  1. Well that sounds like there is no better way than constant overturning and then nerfing things into obscurity. I mean I get that a game with so many factions is hard to balance. But going for "welp that's just the way it is, things will never change" is letting GW off to easy for doing a not so good job imho. You have the same issues in 40k and they seem not to learn at all. Also the reflex of immediately acting and rushing out nerfs is not giving enough space for the players to maybe develop strategies first. If I look at competitive RTS like Starcraft for example there were often strategies or units that appeared imbalanced for a long time. But instead of instantly reacting to every cry from the community Blizzard (the good old Blizz, not the current mess) let the game run for a while. And suddenly those unstoppable strategies found counters. It just needed time and pressure. People will never go out and try all kinds of crazy ways to win against an apparently overpowered opponent if they are used to just crying long enough and then getting the nerfs they want. I admit of course that there are some issues that need fixing, in every game. But just a couple of months and the data of - how many, a couple hundred? - games is not enough time at all to evaluate the situation. So, honestly, I can't help but think that there is also a sales component to all that. "Oh you bought some new models because they were useful? Well we nerfed them so you will never play them but thanks for buying. Anyways we made THESE new models (or old models you never bought because they sucked) that now are really good. Would you mind buying them too, before we make them unplayable?"
  2. But wouldn't the better way to fix this giving the big centerpiece modells some kind of protection against these kinds of attacks maybe? Maybe better artefacts or some special skills rather than nerfing the fun units of other armies which become also less viable against everything by the nerf.
  3. Ah sweet, thank you. I didn't have a look at the book yet, it will arrive tomorrow as I took a small break from AoS. I knew that the new Dragons could be battleline and also Dracoths, but didn't know about the Annahilators.
  4. This is true of course. But on the other hand I reallly liked the Sequitor models for example and painted 20 of them because they were also pretty strong in the beginning. Now they just stand there on the shelf and I kinda feel I wasted my time. Because it is fun to paint a couple models especially if they are big awesome characters, but painting 20 (or 10) of anything feels more like a chore and I don't feel like putting in that time if I never get to use them. Was really looking forward to painting and playing Vanquishers
  5. Not quite sure if I miss something, but doesn't the list lack 1 Battleline for 2k points?
  6. wtf guys, I dropped AoS for a while to focus more on 40k, then saw all this amazing new units and a new book and thought "sweet". Just dropped like 300 Euros on Dragons and the new sword dudes and looked forward to not sucking SCE and now you are telling me, we are getting nerfed to death again before I even put together my new models? :((( And also - Vindictors are not as good as Liberators? I thought the ability to fight from two lines was very nice...and Annihilators are also only good with the great hammer option? Soooo why did I get two parts of the newish starter set, seems like actually nothing of that is viable? Oh my, I might just go back to my Marines
  7. Omg I love everything about it so far. I can play an all flying army, I can play an Dragons and Dracoths army, I cann play the storm of the Paladins and everything in between. Love it love it love it Please just let the book be good and STAY good even after the next releases ^^
  8. Oh you are right, the Knigh Draconis is a preposition for having the other Drakes as Battleline. Nice.
  9. I still hope that big daddy Stardrake will still be combinable (is that a word? ) with the new guys. Otherwise it wouldn't be a real Dragon Force (pun intended) without a Dragonrider General. Or they bring new HQ on Dragons, would also be fine with me. I'm totally stoked! Only downside is that my motivation to paint the Dominion stuff just fell threw the ground, because...why on earth would I play a non-dragon unit now?
  10. lol looks like Starcast got whole different meaning now. We can play a list that consists 100% of Dragons (with tiny humans on top). This is exactly what I am going to do. Shame for all the other painted models, but there is no other way
  11. Not only cavalry but also baseline. Which is it for me, I am going all Drakes yaaay
  12. I had the same issues and understanding rules and how to apply them is my job as an attorney so I usually find it easy to find into new rulesets. But AoS 3.0 just has a lot of stuff and no matter how well you understand the system and rules from reading, without applying them may times, you won't feel confident. I have 2 games in now and feel no where near being confident in the application of all the rules...so my advise would also be to just give it some more time.
  13. This is why in WHFB times we had a set house rule "no named models" and I kinda still stick to it. Besides that I find it a bit weird lore wise to see the biggest heroes suddenly taking part in small skirmishes, I always felt that most named chars are not well balanced.
  14. How do we actually know, that Dominion sales were low? Do we have any number? Because you can't assume that just from the fact that there are still boxes available. We don't know how much they made, maybe they just hugely increased the number to account for the demand and overdid it a little.
  15. Oh that is really good to hear. They are some of my favorite models, I absolutely love all kinds of cavalry and just hope that the Dracoths will also be awesome this edition.
  16. Yeah, that's the problem with all the lore of AoS. It's just to much all over the place and in contrast to 40k has no ties whatsoever to anything that can be considered "real" as a reference. When the Old World kinda resembled our own world, just as 40k takes place in our actual galaxy and our actual Earth, I have no idea how to connect to AoS lore, which is why I widely ignored it. I liked the minis and the games, lore wise I stick to 40k About my upcoming game tomorrow - I just went with what I have painted mostly. What do you guys think of that list against Orruks? TBH I have no Idea what I am doing, just mashing things together, that kinda look cool. General idea is to hit things with Evocators and Annihalators on the head and shoot other things with the raptors, while casting things as possible ^^ Allegiance: Stormcast Eternals- Grand Strategy:- Triumphs:Lord Imperatant (160)Lord-Arcanum on Gryph-Charger (215)- General5 x Sequitors (130)- Stormsmite Mauls and Soulshields5 x Liberators (95)- Warhammer & Shield3 x Evocators on Dracolines (280)5 x Evocators (225)3 x Vanguard-Raptors with Longstrike Crossbows (185)3 x Annihilators (190)The Burning Head (20)Total: 1500 / 1500Reinforced Units: 0 / 3Allies: 0 / 300Wounds: 79
  17. So I am going to have my first AoS 3.0 game this weekend against Greenskinz, should be 1500 P. and I am pretty lost building a list. I have pretty much every unit available and 2x the Dominion Box but not a clue what to play. Normally I would prefer a hammer and anvil approach with a lot of Longstrike Crossbows or 6 Kitties as the hammer, while stacking the battleline with the minimum requirement of 2x5 Liberators. Not sure if this is still viable though. The new battleline looks nice but is sooo expensive even more expensive than Sequitors which I have a hate-love relationship with because they looked so nice when they came out so that I painted 20 of them and then never used them because they turned out to be to expensive. Do you have any lists as inspiration?
  18. Sooo any guesses which of our units will still be playable? Kinda hinders my painting atm because I don't want to spend hours painting stuff that will never see the battlefield. Right now I am painting up 12 Raptors with Longstrikes :D
  19. For me it must be a lot of SCE models unfortunately. Paladins and Prosecutors have already been talked about but to be honest there are not so many SCE models that are vaible at all - in an super elite army that is supposed to represent the very best warriors of Order. Dracothian Guard are either to expensive or to weak, Stardrakes can be made to work but they need a lot of buffing and twisting to get them to work, while they just should be absolute monsters to be afraid of. Liberators should be a brick wall but feel like Goblins from Fantasy basically dying to everything in a matter of seconds. The list goes on and on and on as basically only Evocators, Raptors with Longstrike Crossbow and Ballistas are somewhat good from the get go. Man SCE really needs a complete rework
  20. Yea I thought so too but there was also not a single one on ebay - until today. Bought it fast as lighting
  21. Hi, I am looking for a Celestant Prime. Ideally in the box but I would also take a build and/or primed model as long as the primer is black or grey and applied thinly. I am ready to pay a little more than the original retail price, since the model seems to be completely sold out and my GW could not tell me if or when it will be back in stock. Thank you
  22. Do you guys still have the Celestant Prime available in your local shops? I am looking for one but every store and also every online retailer including GW seems to be out of stock. Does anyone have an idea where I could get the model?
  23. Sorry but that doesn't convince me. If a guy alone in the basement can do a better job than a multimillion dollar company (hello battlescribe) the company messed up and there is no excuse for that. Being understanding about this behavior will only make it go on, GW needs to understand, that things like that will cost them greatly and we the customers should make them suffer for it. It is bloody obvious that GW does not take enough care of the digital aspects of the hobby and it strongly needs to invest much much much much much (much much much) more money into it.
  24. Man the Apps are starting to make me kind of angry. I absolutely can not understand how it can be so hard to update a few numbers in an app that it takes them weeks and weeks. This is a task for a day for a semi enthusiastic intern. Not to talk about the mess that is the 40k army builder - just COPY the damn thing from the AoS App and change some names and numbers. What is wrong with GW that they struggle so much with the absolutely basics of digital data? And that stuff is important, the App is the most important device for playing, at least for me. I have all my rules, numbers, lists, just everything in there.
