  1. With the new factories opening in Nottingham, you'd be mad to think that they would slow down releasing new ranges for every game type. We're gonna be buried in amazing new plastic.
  2. I was so disappointed to open my pack and find no skink with shield and pipe. It's like the only way anyone has their skinks built for AoS and there's no card.
  3. My pet theory is that when you go up against an army that makes you re-roll sixes to hit, you don't want your lovely LotL unit to whiff all its mortal wound attacks. But I don't know if that's the right one.
  4. Pretty sure we saw the shipping manifest for that months ago. It's more likely that they just don't do strong releases in the third week of the month.
  5. There are biases that play into the stats too. We are hugely scenery dependant making us an expensive army to collect and transport. Having to bring so many awkward trees to tournaments is certainly a factor that makes me eye my other armies. We are also, as mentioned above, a tricky army to play well with a lot of strategies and tactics and a smaller margin for error. I would argue that there is a decent amount of variance in our playstyles and they are not overall reliable enough to bring to a tournament. Many of the top tier players would rather something more consistent. In the right hands - and certainly for causal, club gaming - Sylvaneth are fine, but at tournaments there are fundamental problems with representation that can skew the numbers. This isn't to say that we've a flawless book, more to say that there are factors beyond our control that compound book issues.
  6. Legion of Grief was popular and did that sort of cross-army fun, so it seems likely. You'd have to make sure it doesn't clash too much with LoN though.
  7. Each army gets a new Stormhost or three. There's also a new grand allegiance where you can take all Chaos forces together, eschewing individual army rules. In Death's case, there'll likely be new sub-factions for Nighthaunt, new Grand Courts for FEC, new Legions for OBR, new Legions for LoN, and probably some big over-arching grand Death allegiance, lead by Nagash/Katakros that can pull from anywhere.
  8. Ben Johnson and Jes Bickham have indicated on Twitter that this is the approach they are taking now that all the books are out, Psychic Awakening style.
  9. It'll be another Wrath of the Everchosen style book but with a Death focus, so new allegiances for all Death factions. There will be one for Order and another for Destruction. No idea on the Order, but I'd expect a big Chaos invasion to Shyish after Death's invasion of the Eightpoints, so Death would seem likely to be up next.
  10. I'm looking at kicking off a day of 1250 games with my gaming club. Here's my proposal for my FS list: I'm currently wondering whether the battalion is worth it over another unit of vulkite or a squad of auric hearthguard. Will a runefather on magmadroth have more of an impact at this points level?
  11. Our first round is almost complete and we've been having a great time. Everything feels fair. I found a minor issue tho - Fyreslayers don't have a magmic invocations table to roll on.

  14. In fact, I'd say it was the entire opposite. The amount of strong books for AoS only lines pales in comparison to the amount of strong books for older lines. Cities of Sigmar is almost entirely old sculpts, but it's also super powerful while Gloomspite Gitz was an almost entirely revamped line with a wonderfully fluffy, but decidedly MOR book.

  16. Well the OP states: "while probably around 80-90% of the reaction to Teclis is unfavorable." That's a bad faith number to found an argument on.
  17. No-one in my gaming club thinks the Teclis model is bad and none of them engage with the online debate except me The vast majority of players are unrepresented online so I would be super careful about making sweeping generalisations using online complaints to back up arguments.
  18. I am soon starting a club campaign using these rules with a wide variety of players and forces. I'll update with any feedback!
  19. Community/Store Location: Dungeons & Donuts, Galway City, Ireland Name: Tribal Warlords Contact: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/510835456217971/ Playing: AoS, 40k, Warcry/Underworlds/Necromunda/KillTeam
  20. They wrote a few lines in a book and said "hey, here are mercenary companies." They did rules, art design, printing, packaging and shipping for multi-language Warcry cards and printed campaigns for them in the Annual. Your comparison holds as much water as a Slann that sat on a Razordon.
  21. Seraphon are getting cards for Warcry. Squatting conversation is done.
  22. It has updated now, just check for a new app version.
  23. I should have specified large artwork (as that's what @mikethefish was looking for). Yes there are new inserts, but scant few larger pieces.
  24. There is substantially less artwork in the new book compared to the old one. I think there are only two new pieces of art in it with the rest being older pieces. There's nothing new skyport related, just some gunhaulers attacking a monster near to some sort of derrick.
