  1. Grashnak Blackhoof! At last, been waiting for him for what seems like an age.
  2. I was lucky enough to get and paint Shar’tor. It's a great sculpt and one that shows an evolution from the old bull centaurs and even from the previous FW bull centaur renders. I wonder if that's the direction they'll go with new monsters for AoS in the faction.
  3. I forgot these were 2023. As a single sculpt I think the Harbinger of Nurgle is a solid choice, with the honorable mention to the Daemon Prince (Pretty much a perfect kit, can be built in many ways, for both AoS and 40k) Overall, this has been a great year for fresh takes on old units, bringing them up to date with new details, while capturing the essence of the old kits. These also include some great unit boxes: Kroxigor and Saurus Ardboyz Snarlfang riders Multipart Chaos Warriors. Gorger Mawpack
  4. Farsight is the cool, acceptable face of Tau. Plus by the way he was seemingly sold out everywhere for months, even after his stand alone release, he was very popular. I think that's a good point. AoS has has so many amazing sculpts this year, the smaller vote pool will have really been split. Here's to another year of strong AoS releases in 2024!
  5. I think it was always going to be either Angron or the Lion. If there's a primarch, daemon or otherwise, released they tend to win best mini for that year. The AoS ones that did honorable mentions are all solid choices in their own way. Harbringer was my fav (I just need to get round to painting him)
  6. This is the main hope of us all I think haha. Nothings set in stone for me in 2024, I have some Ironjawz I want finish from the last release. Leaving my options open for anything shiny and new released. I do want to try and improve my greenstuffing skills over the year, as it's part of the modelling process I've just never been much good at. I have a few ideas for more involved conversions I'd like to do to push this.
  7. Mining picks, new more agile Duardin miners confirmed. Kragnos worshipping humans coming as a new Destruction faction.
  8. Nothing stands out personally as needing work, but thanks for keeping this site running.
  9. I suspect they had to. "Content creators" endlessly making rumours about upcoming releases is one thing, but when the rumours could have serious financial impact on shareholders, partners, etc I think they had clarify what is going on.
  10. I'm also voting for the Harbringer of Decay, I've assembled mine recently, but yet to paint him. I guess the Gorger Mawpack isn't eligible this year as they've not had a stand alone release yet?
  11. With Gorgers being on 50mm bases, matching up alongside the other monstrous infantry. Could we see Ogors themselves move to 50mm bases? 40mm used to feel much bigger when it was 25mm and 40mm. Now we have much wider selection of base sizes, could we see normal Ogors move to 50mm or stay on 40mm like the Bloodpelt Hunter? Saving 50mm for the larger units (Tyrant is already on 50mm)?
  12. I was interested in the game, but I cannot justify spending £50 to buy something that I don't have the time to play right now. There are so many other big time-sink games that came out recently that are already competing with hobby time and RL duties. Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077:Phantom Liberty, Starfield, etc all coming out close to it's release date I think has likely had an impact on sales. I'm likely to pick it up if it goes on sale next year in a quieter period.
  13. New stuff is always welcome. Personally for me either any of the following: Chaos Dwarfs / Hobgrot expansion Gitmob / Snarlfang expansion Drogrukh to go along with Kragnos,
  14. I'm wondering if they have moved the scope of the game from Empire during the civil war, including Kislev as a major player, like way the old Tamurkhan campaign worked. Instead they're now focusing on getting the old discontinued armies with no support in AOS like Brets and TK back, with a couple of new sculpts but then re-releasing older sculpts. Presumably this approach will get them a much larger player base quicker, but personally I was most looking forward to new sculpts and background for Kislev.
  15. I was thinking about the info and concepts for Kislev posted when it was first announced, including how important they would be in this time period, but then in a more recent article talking about factions I couldn't see Kislev mentioned: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/03/23/the-old-world-ice-guard-of-kislevgw-homepage-post-4fw-homepage-post-2/ https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/07/21/square-bases-and-kislev-ascendant-see-your-questions-about-warhammer-the-old-world-answered/ https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/05/11/old-world-update-bearsgw-homepage-post-4/ https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/05/23/old-world-development-diary-the-main-factions-revealed/ I'm hoping Kislev is still part of the plan, but I'm assuming they're going to release the game with then old stuff first (TK, Brets, etc) and then move onto new/updated factions?
  16. A gorger style glow-up for Yhetees would be epic as well.
  17. Can we get marked Daemon princes being able to lead the mono-god forces armies please? World Eaters can be led by a demon prince of Khorne, but Blades of Khorne can't
  18. The difference between the AoS 1.0 sculpts and the stuff GW has been showing off recently is night and day. Not to talk down on the other game systems, but AoS is easily getting the best sculpts. Ive just been assembling the new Gorgers and they're *chef's kiss*
  19. Isn't there a rumour engine that is a skeleton impaled on a chaos spike that looks like the ones from the old Harry base? *edit, found it
  20. I hope they fix the 360 views, those and the sprue pictures really made the GW a useful resource. Overall the new site does look more modern, it'll just take some getting used to.
  21. I tried to order the Nurgle Harbringer on Saturday, but couldn't find him on any 3rd party sites. GW didn't list it as direct only, but my usual sites (Wayland, Firestorm, GoblinGaming, etc) didn't have him listed. Not sure if it was just a temporary thing or if GW has limited stock and so only selling him on their own site.
  22. Hobbyist/Collector for me. I used to play WHU every Friday lunch break in work, but since Covid and WFH that's been killed off. I also used to play maybe once a month AoS or 30k, but Covid/WFH has also put pay to that as my gaming space has now become my WFH office. I enjoy the building, kitbashing, painting side more now. I get a satisfaction from finishing something and adding it to my display cabinet. Other than that, reading lore, or scrolling Instagram looking at other people's amazing work.
  23. AoS will never be complete as such, it's a constant cycle. It will be a mix of range refreshes, smaller waves of new units, maybe occasionally a new army/sub faction. Secondary games will also be used to release interesting or niche units. Basically the 40/Killteam way of doing things now, but we have both Underworlds and Warcry to release smaller releases\alternative sculpts. To me, it feels like AoS is where some of the more exciting sculpts are coming from right now. The Mortal Realms really give the designers free reign to come up with fantastic ideas and this gives me hope it will continue to put out cool things for many years to come.
  24. Ironskull's Boyz were my very first Orruks and what started me down the Ironjawz road. They were later added to with some extras using Blood Bowl Orcs to make 10 Ardboys. Never liking the look of the old sculpts, this was as much as I did, instead focusing on brutes to fill out the bulk of my force. With the new Ardboys coming soon, these will be relegated to the back of the cabinet.
  25. If it wasn't for the 2nd wave of Ironjawz I'd likely end up getting that Troggherd box. I never thought I'd be saying there is just too much destruction!
