  2. Pretty much a dead faction now imho (lol puns). Top tier players crushing new/casual players at warhammer world or elsewhere will always throw up skewed results, but if you want to go to an event and be able to beat anybody in your way, LoN are not “it” anymore. They just have nothing going for them in the current metagame. Nagash changes were bad, but bearable - just play something else. Grimghast points change was ham fisted and shows a lack of understanding of why they were good. 10 points - maybe. 20 is a joke. Arkhan, Dire Wolf and Necromancer points changes were highly unnecessary. CP buying changes hit us very hard especially since the Nagash/Arkhan/Necro changes also hit our only playable battalions. I dont see a real competitive list out of LoN anymore. Grave Guard change is a joke (still the same points as hearthguard berserkers? Ok), Blood Knight change is still not enough especially considering their lack of supporting models. We’re tier 2, maybe. Probably more like tier 3 now.

  6. It really doesnt matter what the app says, the app can be wrong. Until there is a specific FAQ, battalions can't be used in LoG. Which might well be a good thing, as battalions being legal would make the NH *absolutely* pointless instead of just mostly pointless in the face of LoG
  7. Figured you guys might be interested in this (sorry for the copypaste) ... 10. Also, all the named character boxes that arent actually named characters, and the unique bladegheists that is actually... just a bladegheist. Yeah, distinctly got this feeling too, very weird and feels like they were just guys that didn't make it into what could have been a great book.
  11. Simple really - most armies rely on inspiring presence to not have their horde units die, and AoS is still ultimately a horde meta. Removing that ability is powerful. And it's a way of interacting with hordes that is not common, so people dont really have a defense against it. Battlebrew needs the Wyches to have gone first. Herdstone has a short range. Etc. But undoubtedly that is a downside, of course. The reason I dont like the battalion personally is that I think it locks you in to suboptimal units, but as a caveat, suboptimal doesnt mean not powerful. Both Myrmourns and Harridans are great units.
  12. Harridans are pretty much just worse Bladegheists, so they get ignored (and rightfully so, their debuff needed to affect 1 higher bravery since power creep has made most things 7 now), but they are still great. With the battalion though you're not making a subpar choice since its the only choice! They're not being broadcast, it's being covered on instagram.
  13. Oh yeah the VL is great too I both hate and love Ben's list. Shrieker Host is exceedingly powerful, but I think the list matches up poorly against the top end of the meta - Stormcast, Eels, Death and Sylvaneth. Ben clearly doesn't think so, though, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how he gets on with this at masters (not the results, but how his games actually go, you can go 6-0 with a list and know it was luck or 0-6 with a list and still feel it's great).
  14. I can’t remember if I gave a top x specifically, but in a nutshell my top leaders are the GoS (both), KoS, and Reikenor depending what your army is doing. Spirit Torment is also good and Arkhan is a great ally too.
  15. Is this guy still banging this drum 130 pages of replies in I've never said "git gud" to anyone in my life but damn if it doesn't seem applicable here
  16. Lots of deep insights into how to win with Stormcast here by Chrimbobo winner Gary Percival! Not just lists, also some very important ways in which the list has to be utilised to get the most out of it and why "gavbomb" is a highly underrepresented top tier list. http://podcast.justplaygames.uk/chrimbobo-winner-interview-gary-percivals-stormcast-eternals
  17. LoN are literally nothing to do with Nighthaunt. It's off topic. To be "tier 1", Nighthaunt needed: -Better and/or cheaper characters -At least one monster character that could take advantage of artefacts -Better battalions -A mechanic that wasn't as spiky (on an 7+ fight immediately instead of in the fight phase, would have been way better than 10+ fight twice) But all of that said, Nighthaunt are not at all bad. This reminds me of the Stormcast thread that's been going for a while in the Order forum; a lot of complaints, not a lot of practice or problem solving. Nighthaunt are perfectly capable of winning plenty of games, Nighthaunt are perfectly capable of placing at events. Not every list can be Tier 1, but it doesnt mean other armies need to be nerfed. At this point, some key characters coming down a few points could easily put Nighthaunt into a really great space. They're *always* going to be a gamblers army to some extent, but that's the way they've been written. Practice guys. Play games. Try lists, solve your problems, take on the meta. Don't be sad on a forum. The army is good.
  18. I dont normally look at this section of the forum, but I just saw "A Kingdom of Isolation"
  19. Ritchie McAlley ordered the ticket, the +1 is me (Ian O’Brien)
  20. Without sounding flippant.... it's just not very good. It's a lot of points investment, positional investment, unit investment, etc and ultimately the payoff just isn't as good as it looks on paper. It's easier and less resilient to people breaking your combo to just use good units that dont need a pile of stuff to go right for what is ultimately no better than just attacking with a solid unit.
  21. Whoops All I’ll say then is that basing unit evaluations on a once per game artifacts with an opportunity cost of potentially better artifacts is not ideal listbuilding!
  22. It doesn’t work, don’t bother. It’s a nice idea but there is not enough support for it. Unless you just want to play it for the lols in which case go ahead, but it isn’t competitive.
  23. The answer to this would be “evaluate the mission and your opponent and what his army does and what your army does and formulate a plan to win the game”, ie.... there is no correct generic answer Experience and knowledge will inform this decision but *generally* this list is looking to get the first charge in, smash stuff up, and defend itself from retribution via Nef+artifacts and debuffs. If the opponent isn’t capable of reaching you T1 you’ll go second, if they are you’ll want to smash them first. Generally.
  24. You can't screen against fast flyers with just 15-20 dogs. That's the problem with these "not many units" armies - there's only so much that you can do. You can mitigate a lot of charges but not stop them. Things like Eels will get you every time (and they only need one model in range to do the mortals for the whole unit) The minimum that you need to effectively, completely screen out not only chargers but also flyers' bases is about 60-80 models. Less than that and don't feel bad if someone flies over your screen This is why going first is so important for monster lists.
