  1. Remember that collegiate wizards still have a rule for being from the realm of Azyr. I'd bet money on Azyr being invaded by the end of this thing.
  2. Maybe people need to actually read the story before judging its quality? You know, instead of just perusing the spark notes summary. It's like reading a novel's wikipedia page and then reviewing the book.
  3. Yeah, as I've said before, it's just too random and costly. If it reduced the damage of ALL sources (magic, abilities, etc.) it would be great. But it doesn't. And 80 points is way too much. Warp Lightning Vortex is 80 points and is arguably the best endless spell in the game. I'd consider Heart if it was...50 points? Even then, it'd be sharing a slot for an extra CP.
  4. In light (haha) of the new Lumineth, I want to reiterate my desire for a cap on -1 hit/wound debuffs in the game. Debuff stacking is huge NPE.
  5. Players are good at identifying problems. They're very bad at finding solutions for them.
  6. Remember when we could just have regular wars?
  7. Of course. I just have some elf-aligned associates who would be interested in whether or not they're legitimate leaks or total bollocks. Some of them simply seem unbelievable.
  8. There have been some errant leaks of Lumineth rules. ...I don't know whether or not to believe them though...some of them are...simply insane rules. Can anyone verify their veracity?
  9. Ah yes, the classic math hammer debate on rules we haven't fully seen yet.
  10. Unless a rules writer interjects, rules as written, you still get your warscroll prayer AND a "known prayer." Warscroll prayers are not "known prayers" and nothing suggests they are. The text in the warscroll simply states "you can chant one of these in the hero phase." It does not say "the priest knows the following prayers." This means the limit of 1 known prayer only applies to the ones on the prayer table, aka, the 1 prayer you choose to give them. It's how every other priest in the game works, they just chose poor wording.
  11. My interpretation of the new prayer restriction is that you still get 1 warscroll and 1 "known" prayer from the chart. The warscroll wording wasn't changed and still says you get to chant one of them in the hero phase---they are not "known" prayers. The changes to this rule just mean you can't use Rune of Khaine to pray for 2 chart prayers in the same turn. If you have any Avatars in your army, you also get to chant the awakening prayer, as per the wording on the warscroll.
  12. Morathi's back to -2 rend! Khailebron's no longer wonky! No more weird mount chicanery with cauldrons! The Hagg Narr clarification is great. No longer is it the concrete winner among the temples--but it's still pretty darn good. In my eyes, this was a perfect FAQ. It's everything I wanted.
  13. And shooting abilities nonetheless---meaning anti-shooting -1 to hit protection continues to do nothing! Very cool /s
  14. Don't think Kragnos has anything to do with the Silent Ones unfortunately. That said, I'm going to reiterate my extreme interest in seeing an insectoid faction in AoS.
  15. Some kind of box-shaped tank that looks like every other 40k tank.
  16. There's plenty of love for Kraith. Realistically though, because their temple ability now only affects SoS, very few players are going to have the models to take full advantage of it. You essentially need 60+ SoS. I think most people have either tons of snakes or tons of witch elves.
  17. 1 - Reimagined Chaos dwarfs and/or a new Chaos faction outside of the four main powers. 2 - Fimir 3 - A brand new Destruction faction without any relation to goblins/orcs/ogres/giants.
  18. Large corporations routinely gobble up and ruin small creative teams. Hopefully the animators are being appropriately compensated, but I highly doubt they'll be given the creative freedom they once enjoyed. GW are infamously protective of their property. You can't tell me there isn't going to be at least one corp-head leaning over their shoulders, occasionally chiming in to tell them they need to include or omit this that and the other. But I'd rather be wrong.
  19. Can't put my finger on it, but I have a sneaking suspicion this next White Dwarf will be a popular one.
  20. Unfounded Predictions: Sunday preorder announcement for Broken Realms Teclis and Lumineth models. Release on the 21st. Cursed City preorders sometime in mid April.
  21. The infamous Glaivewraith skull debate. The models are horse skulls--no question. But this is AoS, you could narratively make any excuse you want for rat skulls, hippo skulls, red skulls, or blue skulls; whatever suits your fancy.
  22. I'm starting to wonder if Hag Queens on foot are a trap. With the changes to witcbrew, unless you're going Hagg Narr, you're paying 90 points for pretty unreliable buffs (even 3+ prayers are only 60%). You then pay an artifact to make her prayer somewhat reliable, but in my list building I'm often only a handful of points from adding another unit of something. So in the end, it's usually something like: add a hag queen or add more khinerai/doomfires/shadows, etc. In the games I've played so far, our units still die extremely quickly, and maybe more bodies is the answer, despite the previous glorification of the queens. Buffs don't mean much when there's nothing left to put them on halfway through the game.
  23. If you run an Avatar on foot, I think it's definitely worth it to go Blood Sigil. Double the prayers with only a roll of 1 failing (but not causing damage).
  24. I dunno if you've played against Sentinels, but I assure you 5+ mortals, ignoring line of sight at 30", on a unit that's always -1 to hit is more oppressive than Stalkers. Sentinels are the best ranged unit in the game--maybe sharing the spot with Seraphon Salamanders. The big thing Stalkers have is being able to shoot in the hero phase for a CP, which still costs a CP and a Morathi. But if we're going to start talking about combos, we then also need to talk about how the Sentinels will always have that 5+ ward protection from Teclis, have a 50% chance at ignoring spells, etc. Stalkers are good, but they're not Sentinels.
