  1. Also not correct. It is not this product, that makes GW equal to EA. It is the path they already took until now, beginning at least 1 year ago.
  2. Since my post of yesterday, I am not that optimistic about that anymore, since I saw the release of Sororitas today ) although it is not AoS, but certainly it is GW's business practice again ). The picture, that it shows for me now is this: ยง1 This is a new cash grab, to drain money from those poor souls, that wanted WHF to stay ยง2 It will become a limited edition release fest a la couleur, that will give GW the possibility to gain mney as fast as possible ยง3 It was only released to secure the stagnating playerbase to stay for this and have a solid selling point ( potentially ) ยง4 The prices until that date will be far from ridiculous. GW hiked the prices not only one time this year, they still do. Each new box is slighty more expensive, than previous releases with a similar content. It is kind of the same, like it was with the Adeptus Sororitas for 40k. It took like 10 years for them to release plastic models with rules. Why though? It wasn't because GW wanted to get it right, or didn't have the ressources for it to be produced. They where sitting on these products to wait for a gap to release it in a moment, where there will be a fu** ton of people to buy it. It is literally 26 models with a book for 160โ‚ฌ. That box is limited edition, just like everything what is entirely new at the moment, and is sold out already. Boxes are on ebay Germany from between 249,-โ‚ฌ to 400,-โ‚ฌ. This is exactly, what we will se even more in the future. Because it works for them. And this is exactly the sense they will approach The Old Wrold. By waiting ( what they already do now ) for the right moment, when there is no retreat for those, who really wanted to have it, even though they didn't know what it will be, how it will be supported, what it will cost and what the release scedule will be for that. Imagine a product you spent like 500โ‚ฌ into, just to see it being abandoned like several other sub game systems. We should be sceptic, more than ever before, about the ( again ) upcoming business practice of GW. They became the EA of miniature game producers and let me tell you, that they didn't change, when they told it. They just changed some faces, but not what was behind it.
  3. Well, I am totally confused right now, after I saw this, to be honest. My initial thoughts where: a) Will this just be a rules parallel rules set, that brings back the WHFB rules? b) Will they shoot AoS in the Neck, like WHFB? c) Will this be the attempt to rewind and go for the soft reboot, like in 40k? I always said, that the 40k way to soft reboot the rules, but to keep all the rest functioning, was the better way to go. The anhiliation of the WHF world was a rough mistake, imo. They could have redesigned the rules and go for it. For that, personally, I hope they would rewind and go for that soft reboot style, by bringing back the lore, the world, the characters...just all of it, what made WHFB a good game backgroundwise. I know that WHFB was difficult to play for new players, and therefore shot itself into the knee a little, but I would like that soft reboot. Need to say, that i never played WHFB, just saw it played, but I had a look at the lore, wich was fantastic. So technically I am an AoS player, who likes the combination of both ( soft reboot version ) for our game.
  4. Hey there! If i would play an army, with their own allegiance, for example Sylvaneth, can I then include the generic Battleline for Order, wich is the Liberators without breaking the allegiance? Cheers///
  5. The spell to cast a wyldwood is reliant on the army allegiance, so it can not be given to the Treelord, as it is a magic lore for a sylvaneth army, that's what I read.
  6. Hey there! When I play the living city in the CoS Battletome, I can use Sylvaneth units in that allegiance then. My question: a) Is it true, that only Dryads could therefore be applied as battleline, otherwise the battleline from CoS? b) Can the General be a Sylvaneth unit? Cheers///
  7. Hello! Refering to it's warscroll I do have a question about the ability to plant a wyldwood of the treelord ancient. If he is an ally to another order faction, can he then plant the wyldwood? Can he than furhter awake it, and move/ teleport through it? For me it seems he can do all of that then. Cheers///
  8. Personally, I like the style of the new StD units. But the more I hope it will compensate the flaws of my main army, so i could combine it to be worth anything in the games.
  9. Very very nice model! Personally, I think a mono chromatic colour sheme could work well with this army. Cheers///
  10. I get what you mean and you're right. But here shall be a "BUT" in the sentence: The issue occures from the Hard Reboot, wich was Age of Sigmar. Befoer that hard reboot there where armies, that did funczion ( in a more or less baรถanced way ) but every army had it's books and rules. When the roboot came, there was plane nothing, not even point values and players where supposed to throw together whatever they where please. What we see now is the consequence of a not very well made reboot. In 40k it kind of worked better, since they just reworked the basic rulesm but maintained the existing army books. The gap, that appeared after WHVF's reboot is still there today, resulting in missing army books & their rules, not fleshed out base rules ( to some degree ) and power cvreeps, that are not even funny anymore. The power creep only appears, because GW everytime has new ideas of mechanics, that they wanna implement in new books, but that's not how it works. If a game is being hard rebooted, the designer has to nominate mechanics, that shall be taken in all over the armies ( sure, not all armies would have 100% the same ), wich would be concidered to be balanced and then go for the existing armies and make those books, so that ALL armies have their rules anew. After that, an edition 2 could be launched with upcoming new books, new mechanics and new factions, but GW wants to do it all in one, wich does not work great as we see, at least imo.
  11. @McthewTotally agree. What I am concerned about with future releases are 2 things: a) the release manner of releasing 2 faction boxes with at least one limited* model in it ( I absolutely hate that! ) We, again, saw the feast of bones box being out of stock within hours and the models landing on ebay for ridiculous prices. Since ebayers do earn enough money to take more than 20 boxes per ebay shop, those releases are just straight up cursed to fail for the individual players. Pre ordering might help sometimes, but even that's not a guarantee, sicne the releases are time zone dependend. b) the squatting of models within new books I mean, why would anyone do that? Seems just that GW is lazy to rework all of the models / units. c) the prices of the new models Since when is it ok to pay 50โ‚ฌ for 10 Blood Warriors? And as I suspect, it will be the same with the Chaos Warriors. The price politics is just straight up sh*t and disgusting. *limited in eternity: These models are mostly a very important part to make an army viable ( bombardier, arch revenant, arch regent, tyrant ) and we will never know if, and when they are being released individually. Even today we are missing units from the very first 2 starter faction box of AoS, wich is the Lord Relictor, The Bloodstoker, Khorgorath and the Bloodsecrator. I know we can get those from ebay, bt that shall not be the way to go for GW tbh.
  12. Good thing you name is already "Honk"...
  13. My personal advice for NH: 1. Focus the habringer and get rid off him asap 2. ignore the Blightkings as long as possible combatwise ( try to debuff them, then go in for them ) 3. Don't waste damage dealing spells on the Blightkings 4. Be aware, that even Nagash can not cast 8 arcane bolts ( as each spell cna only be used once per tunr afaik ) 5. You can camp the trees to prevent him from getting his summon points ( you will get damage then, but it's only D3 and you can park a cheap unit with your ghostly save after save next to those, or bring your models back with spells ) 6. use your maneuvering for your benefit ( he might run & charge you sometimes ) 7. use your generic ability of NH from the allegiance you have, where you can remove a unit from the field and place it wholly within 12" of your general, an 9" away from enemy units ( so you can pick him in fights and then just leave the combat ), it counts as movement 8. Don't let people discourage you by saying "how can you lose against him?????[...]". Our meta is entirely ruled by Tzeentch atm, that nobody wins against. Local metas drastically differ from the international stats, never forget that
  14. Yeah, GW is know for their great and very thoughtful marketing strategies XD
  15. Well, I'd like to state my opinion relating to the state of the game in combination with the business, that is behind it ad how that influences the game. But that's maybe really just my opinion. 1. Armies are getting kicked out, because: a) they don't sell good ( because there's no support in the most cases there ) b) GW is too lazy to flesh out the existing factions with good rule sets ( because of point c ) c) they wanna sell new stuff in the first place 2. No official information about future releases: a) because that way GW doesn't owe anyone anything ( necause of point b ) b) I know from a store manager, that GW rushes out new releases to sell stuff and just straight up stomps them if they don't sell as expected c) therefore GW can orient their release shedule via the sells, that where made ( yeah, bla bla, it's a company to gain money and so on... ) 3. No information about products, that will get out of books / production: a) well, GW wants you to buy into several products, not just i that one you already got 4. Battletome dilemma: a) they release just that fast, because they promised to, and don't want to ****** that lot of people b) some of the books are not great ( and that's true, it is not just my opinion ), because yet you need support to stay in the hobby, but then just point c ) they wanna sell you new stuff ( no interest in supporting old stuff for so long productwise, or ruleswise ) c) constant edition changes, to have people buy anew into their army, with the new fancy balanced units, that where not great before that edition 5. power creep intended: a) buy that army, if you wanna be good... Yes I know, people will argue that GW is a company, that's to sell stuff and make profit, like every other company does. I get that, but the way that's taken is not the way to go and have a consistent monay source. It feels like they want to squeeze out, what is to be squeezed from he existing player base, to make their profit. Of course it would be more wise to make the price model much more welcoming for new players and people on small budgets, but that's not happening. How is the game now influenced by that ( from my personal local observation ) a) no new players coming in for like 6 months now b) players getting out of the hobby, because their armies got dunked totally and don't want to pay again that much money for a new army ( wich might then again be abandoned... ) c) continously lack of interest in playing the game outside any events, that I create for my locals d) people constantly moving to other systems, that provide a long term balance state and granted supported products ( of course granted, as long as the company exists ) We should aknowledge, that in several areas the player abse is already fluctuating, because of the reasons from above. That, at least for me, raises the questions about the game, and that shall be my personal opinion about the state of the game: How long will it be around? How long will my community be in the game? Will my army stay and be supported? How will I purchase my models and where? We got power creep, unconsistent releases and no information about the future state of any of our products, that makes for me a straight 4/10. And for those being defensive for GW right now, the game is great, no question! That's why I am so worried about the stuff, that I mentioned, I want it to stay and become even more great. Edit: Forgot something: Game itself: 8/10 ( we got a power creep, that haunts my local meta, being Slaanesh, FEC and Skaven ) Overall impression uncluding concerns mentioned: 4/10 ( we need massively more consitency ) Faction support: 6,5/10 ( armies should never be kicked out of the game ) Balance between the factions: 6/10 Balance within a single faction: 7/10 Overall prediction for the future if nothing would change: 6/10 ( fluctuating player base )
  16. I agree, that the international average meta is diverse, but that's just according EU West and US. The other metas have the same leading lists over and over again, so there I'd disagree. I'd also like to disagree, since we have an avergae win rate of 67,7% of Slaanesh, and following up factions with a significant higher winrate, than it should be in a balanced state. I would like to argue, that the game is in the "best" state release wise ( although they're really just rushing out books that are not great ), but balance wise it is really not great.
  17. For me the big bummer is the pricing in combination with the business practices to some degree. On the one hand they hike the prices, and then you got those new boxes coming out, with limited edition models that would be necessary to have, if you wanna play that army competent. It happened for AoS a lot, with the carrion and looncurse boxes having characters, that are obligatory for the forces included, wich might never be released, and if they would, we will never be aknowledged when that is. At the launch of AoS, wich is a long time now, they never released core models for e.g. the Khorne army, wich is the whippy guy, the Khorgorath "monster". They had released the mighty lord in combination with the Standart bearer, wich disappeared again. For the practice of grabbing into our wallets, to have limited access to models we would really need, the price hike was pure mocking of the customers.
  18. Refering to the warscrolls I don't really got what you mean with the ghur & chamon wizards. Basically I like the idea to support him as best as possible with mages. https://www.games-workshop.com/resources/PDF/AoS_Warscrolls/aos-warscroll-battlemage-en.pdf
  19. Hello there! I am curious to know, wich army book releases you would rate the best and wich the worst of AoS 2.0 until now. Technically we could also talk about the bonereapers and ogres, sicne there are a lot of previews out now. Rate from 1 to X, where 1 would be the best release. this should not be abot the absolute state of armies being good, but to see your PERSONAL opinion, wich will reflect your local meta too. Maybe you could talk about just the best and the worst, why you think it is, but you don't have to. I'd like to start and include some of the new allegiance from the GHs: 1. Slaanesh 2. Idoneth 3. Tzeenth ( I would include it here, because the new allegiance in GH really made them annoying ) 4. Skaventide 5. Stormcasts 6. Seraphon 7. Flesh Eaters 8. Sylaneth 10. Cities of Sigmar 11. Orruk Warclans 12. Gloomspites 13. Beasts of Chaos 14. Nighthaunt 15. Khorne Bases on my local meta: Well, to talk about Slaanesh...that army really did it this year. Those shenanigans with the combat order & stuff they got really feels straight up unfair. Most of the time that army just destroyes the playing fun for any of it's opponents right now, since you feel helpless against them. Khorne, and that's an old theme over here, is just in the pittyful situation to not be able to compeed with any army we got here. No rend, bad movement, expensive units ( in comparison to toher amies and their purpose ), Blood Tithe table ( wich is totally cursed ), messed up keywords ( preventing from effective army & buff mixes , that would give viable options ), total gamble profiles for important units make it not fun to play. I was surprised by the potential, that Tzeentch showed up since the GH. That summoning makes it's day here right now. Also I see a lot of potential for the Sylvaneth, since their wood terrain really make some absolutely good counters to cheese lists and shenanigans. Let me know what your rating is. Edit: Some of the realeases are not in my list, since nobody plays them here.
  20. The price hike made me totally passive right now. Background is, that since the AoS release / beginning I have build up a Khorne army and spent a lot of money into that. Problem now is, that this army can not perform any good in my local meta, but I can just not afford to buy into another army, that would fit my playstyle. Even before the price hike it was not easy for me to buy stuff, since I had to sort put other models and sell those on ebay & stuff like that, to just have the money to buy units for my army. Since the recent Blades of Khorne book came out, it changed the meta a little and I wanted to get into the triple / quattro Blood Thirster combo to make by army work at least now. But within that price politics it is not longer possible for me. i can not sell enough to even buy one more Blood Thirster, and I would need 2, maybe 3 of them, since I do only have one right now. So frankly, the price hike kind of destroyed the managable site of the hobby for me, wich is to buy units I would need to even have a chance to play a solid game. I mean, I was lucky to see, that the army still is worth nothing in my local meta, but that shall not be the point. Even now I can not afford to build up a new army, but there would be options. The hobby itself feels a little like "For rich kidds only, where mommy & daddy pay all the stuff to shut up the annoying kid." now. I really dislike that. The logic behind it, from an economical standpoint, is labeling GW as poor business people. Prices should be lower, since more and more people are in the hobby and would be drawn into the hobby, but greed controls the business before Brexit right now. So for me the hobby is like playing with stuff that can just not win in the actual meta, since I can not afford to buy the stuff, that's good.
  21. I'd suggest that Vokky guy is pretty decent with his "you won't fight this turn" thing So the tyrant will be released?
  22. Will the box be limited edition, again? So I'd suspect it again to be like #loongate to be not availabe in shops AGAIN for release, but to be on ebay for absurd prices.
  23. I'd like to revise my initial impression to a certain degree. I see the army being in a weird spot. Potentially there is like 1 or 2 combos, that will certainly be good, but their point cost design is too inconsistent. Some of the units are good priced, but the real deal bringers are a little expensive for what they will actually do on the board. On the paper it reads pretty good, but on the field it will be another thing, really.
  24. Prediction: We gonna see that one enclave with +1 save thingy in combination with battleline and guardian spam. There will be that catapult a lot of times and those support heroes, like to one with the contract. Result: An army with almost everything a 3+ save, rerolling all save fot the battleline, bringing back models over and over agains. It will be an army where people will not be able to wipe units. The army itself is cool in itself, but bad balanced into the rest of the armies imo. Seeing a powercreep right there. BUT: In some cases the army lacks good artefacts, general abilites & those choosables. Just as I see within other books that are being released, there will be that one and only playstyle, that will grant a solid performance, wich buggs me for toher armies too. For me it seems a little like GW just wants to dish out those releases, without fleshing out those books for several different playstyles that much, wich is a bummer imo.
