchampionsleaguesomethingsomething. Anyway so while I wait for Nike to contact me on some sponsor deals I thought it would be fun to hear from those of you who like me are grown ups with kids/jobs/lives that allows for very little time to paint, how long does it take you to paint an army, how do you fight the evergrowing feeling of hopelessness when batchpainting large units? Whats the fastest you have painting for a descent result? and serioulsly Nike Ive already got the slogan for you. ’You can paint it’ TM. 😉
  12. Well if theu actually did reveal some new quest thing I would be one happy camper. Loved Silver tower and Hammerhal but making your own quests is a very complicated tasks with no mapeditors or much to get you on the way so the game tend to die out once your have completed the main story. A shame cause it could have been a really great sandbox experience whether you wanted to use a gamemaster or go co-op.
  13. I understand why they are doing this but still it feels a bit like. SONY: ”So we has some exciting news for you?” US: what? SONY: Microsoft is making a new Xbox! ...🤨 But as I have said before I love these revealshows however I honestly expect nothing.
  14. But on a more non derailing note. I have had succes with the following when it comes to avoid or deflate frustrating moments. 1. Be prepared: before the game begins be sure to agree on the local rules. Like: when is a dice is inconclussive? When is it not ok to change a sudden action? Example. I just started moving my unit 0-1” and then I remember some stuff that I should have done at the start of the movement phase, is it ok to go back? Personally I always inform my opponent that when I ask for them to explain some of their units abilities I might still want to check the warscrollcard after hearing the explanation. This has nothing to do with not trusting my opponent however if my opponent is unaware about this that might look bad and will often increase any possible frustration. Clearing all these silly little details before a game really tend to give a more positive experience. 2. Snap out of it: boardgames/wargames tend to be a long intense ordeal and one can get rather tunnelsighted in the heat of the moment. Step away from the game should things get to tense. Take a few minutes to crack jokes, share lore, painting tips or whatever makes it more than just you vs me. Carefull not to taunt though. 3. Make the experince more than a game. For me this is about playing with models I have just finished painting, not allowing them to see action before they get some colours. So while I am getting torn to bits at least I get to enjoy a cool looking army and awesome scenery, maybe I even get to try a few new tricks with the latest addition to the army despite being bruttally slaughtered. I think that AOS has to be bigger than I get to win/loose. If not, I might as well play cards instead. 4. Change of scene: In my local group we hit a wall a while back since the hierachy seemed to be established with little to no surprises in winners or looses. So at some point we started playing narrative games and it turned out to be the exact ‘change’ we needed at the moment. Now you do not have to go ‘all in’ like we kinda did, writing journals and battle reports. But beside being great fun narrative allowed for some really interesting armylists and offered a chance to field some of those models that never gets used. At one point one of our players in the final moments of a game even gave the victory to his opponent just because he really wanted to see his enemies last desperate plague priest fleeing off table at the klimax of that narrative. Keep in mind that this was a guy who was and is the first to be frustrated during all matched games. We still prefer matched play but also happends to go narrative every once in a while.
  15. - Friends gone? i’ll get a box of 10 new multipart friends. - Fired from the job? No problem just start up painting a new army and you won’t have time for work anyway. - Wife gone? Buy Allarielle, she won’t be very talkstive but she will give you that familiar dead stare you was used to getting from spending all of your savings on problemsolving soldiers.
  16. Yeah and the Nighthaunt endless spells look great but really suck on the battlefield especislly compared to some of the new ones. The moral is.. being a first mover isn’t really always the best thing..
  17. Yeah.. not much of a bestseller in that part of her story.. I wonder if GW realise how unattractive nighthaunts are on the competitive scene and if we can expect an overhaul in the next GHB or if this state is stuck with us for years to come?
  18. So does anyone know if there is any novelles or such about or including Lady Olyender? She appear to have an interesting story and would love to know her the same way we know about the other mortachs. Also that whole thing about being married in the afterlife, how about that?!
  19. Welcome to AOS guys. Hope you stay for the long run🙂 Every year since 2016 about junu/july GW release a new rule/points tweak book called generals handbook (ghb). Much anticipated every year as it usually fix whatever rule loop holes were discovered and taken advantage of during that year. So the ghb doesn’t usually make changes to the core rules yet some factions find themself in a new position as one unit might have been weakened (called nerfed) and another Made stronger (buffed). Udually however it a matter of points being tweaked more than anything else. beside point ‘fixes’ the GHB usually has lots of exciting new ways and battleplans to play. In the world of gaming the term buff, nerf and debuff is used a lot. It goes something like this: - Buff: something or action that makes a unit (or whatever) stronger like a +1 to hit. nerf: an offical act that made my unit (or whatever) weaker. debuff: an act made by one player to weaken his opponenets (whatever). Say enemy units within 6” of a nighthaunt units has their bravery lowered by -1 one. Thus they are debuffed.
  20. Bump up to reapers? Noo if they do this all we got left is chainrasp horde armies. The NH tome is an enigma to me as I have said before. - Why can’t we debuff bravery?(they’re ghosts for crying out loud). - Why does Hexwraiths cost the same as Blightkings? - Why is everything wholly within and at a very short distance? - How come we only make mortal wounds or buffs on unmodified hits and wounds? (Lord Executioner is one of the coolest looking models, and yet he is close to useless). - Why don’t we have a piece of scenery since this is the first army of AOS 2? - Why is our Mortach such a poor choice as a general? Im not saying that all of these points should be adressed but some of them sure need to.
  21. Bravery debuffs would make banshees a very effective hero choice too. Delete ‘wholly’ within or at least increase the range. I have a really hard time getting any buffs or resurections on even relatively small units. I feel like we are so close to being strong yet incredibilly weak. However I remain loyal to NH through the temptations og going LoN. In fact I want to a tournement as a guest recently and there were a ton of death armies that were based on Nighthaunt units though they were LoN armies.
  22. So heres to hoping for a ghb19 where Beasts of Nurgle makes sense to field. Lately I have been running them a few times and it really doesn’t make sense for anything other than narrative games. But what would it take for you lot to actually consider putting them in your lists? - point deduction? - beasts become battleline? - changed stat or abilities? - Nurgles Menagerie to reduce points? There was a brief moment where the accidic slimetrail inflicted D3 mortal wounds on a roll of 4+ Per model in the unit. That sure would be nice to have back, but what would it be worth in points? Would that be enough or are these beatiful models bound to be stuck in narrative games...
  23. So glad to hear as I am very sceptical of Hexwraith and is currently painting up 10 of them. At first I disliked the model but gotta say that they are growing on me, so if it turns out they aren’t to shabby on the field too, then I guess im one happy Casper.
  24. Running scythes.. However I have yet to really try it out as I finished painting it a week back. the horses come as a model with 2 half horses on each sprue. They are attached on a string of ghostly energy. My guess is that you could pretty easily cut them off that string however it would require a bit of greenstuff and modeling to make it look cool. But may I ask for what you gonna use the most expensive ghost ponies that you can buy? Sure the dreadblade horses or even hexwraith aren’t better?
