  1. The Slaughterbrute's never really been properly acknowledged in any Khorne book (I think there's a bit of art somewhere), and the warscroll is quite bland and unsupported. It's a real missed opportunity by GW for such an awesome model that is also (I think) very thematic for Khorne. Wouldn't take much to make him a decent pick. At one point the Khornate Slaughterbrute was 10 points cheaper than the Monsters of Chaos Slaughterbrute, but other than that, he's just suffered from almost total indifference by the rules writers.
  2. So, straight-up: I am not a fan of the GW Enchantress mini. In Australia, our tournaments are almost all independent, so third party minis are definitely an option. I've been combing for alternatives - preferably in plastic or resin - and it's actually really hard to find decent 28mm non-metal minis of ladies on steeds! There's hardly any out there... The best alternative I've found thus far is Tam Lin, by Darksword, but of course she's metal. :-( https://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/miniatures/stephanie-law-masterworks/tam-lin-mounted-fairy.html Has anyone seen any decent alternatives out there?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  3. It's not faction-specific scenery mate so, if you're playing Matched Play, you don't really get to choose to specifically place it (let alone in or near your home turf) unless there's agreement from your opponent. It therefore can't be used or relied upon universally. If things were otherwise, I'd obviously take it every game (and Secrator and Warshrine of course).
  4. Does anyone here have a lot of experience with Skyborne Slayers? I thought I was a bit clever-pants with this list, which only deploys an Azyros and Aetherwings on the actual field of battle. But it seems to me that any army with a decent number of bodies can just spread throughout the field and prevent key Heroes/Monsters from being 5"-charged and assassinated (don't even want to think about Total Commitment...) Thoughts/experiences? The Desolators unit is a great recipient of Bless Weapons.
  5. Used to loathe it. Now I love it. At the same time though, I'd appreciate it if factions had a more consistent spread of battalions so they can invest in controlling priority if they want.
  6. I like your list a lot. The Bloodsecrator has that little bit of protection and just stays vaguely near the 3 shredgangs of Skullreapers. And I assume you would toss Blood Warriors up the field to die a little and keep the enemy off objectives. I was curious about this though: Don't you find you have less choice in this without a battalion? In any case, I used to love packing the field back in AOS1.0 with 165+ wounds and no battalion.
  7. I much prefer swords and shields. There are heaps more debuffs to Hit than to Wound floating around...
  8. Is this mainly Aetherstrike, or the combat builds too?
  9. Damn, I've been cheating for several games. Thanks.
  10. This is the latest Astral Templars list I've been toying with. Although it doesn't focus purely in one direction, I think the Raptors are a good recipient for the Templars command, hitting and wounding their preferred targets on 2s. They also unlock the awesome Aetherwings ability. Thanks to advice from this thread, my usual Templars lists contain an Enchantress and Cogs to give the Evobomb great reach, but obviously I'm sacrificing that (and a Ballista) to have this (hopefully) triple threat list. What do people think? Am I being too greedy and diverse? 11. I think you definitely need Brazen Fury on that Warshrine, as well as an Exalted Deathbringer, both of which will be necessary to mitigate battleshock. Slaughterpriests are awesome in any Khorne list.
  12. Totally agree on the first point. Regarding the second point, the people who own the website set the rules.
  13. Hmmm. The whole point of my list is that I do the chaffing-up and choose my targets for the Reapers... And I think those Judgements are way deadlier than 5 dogs or Warriors.
  14. Cheers mate. What would you suggest has more killing power than, say, 10 Skullreapers with 6 attacks each rerolling everything? Edit: In terms of staying power, the intention is for the Marauders to stick with the Shrine for immunity to battleshock, as a kind of bulwark with the 6++ and maybe Bronzed Flesh.
  15. He's a 7th edition Bloodthirster. He's fine. Just put him on a little pedestal to help him to shine. If someone cries about LOS, just give it to them. No tournament will reject him under those circumstances. What he says is unimaginative, broadbrushed whining and hyperbole. There is a post almost immediately after his that offers some ways to make Archaon quite scary via Khorne. I'm sure there are others who would be happy to elaborate or problem-solve. Nobody got censored at all. The people who pay actual money to maintain this site don't want it to become Whineseer or 4chan. It's as simple as that. So what are you working on at the moment mate? Here is my latest list. I'd love to get your criticisms and suggestions for improvement: Allegiance: Khorne- Slaughterhost: The GoretideMortal Realm: ChamonDaemon Prince of Khorne (160)- General- Trait: Hew the Foe - Artefact: Rune Blade Bloodsecrator (140)- Artefact: Thronebreaker's Torc Bloodstoker (80)Slaughterpriest (100)- Blood Blessing: Bronzed FleshSlaughterpriest (100)- Blood Blessing: Killing FrenzySlaughterpriest (100)- Blood Blessing: Blood Sacrifice5 x Blood Warriors (100)- Goreaxe & Gorefist10 x Bloodreavers (70)- Meatripper Axes40 x Chaos Marauders (200)- Axes & Shields1 x Chaos Warshrine (160)- Blood Blessing: Brazen Fury10 x Skullreapers (360)- Goreslick Blades5 x Wrathmongers (140)Gore Pilgrims (140)Bleeding Icon (40)Hexgorger Skulls (40)Wrath-Axe (60)Total: 1990 / 2000Extra Command Points: 1 Wounds: 153
  16. I don't think anyone with a big expensive centrepiece model can afford to let him run up and start whacking them with the reality-splitting axe, regardless of how good a player they are...
  17. Yeah, the Tuskgor Chariot is a great little roving unit. M10 and a little self-buffing from rerolling charges is awesome. I actually really like Centigors too. Compare them to any other 80 point unit (Warhounds lol). They're a bargain.
  18. Depending on the enemy shootiness and range, Azyros and Aetherwings are deployed on the field, and the Veritant and Raptors are deployed in Azyr (or in reverse), and ALL of the Skyborne Slayers in Azyr. Then air-drop Raptors and Veritant into optimal positions and ALL Skyborne Slayers basically into the enemy's face against their specific preferred enemies (with a 5" charge hopefully).
  19. I was thinking the same thing. ie, something like this, but it's too hungry for command points and the magic defence is pretty sad: Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals - Stormhost: Anvils of the Heldenhammer Mortal Realm: Hysh Lord-Veritant (120) - General - Trait: Deathly Aura - Artefact: Aetherquartz Brooch - Prayer: Translocation Lord-Celestant (100) - Artefact: Sword of Judgement Knight-Azyros (100) 5 x Liberators (100) - Warblade & Shield - 1x Grandblades 5 x Liberators (100) - Warblade & Shield - 1x Grandblades 5 x Judicators (160) - Boltstorm Crossbows - 1x Shockbolt Bows 5 x Judicators (160) - Boltstorm Crossbows - 1x Shockbolt Bows 5 x Protectors (180) - 2x Starsoul Maces 5 x Decimators (180) - 2x Starsoul Maces 9 x Vanguard-Raptors with Longstrike Crossbows (510) 3 x Aetherwings (50) Skyborne Slayers (190) Total: 1950 / 2000 Extra Command Points: 2 Allies: 0 / 400 Wounds: 110
  20. Yeah... but weren't you saying it's like free Anvils command? (ie: Longstrikes). And what's this additional drop to Longstrikes points? Do you mean in the future??
  21. I think a minimum Vanguard Auxillary Chamber with Longstrikes is still 2080pts, even with all the points drops to Vanguard units...
  22. Would have been nice for the Sorcerer Lord to get a discount... Still have no idea why he's costed thus.
  23. Hey guys, question about the Stardrake miniature: Are those big blocky shoulder plates optional? As in, the miniature is properly sculpted underneath?
  24. Generally not in Anvilstrike. Astral Templars is conducive to massed Ballistae though, and the army has +1 to Hit Monsters, so I imagine FEC might hate it.
