  1. I'm out of the hobby in terms of new purchases, not because I can't afford it but due to the fact I'm tired of my "investment" changing (and partially covid of course). I buy a guitar and it remains a guitar for the life of it. I buy a model and the rules change whenever GW feels like. If we didn't see the meta change so frequently (I know house rules, blah blah, which only works if you have non-random ppl to play with which not everyone has) and my models didn't suddenly get better or worse that would be one thing but its not. Golf clubs, guitars, etc they are all static. Wargaming models and their corresponding rules are not. If GW could control their power creep then I think maybe the higher prices would less hard to swallow
  2. Anything Stormcast, Most Mortal Khorne units But to me the biggest disappointment is the Celestant Prime. In the novels he is such a bad a** and he looks so cool But so terrible for his point value
  3. I agree except the SCE part (and a few of the models dropped from COS , like my DrakeSeer). The last battletome had lore referencing things like the Knight Azyros original abilities but the warscroll was stripped for it (stop copying/pasting the lore parts). They could have updated the paladin/liberator/etc warscrolls but chose not to. If they release a new chamber in the next SCE battletome why would they update the older models? They have new models to push. Of course if we get a new SCE Battletome without new models YES I think we stand a chance of getting updated warscrolls
  4. True about second hand but that gives money to the first hand buyer to buy more non-sce units I did buy a ton of SCE. (and a few other smaller armies) but have not bought anything since our dramatic slide into nothing-ness.
  5. Don't cave and buy a new army that just reinforces what GW wants. Vote with your wallet
  6. Unless GW reworks the warscrolls we will need more. I can't seem them reworking that many warscrolls to be honest, when they could release new models we have to buy. And there is the SCE haters to think about.
  7. You want to pair her with the vanguard palladors since she can ride their special move. You want to make sure to put a pallador body in between her and whatever you are aiming to melee, so she doesn't get attacked first, then let her counter attack
  8. As much as I like the proposed changes... yeah, if GW makes SCE good (hell even average is enough) the angry anti-sce mobs will destroy them.
  9. If you plan on the bulk of your army being vanguard and don't want an anvilstrike list......Well bottom isn't too bad if you're having fun. For casual, and if you going for the bulk of your army vanguard I personally would add in units that are high mobility like the rest of the army, I'd probably go with a celestant prime, Knight-Azyros, Evocators on Dracoline, Dracoth's, etc. But that would be purely for fun.
  10. Is this geared for casual/narrative or competitive play?
  11. This! Sure OBR are slow, but SCE are even slower and less powerful.
  12. Welcome to Stormcast Eternals. Make yourself at home, and enjoy the vast selection of units that are awesome at pillow fighting.
  13. Agreed!! Tired of my army collecting dust.
  14. Agreed. It's hard to get excited to play when the balance is all crazy
  15. Probably not, in fact I don't even know what size it is. I know it fits on most dining room tables I've tried it on, is double sided and includes terrain. I bought the azyrite townscape, and that fits in the box for a convenient travel size battle mat + terrain option.
  16. But they won't want to endanger sales of a new chamber's units. If they overhaul the SCE without a new chamber sure I can see them fixing all our issues in older units. But, heck I have a boatload of SCE, if they fix them I won't buy anything but the book.
  17. I believe is a combination. They are appeasing the stormcast haters for sure. There are also a lot of already bought stormcast models, fixing the SCE issues with existing units will not have a big effect on selling more units. I'm hoping that with a new chamber they take the time to go back and rework old units but I will not hold my breath
  18. Agreed, the Hallowheart box set is what I use, what a great release.
  19. Eh, probably not until after we see the GHB. The GHB will just adjust the points the overall weakness in the SCE army will still be un-addressed. NOW if you are just playing with some friends for fun and not being really competitive you can feel safe to invest in the SCE. The large variety makes putting together fun narrative armies great.
  20. Somebody should sticky a note to the top of the Stormcast forum, If you're looking for a very competitive army you have three choices Starcast, ShootCast, another army.
  21. For me its a combo of things. Moving to a new area of the country where a focus is on competitive play only and leaving my narrative gaming group behind. When you combine competitive play and power creep my two main armies are pretty much non-competitive. Throw in power creep and price increases on top. Just not very motivated to spend money on GW
  22. I'd agree. Been playing Stormcast since the beginning of the game. IMO the earlier battletome's were better reads than the latest one.
  23. Paint colors have nothing to do with stormhost, so feel free to pick the stormhost you prefer.
  24. You do not have to paint your army to match the colors of the stormhost who's rules you wish to use.
  25. To me Bastiladon is the least annoying gameplay experiences. Looking at Go First rules as the most annoying then summoning
