  1. nope the email just had a short text (I've machine translated it since I got it in spanish): "The impending range rotation means a few warbands from past seasons of Warhammer Underworlds are leaving stores. Get your favorites while you can."
  2. so it seems that this are the prices in €
  3. what seems interesting from the premium minis is that this time are add ons to the factions present in the main collection (stormcast, kharadron, Gitz and Warclans), other collections gave you a taste of other factions that were not present.
  4. I'm currently using ikea billys and some plastic boxes for extra space.
  5. are vampire lords on 40mm? The old winged one came in a 40mm, but the base sizes .pdf states that vampire lords go on 32mm bases...
  6. If I don't have anything else to do at the time of the stream, I'll watch it live. If I have something else to do, but tons of hype, I'll probably be checking the website like a madman, but a lot of times I just forgot and then I check the website when I remember. This time I think I'll watch the stream. By the way... are we specting a new warcry edition like the killteam one, or just a replacement for the box set?
  7. btw I'm not sure if this has already been pointed, but do you think we could trace something to Red Harvest from the souleating spiders from Wrath of the Everchosen?
  8. I've done some collage putting vanquishers and vigilors in pairs. It looks like they have enough variation.
  9. I think that the old world logo on TW3 is related to a branding strategy unifiying all the stuff from the warhammer setting. Being the same setting/brand sure its going to share some stuff, but not everything on TW is going to show on TOW and the other way around. If they keep reprinting old warhammer books I'm sure at some point they'll start rebranding them as ToW instead of Warhammer Legends.
  10. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2021-09-29-where-is-the-line-between-fan-creativity-and-ip-infringement this is about videogames, but nevertheless an interesting read as it touches the same topics discussed here. maybe GW should take an approach similar to D&D OGL licesing so people could make stuff (maybe not minis 😅) "compatible with everyones favourite miniatures game"
  11. yeah! our point of view here depends totally on our own situation. I'm sure videogames are being now one of the main things that attract people to warhammer. Not sure if kiosk collectables are working well on that regard or are just buying them people who want to get minis on a discount. I live in quite a big city with 3 GW stores and a lot more independant ones, so my experience is going to be super different. I used to live for a while in a small city and I got warhammer stuff on a general hobby store. And from what I experienced, in small cities they need to be extra nice with customers as there are not that many (as always this is what I experienced and I'm sure it's going to be different in other places)
  12. I don't think either this is a good move, but I also believe that this will impact the most "hobby knowledgeable" people (that already play AoS or that come from another game). without numbers we can just guess from our biased point of view and its kind of hard to make some kind of prediction on how this is going to impact the arrival of new players. From my experience, GW stores have a very well planned funnel to get into the hobby new players. Running path to glory campaigns, painting challenges, etc.. Independent stores have been kind of hit or miss. Some are really nice and others look that they're run by a group of friends and if you're new, probably won't get much attention. The same goes for getting random games. GW stores tend to have a more chill, noob friendly environment, and in independent stores you can find anything, but probably the more crunchy players are going to be there. As said before... I think this is going to affect people in the hobby that wants to try AoS more than totally new people, but I can just guess
  13. yeah, but you always have needed to have the army book to play warhammer since 4th edition. As has previously said in the thread, free warscrolls lets you have a peek to get an idea of how an army works or play some casual games with the random minis you own (since the core rules are still free) but you always needed the army books with full rules to play competively or as intended. we can discuss if rules (core and army/unit) should be free as a hook for getting newer players. But I think it doesn't make much difference using the random minis you own without the book but with full warscrolls thant without the book and the capped warscrolls that are currently in the mini boxes.
  14. but the main discussion here on hobby accessibility is missing the free warscrolls. And by reading this thread, the main concern is from people who like playing to a certain competitive degree and want to check the rules before deciding wich army to start or check rivals rules so they can tweak/grow their army. In that case even having complete warscrolls in the boxes wouldn't matter. They want to know the rules before making the purchase, not after. I don't think most beginners (old or young) are going to check all the rules before deciding the army. They are going to go to a gw or a local store and ask for advice, on lore, looks, playstyle...
  15. Core rules are kind of buried, but can still be downloaded from the website, but you need to subscribe to the newsletter. https://ageofsigmar.com/core-rules/
  16. the cheapest way to get a knight incantor was from 2nd ed magazine or Mortal Realms collection. Currently you can get an Incantor from Stormsire Cursebreaker's box or build one from the evocator's box. And like @sandlemad said, since the weapons are the same, you could run the prime as an incantor. I thought that they were going to do a couple start collecting sets with both halves of the Soul Wars box, but taking of the lord arcanum seems weird...

  18. I had high hopes on that "ready for preorder on august "
  19. I've read that some boardgames website was contacted by hasbro announcing that heroquest was going to be translated into spanish and have standard brick & mortar shop distribution. I assume that this also could mean translation to other european languages and distribution there
  20. I've just read some news that was going to be released on Europe as well
  21. lets hope that they streamline some stuff (like it seems with merging weapon stats) in 3.0 and spears auto attack on 2 ranks or something like that
  22. also with big monsters (zombie dragon) that change their stats, the output is calculated with wounds suffered, not wounds remaining.
  23. regarding the 10-15mm range debate about 3d printing. Currently home printers get nice results, but when compared next to pro-printed miniatures, the difference in quality is cristal clear. And in my opinion, home 3D printing is currently too cumbersome for mainstream public and requires quite some space (and good ventilation). And for the prize of a printer you probably could get like 3 warmaster sized armies and without fighting with the printer settings. Nowadays is something for hardcore hobbists, but that probably will change in not that much time.
  24. lots of posts this morning and I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but there is a slight change with the generals. Now its not mandatory for the bloodline named character to be the general. Just gains the general treatment in addition to whatever we've designed as army general.
