    Warcry is Killteam/Mordheim... ?

Ya the more I think about it... I wanted AoS; Killteam, but I’m glad they’re doing something new.

    Warcry is Killteam/Mordheim... ?

That’s a pretty strong hint it’s not Kill Team... aka everyone is in, but in my opinion a likewise strong hint it’s going to be expanded somehow beyond Chaos.

    Warcry is Killteam/Mordheim... ?

They confirmed on Facebook it won’t stay Chaos only.
  5. I'm currently reading the Spear of Shadows book... and it cites various different guilds that have very different creeds from each other, as well various degrees of honor. There are some guilds that seem downright evil, and are suspicious of Sigmar. I agree that the faction could do with a splash of new models, but what's already there is very open to customization. I'm currently taking some bits from the Frostgrave Soldiers and Barbarian boxes to create a good mix of aesthetics. Not every guild is from Azyr. There are a lot of folks liberated by Sigmar who have somewhat reluctantly joined forces with Azyrite guild members. And, there is definitely tension between the humans native to a realm and the "colonizers" from Azyr. This is described in Spear of Shadows as well as City of Secrets. So, having a mix of model styles makes sense, but so does a pure army of matching aesthetics.

    Age of Sigmar RPG

Awesome cover. They also mentioned it's coming out Q3. I expected Q4, so this is a nice surprise.

    Warcry is Killteam/Mordheim... ?

Awesome! Seems to be working well. You can even use the "no hero" variant without it barking at you.
  8. I've been reading through the new issue spoiled here: He gets to the skirmish pages at about the 6:20 mark. Some of it is blurry and hard to read. But... what seems implied to me is the following: You can use any models in the line, including stuff like Nagash and Forgeworld (which I love since I can make an Azgorh warband). In Matched Play, it only goes to 250 renown, so stuff like Nagash won't come into play there. The above should make for some really cool narrative stuff. (Small band of Freeguild vs a Mournghul... etc... ) Everything is pointed based on a formula. Champion "models" like Primes, Sergeants, etc.. have an added cost. This seems like a good thing. It seems like everything is still only Grand Alliances. No factions specific allegiance abilities yet. Table size is 30" x 40" (strange size imo). I bet they will sell boards ala Kill Zones for Kill Team. No summoning. No Realm of Battle. No Endless Spells. Command points and abilities are IN, but command abilities that affect Battleshock are disabled. The February White Dwarf will have more rules, including a full campaign. Five Battleplans in this issue. Probably more in February. Last and maybe most importantly is the Formation rule that limits the scope of warscroll abilities. Hopefully, that will lead to a more balanced game. I think that's it. I may have missed (or misinterpreted) stuff. I'm definitely excited for my issue to show up! -edit- There is actually a Battleplan that lets players try and control an Endless Spell that starts in the center of the table (even though Endpless Spells are normally not allowed). I imagine this scenario is probably hilarious.

    AoS 2 - Flesh-eater Courts Discussion

Spectral Host is going to make even Flayers viable. Also... lol @ flying ghouls.
  10. It’s somewhat telling that they haven’t updated Skirmish on Warscroll Builder, or even mentioned that they are going to update it.
  11. I play that they can never be wizards as each one counts as it’s own unit.
  12. Sca Looks like a pretty basic campaign... meant only for two players. That's probably OK by me... and maybe a good sign we'll get Kill Team/Mordheim at some point even if it's 2020.

    Skirmish

    Gotcha. That makes sense.

    Skirmish

What is meant by "drop the points"?
  15. Ya I’m curious what the February White Dwarf will have. Didn’t GW hire the designer of Hinterlands?
  16. Ya. I’ve been playing with the house rule of “No Heroes”. Works better that way.

    Age of Sigmar RPG

Is the system going to be more of a Fantasy (percentile-based) system, or something completely new?

    How do you play open/casual?

I like the bold part. In 40k, they actually added an additional restriction to matched play that you can't take the same unit more than 3 times (I think Troops can be taken more than 3 still). That could be an interesting wrinkle. I'd think for AoS, it would be: "Except for battleline units, you can't take more than two of the same unit or more than one of the same unit if you are taking a maximum sized unit." That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure that's not perfect.

Does using points, but using Open War or narrative missions instead of Matched Play missions count? That's all I've ever done. I just find it too hard to balance without using points.
  20. Not to derail the thread any further but Nick Horth talked pretty extensively as well about the narrative process on the latest Stormcast podcast.
  21. There are a fair amount of non-human undead and chaos mentioned in the novels. I’d love to see rules for using them. We don’t need new models necessarily. They could have “upgrade” kits made available to convert models from Order or Destruction to Death or Chaos. I’d love to create some Death or Chaos Ogors. Or some Orruk Zombies... etc...
  22. These past months I've been doing a deep dive reading AoS novels. I got through the entire Realmgate Wars, Soul Wars, Plague Garden, Hammerhall, the two Callis & Toll books, Shadespire, and the Gotrek audio book. I've loved most of it, especially the Callis & Toll stuff and the more recent Josh Reynolds books. His books seem to start off kind of slow for me, but they really ramp up nicely. I'm thinking of picking up either the Sigmar, Nagash, or Gotrek books from the Warhammer Chronicles lines. Are they any good? I'm not too keen on the old dwarf and elf stuff, but if they are really good, I might try them.
  23. I got no problems with elves. Those books just seem on surface a bit more stuck in the Old World than the others. Im familiar with the vibe of the Old World mostly from the video games. If that trilogy is a good read I’ll give it a whirl.
  24. I think in that case you just bring the whole warband at it's full cost, just like a character. It would be similar to using a War Engine or Behemoth with "multiple models"... but it's really just one model (not on the same base).
