  1. Tempted by the Kruleboyz box, seems like an ok selection to expand my 2 dominion sets.
  2. So glad TGA is back up! I’ve really missed it this week. Painted this a few months back, but never got round to sharing pics. Tzeentch seem to be my go to palette cleanser minis. I’ll have to get the rider done at some point. Getting there with my eldar commission, looking forward to getting back to AoS things tho.
  3. Off topic. I like the simple way AoS handles artefacts compared to the granularity of points costs for other systems......but I think a two tier artefact list would be nice, Greater Artefacts & Lesser Artefacts or something like that. For each enhancement pick, you can take either one Greater or 2 Lesser. Some artefacts rarely get used as there's a "best" pick that you'd be silly not to take. A two tier approach could give a bit more tactical flexibility and add some variety.
  4. Has anyone actually confirmed that the Hunter is the only new model for Ogors? Or is it just an assumption based on the current state of AoS releases?
  5. Would love to see conquistador/Estalian style CoS and Seraphon with Seraphon ship ruins!
  6. Pardon me if I'm being ignorant but I didn't realise there was any sensitivity issue with the classic chorf design? I thought they took inspiration from ancient eastern (assyrian and/or babylonian) imagery in terms of curly beards and big noses (tho lots of dwarfs have big noses), in much the same way as Tomb Kings took inspiration from ancient Egyptian culture. Am I missing something?
  7. I have been working on things, just not sharing that regularly. I did this quick test mini for KO. Whilst I had custom schemes floating around my head when I got the paints out nothing quite came out as I’d envisioned so I ended up going full Barack Thryng! I love the idea that they keep the ancestor symbols clean as a mark of respect. Taking that idea further I’ve purposefully done heavy weathering on everything else. I’m pretty happy with him, though I might try some different techniques like AK striking grime/rust or oil washes on future minis. In other news, whilst I haven’t been painting or collecting 40k for quite some time, the buyer of my old eldar army got in touch asking if I could paint some extra units so I’ve been having fun with them too. Thanks for looking
  8. Part of the issue of Warcry for me is the warbands. I know you can use pretty much any AoS models but with the main box releases on the whole the warbands don’t do it for me. I know 40k is meant to be more popular anyway but the KT releases seem much more appealing with much wider appeal. New plastic Ork commandos! New plastics DKoK! Corsairs! New Kroot! I’m not into 40k any more (for the last five years or so have only been collecting AoS stuff) but these were so tempting to me. If they did similar with Warcry and updated usable AoS units for more varied grand alliances and factions I think it would do so much better. There are so many units that could be updated as others have mentioned. New maneaters, spider riders, fellwater troggoths, jezzails, acolytes, Seraphon etc etc. I think GW are missing a trick with the over abundance of chaos warbands that are not particularly usable in AoS. I know they have warscrolls but to my knowledge none of them are great picks for AoS and they mostly get used as counts as marauders. I know the necromunda gangs aren’t generally usable in 40k, but necromunda has a long established history and player base. I think GW are trying to make warcry like necromunda with random gangs that flesh out a smaller scale world, but I don’t think this approach is really working. The aesthetic for necromunda was strong in terms of gang identity that 25 years on there is a lot to draw on and develop. The way they are now able flesh out ideas that only appeared in the Gang War magazine like Squat prospectors and Ash Wastes is very cool. I converted a Squat gang back in the day and am very tempted to pick up a gang. I could be wrong but I doubt that in 25 years time we will be saying, “Oh, wow they’re bringing out an updated Cypher Lords or Iron Golems kit! I’m so hyped!” To be honest I think the Warcry warbands are quite forgettable and I’m not sure they will stand the test of time. Just adding more and more of the same seems weird especially when these releases take up design/production space that could be used for truly awesome releases that people are really wanting. Wishlist time…. if they did an “homage to Mordheim” Warcry box with new Eshin/gutter runners and Cities/Crusades updated mercenaries or freeguild sculpts along with generic ruined fantasy building terrain I feel pretty certain that it would sell like crazy.
  9. I generally find the warcry boxes don't have quite enough to make them insta-buy for me. This latest one, I love the Hashut warband, but not too bothered on the terrain and the Rotmire. Red Harvest I loved the terrain, but wasn't fussed on the warbands. Catacombs I quite liked the Shadowstalkers but the terrain felt like bad value especially when compared to the first Warcry box. With hindsight I probably should've picked up the first Warcry box. Was the best value by a mile and I liked both warbands and terrain and extra monsters. Oh well 🤷‍♂️
  10. Have GW specifically said that the Skaven rules from Broken Realms can be used? I would've thought that the BR books are in the approved list only for the armies that haven't had a new tome yet. Like KO, Lumineth, Cities etc. Surely once an army has a new tome you can't use an older version of the rules?
  11. I painted this Murknob in similar colours, over a wraithbone base, used plaguebearer flesh, then highlighted with Ogryn Camo, then final highlight with Ogryn Camo plus a bit of wraithbone (probably 3:1 wish ratio). Lip was washed with Aethermatic Blue. The Gutrippa I sprayed black, then zenithal with Wraithbone. Then Plaguebearer Flesh. The shadows and transitions were quite harsh so I did a layer of Elysian Green to feather it in. Then same as above. On this one I think I did too much highlighting with Ogryn Camo, so glazed it with watered Plaguebearer Flesh again to bring it back to the sickly green colour. Hope this helps!
  12. I have a Fatemaster conversion in my head, using the leader min from the Cypher Lords Warcry warband. Just haven't got round to executing it yet.
  13. New box seems like very good value, will probably get one. I like the new curseling but imo it’s not quite as good as the current one. Can’t help wishing it had been a new fatemaster instead.
  14. I mainly build and paint, but I also ticked something else, as I probably spend far too much time on forums/Instagram etc. I enjoy it for inspiration but it can be a real time thief. Time that could (should?) be spent actually painting or doing something more productive.
  15. I’m in the UK. Don’t really want anything for them, I’ll never use them. Just cover the P&P and they’re yours! DM your address and we can go from there.
  16. I assembled my vermin lord as a warbringer meaning I do have some spare horns. I’ve circled the ones that I have in red. The horns that have been crossed out in black I have used already to make the warbringer. Due to the makeup of the kit you may struggle to get a full set as each build uses different pairings. These any use to you?
  17. Agree with this, looks like a 32mm base to me which would proxy nicely. I wonder what the rest of the range will include, tanks? Or high tech flyers that KO players may be able to pilfer!
  18. Funny, I was wondering how new squat uncovered heads would fit onto KO!
  19. I guess there are some who just buy an army painted (maybe even commissioned) to use for tourneys etc and keep up with the meta. They're not too bothered about the creative expression and just want painted models they can play with. I suppose for people in that position it's easy come, easy go, just sell it and buy another army. If the army comes back round again they will just buy again. Personally, that's not me and I feel an army is a massive investment of time and creativity. I have sold armies/squads in the past (mostly 40k stuff). Haven't really regretted it as my interest has shifted pretty much fully into AoS. I suppose it depends what you want out of the hobby?
  20. Not great currently, they didn't fair that well moving into 3rd edition. However the next issue of White Dwarf (475?) will have a tome celestial article for KO, so hopefully that will address the issues.
  21. My mistake! Think I was getting mixed up because they are only battleline if everything else is Skryre.
