  1. That's exactly what "as if it were the movement phase" means. Isn't this principle going to play havok with things like Kunning Rukk - how are you going to decide which abilities are carried over from the shooting or combat phase into the hero phase. I play this as I believe is intended that all such abilities do work as if it were the relevant phase - so they get all relevant buffs/debuffs and their target gets all relevant buffs, so shields that work vs shooting would work if they used Arrer Boyz and shields that worked against melee attacks or Bloodwarriors' Gorefists and die and still pile in abilities would all work against Savage Orruks attacking as if it were the combat phase. To give another example, if a formation allowed you to charge in a deemed charge phase within the hero phase (think there's a chaos formation and a Bonesplitterz one that does this), then surely Fanatics would still be able to deploy and charge. Navigate Realmroots isn't the ability that we are concerned by. It's the use of Forest Spirits to deploy particular formations from off the table at 9 inches away in the hero phase; and then moving 5 in the actual movement phase and then getting a reasonable charge. It's functionally equivalent to what Stormcast do routinely with their formations. I strongly doubt that it's a loophole, since the formations are pretty bad without it. Spirit of Durthu becomes 400 points of not going to make a charge on a 9. I'm not playing Sylvaneth at the event, but I'm surprised by how they seem to attract the nerfhammer so quickly.
  2. Sounds like my game with Fyreslayers against the Beastclaw - definitely didn't go to plan or as it should have done.
  3. I think mixed BCR could be a truly terrible match up for Ironjawz. Try to alpha strike them with Ironfist - Fanatics block you. Thundertusks behind netter wielding blocks of chaff are killing 2 Brutes per shot outright - hello Battleshock. Stonelord is going to delete 1.5 or so of your units outright on the charge unless they are incredibly spread out. Then you'll try to kill it as you cannot even get to the Thunderturds - then the Thunderturds will heal it back up. Then you lose.
  4. I'm still surprised that you do so well against Sylvaneth. It strikes me that Dryads and losing casualties when you charge through the Wyldwoods should be able to hold you up long enough for the Hunters and magic to turn the tide in their favour. Why he wasted Durthu on the pigs is beyond me. I guess they look good and look better than they are. Durthu should be taking out 2 Brutes per sword hit and laughing when the Battleshock test takes out the unit.
  5. This needs to be in red capital letters for anyone bringing Sylvaneth alpha strike lists. Is this something that GW are likely to clarify in an FAQ before the Grand Tournament - because a lot of people (including me) will adjust their buying decisions for that army accordingly (i.e. go for the Dreadwood Wargrove)? Spirit of Durthu is not worth anywhere near 400 points (plus the cost of a formation) on that basis.
  6. Thanks for the clarifications.
  7. Thanks Ben for the update and the hashtag. Now we've seen balanced new rules for the Balewind Vortex - cast on a 7 (rather than a 5) and not by monsters - could you please clarify whether we can use it or not. Cheers
  8. Got to agree - it really sucked having to buy a Magmadroth kit just to get a Runefather on Foot and a Runesmiter for my new army (with no intention of using the Magmadroth) - I tried eBay unsuccessfully. I'm using an old metal model as the other Runesmiter. The Allegiance pack for the Fyreslayers would be the best Christmas present, but I'm not hopeful.
  9. Very sweet army! Love the conversions of the artillery and spider crew. As you can see I'm also a fan of the Rogue Idol - I like your diorama.
  10. 5 wounds worth, but single models can never score, so really bad for heroes, monsters and Dracoth Knights, Archai, Varanguard etc..
  11. Just to clarify - can you still summon Balewind Vortices (not scenery on the board before deployment)? I know that you've used them in the recent past at Warlords and now GW is releasing the models for sale again - fingers crossed for an updated Warscroll.
  12. Good move. I think at least your Brutes are still scoring until they get down to one model, which is nice. Although you should check that.
  13. Looks like a good opportunity for them to update the Warscroll for the Balewind Vortex. I fed some feedback to them directly on it.
  14. Some very interesting lists - seems to be Order pew pew vs how many points can I drop in a single model and get away with it for Death with nice rounded Khorne and Destruction armies. Will be great to see the coverage of this one.
  15. So Vexillor the Puppy to within 3 inches of the enemy Nagash and then you're toe to toe unbinding him....
  16. So he's another infinite unbind hero like the Mighty Lord of Khorne? The +3 is to the unbind.
  17. Is there a Goblin on the far right of the image at the top here? http://www.bloodbowl.com/players-and-teams/
  18. You're right - that is Ahriman's staff. Dang. Number of new models released for Chaos Dwarves = 1 in July 2016 or so (Shar'Tor). Number of new models released for Death = 0.
  19. I see a Gaunt Summoner in the left of the image.
  20. Exciting - this surely opens the door to new Tzeentch Daemon models! I think the Magnus would look a lot better without the red colour (unfortunately that's his name...).
  21. I thought this was a total of 6 turns over two games.
